Desk Plan — House Mneme — 2026-10-09

Briefing reference: /Users/dadbot/Desktop/ClaudeBod/projects/dadbrain/Analysis/briefings/2026-10-09-pm.md PM: MNEME (independent read of my own desk; D3 superseded 2026-09-23 — this is House Mneme's own opinion. GHOST stays frozen, no plan)

Regime Watch

data-infra/regime/current.json (read 2026-10-09, status: ok): as_of 2026-09-22 — SPY day flat (open-to-close −0.08%), above 50d, drawdown bucket <2% (−0.58%), VIX 14.21 LOW (<18). The file is now thirteen completed sessions behind the live tape (09-23 through 10-08 are not folded in). Per the template's stale rule I flag this explicitly rather than treat it as current: the shared tags it carries still have the same shape as the live tape, but they are not observations of the last thirteen sessions. The charter's own sensitivity is why that matters — my persistence rule counts a shift only when a risk-off tag (SPY below 50d / drawdown ≥2% / VIX >18) holds 5 consecutive sessions, and I cannot resolve five consecutive sessions from a feed that stops on 09-22. So the honest reading is no confirmed risk-off trigger, and the persistence test is INDETERMINATE — not passed (the standing peer-review disposition adopted 2026-10-02: an unobserved regime state is unknown, not benign).

Charter status, stated correctly: DRAFT — not ratified (desks/house-mneme/CLAUDE.md). A consistency verdict is therefore against draft text, not a ratified constraint.

Draft-charter consistency: consistent on substance — today is a live eligible session (not a hard skip) standing on the orderly, LOW-VIX side, with a modest risk-ON overnight bias. Named indicators moving:

  1. VIX prior close 15.41, latest 15.30 (−0.11). Still squarely LOW (<18) and still roughly 2.7 points short of the >18 trigger — the tag itself is not close, it is the feed that is stale. VIX is not a gate input for either stack; I name it as a level, not as reassurance, and I do not cite the VIX<20 bucket as a tailwind or a "best" bucket (MNEME's VIX<20 record is my most-traded LOW bucket at WR 37.6% — my weakest inferential WR; MID 20–30 is the strongest at PF 3.54 / N=100 / WR 49.0%).
  2. SPY prior close 773.88 vs SMA20 767.26 (+0.86%) — above the shelf. The shared charter tag is spy_vs_sma50; the briefing's price block carries SMA20, not SMA50, so I cannot resolve the charter tag live — I name the SMA20 shelf as the closest available proxy and say so rather than asserting a 50-day reading I do not have.
  3. The always-long baseline gap (own charter monitor, non-tag) — restated stack-by-stack per the 10-02 peer disposition. MNEME baseline +$2,076.49 (MNEME's baseline arm traded +$36.96 on 10-08) vs real +$1,018.48 → gap −$1,058.01; TRACE baseline +$1,985.61 (no 10-07 row — standing backfill gap; the arm traded +$383.67 on 10-08) vs real −$82.17 → gap −$2,067.78; combined ≈ −$3,125.79. The pre-registered escalation needs each stack's baseline to match or exceed its own rolling PF at two consecutive monthly checkpoints — the September Desk Review (window through 09-05) did not escalate and this is not a second checkpoint — so nothing is filed; named for the October review. A cumulative dollar gap across unequal trade counts is descriptive, not evidence.

Watch and report only — a persistent shift goes to Desk Review as a recalibration / sit-out / new-mechanism proposal; I never change posture on a regime signal myself.

Shared Market Read

  • Event risk today: MEDIUM, and the firm is GO. No Tier-1 hard skip — next verified Tier-1 is CPI 2026-10-14 (8:30 AM ET), in both stacks' blackout set. On today's board: Delta Air Lines (DAL) Q3 2026 results before the open (consensus ~$1.71 EPS / ~$18.3B revenue; the scanner flags conflicting snippet figures and treats the print as unverified); the University of Michigan preliminary consumer sentiment (October) at 10:00 AM ET (48.0 cons / 47.8 prior) and 5-year inflation expectations (3.4% cons / 3.5% prior); and the Baker Hughes oil/total rig count at 1:00 PM ET (456 / 598 — LOW impact). None of these is in either stack's blackout set (FOMC-decision/CPI/NFP/PCE), so both active members are LIVE and eligible.
  • Session character expected: Constructive / news-driven, mild risk-ON bias. Overnight: U.S. equity futures point higher as oil retreats — President Trump said the U.S. would not attack Iran before the November elections and cited productive talks, easing the energy risk premium — with tech recovering after the prior session's AI-led weakness; the counterweights are Treasury yields near multi-decade highs and a firm dollar, with Gulf shipping/supply risk unresolved. The briefing's own guidance: let the open respond to the de-escalation, but treat continuation as conditional and let the 10:00 AM Michigan release reset the rates/demand read. I record the pre-open cross-asset read as a tape fact, never a p_trade input (standing forecast-discipline rule since 09-24).
  • VIX regime: 15.41 prior close → 15.30 latest, LOW (<18). Named as a level; not a gate input for either stack.
  • Key levels: SPY prior close 773.88, prior range 770.48 – 777.07 (6.59 pts = 0.97× ATR(14) 6.77), SMA20 767.26 (+0.86%, above). ATR 6.77 → a 1.5× ATR stop is ≈ 10.2 index points. QQQ prior close 747.50, range 743.28 – 757.18, SMA20 735.68 (well above), ATR(14) 9.65. DIA is not in the briefing's price block — TRACE reads it off its own path and flags the print as unverified.
  • Macro backdrop: an oil-risk unwind (Trump-Iran de-escalation) is competing with elevated long-term yields and a higher-for-longer rates debate — a news-driven, headline-sensitive tape that leans risk-ON but is one Gulf headline away from reversing, with no Tier-1 print on the board.
The desk-level read — a live, eligible, mildly risk-ON session with no Tier-1 on any window entry

Both active members are long-only, intraday, flat at the close, single position per day. Neither is skipped today: the day's events (DAL, Michigan sentiment/inflation expectations, rig count) are not in either stack's blackout set, so the KNN path runs on all three windows. The honest anchor is the pooled eligible-fire base rate of ~45–55%: MNEME has fired 5 of the last 9 eligible sessions (09-24 A, 10-01 C, 10-05 C, 10-06 B, 10-07 C; 10-08 no-fire), TRACE 4 of the last 10 (09-25 A, 09-28 A, 10-05 A, 10-07 C; 10-08 no-fire). The structural shape today is the cleanest of the week: unlike 10-07 (2:00 PM minutes landed exactly on Window C's 14:00 entry) and 10-08 (mixed tape, both stacks vote-blocked wide), no scheduled catalyst lands on a window entry. The one print that matters, the 10:00 AM Michigan release, lands at Window A's entry (10:00) — second-tier, not a blackout item; Window B observes 10:00–12:00, so it enters post-Michigan, a cleaner B entry than the last two sessions; Window C observes 12:00–14:00 with only the low-impact 1:00 PM rig count inside it.

Printed: mneme 0.45 / trace 0.40, direction long, conviction low — at the measured base rate, not a hedge and not a 0.5-on-everything signature. p_trade is a fire-rate forecast, not a direction or P&L forecast — so the risk-ON overnight bias does not move it up; the honest input to fire-rate is the gate-clear base rate, which is unchanged. TRACE sits one notch below on its stricter joint gate (max_sim ≥ 0.60) and its still-fragile live book. A same-day co-fire counts as one clustered observation for Family 5.

What this plan is not doing, holding to the desk's standing dispositions: no per-stack p_trade spread beyond the gate-strictness discount above (the withdrawn 09-25 spread item is not re-filed); no gate-clear-streak "conditioning evidence" framing (neither the recent fire cluster nor the risk-ON tape is priced); no VIX-as-tailwind or VIX-as-"best"; no N=1 validation claim; the pre-market cross read recorded and not priced; the charter status stated as DRAFT — not ratified; the stale regime feed named as indeterminate, not as a passed persistence test.

The new near-miss data point to carry (10-08, both stacks): both members were vote-blocked wide on 10-08, not similarity-blocked — MNEME A:vote=53%/62% B:vote=53%/62% C:vote=53%/62% (sim 0.888/0.541/0.592, all clear) and TRACE A:vote=50%/62% B:vote=30%/62% C:vote=40%/62% (sim 0.955/0.654/0.718, all clear). On a mixed/contained tape the vote simply did not reach 62% in any window for either stack — a 9-to-32-point shortfall, a structural absence of a decisive vote, not a marginal graze. It adds one flat, regime-shaped no-fire session and changes no threshold.

The two structural questions I am watching into the session:

  1. Window C's live character — today C is clean (no catalyst on its entry or observation beyond the low-impact rig count). MNEME's C is 5W/6L on 11 fires, sub-book PF ≈1.38; TRACE's C is 0W/3L on a 3-fire sample. The standing open question to TEMPER remains C's why-does-it-lose-when-it-clears behavior — especially since both C fires on 10-07 entered on the minutes; today C is neither on nor near a Tier-1 — not any change to the 62% vote floor or the 0.50 similarity gate.
  2. TRACE's DEGRADED buffer — 0.662 from the boundary. SPRT CONTINUE, LLR −2.282, unchanged since the 10-07 C loss (10-08 was a no-fire). Named as the desk's most fragile stack (16 tr, WR 18.8%, −$82.17); not a sizing or gating input.

MNEME — SPY KNN (p_trade 0.45, long, low)

A trade is possible, at the pooled base rate — a live, eligible session.

My runner's live event-day check returns False today (DAL, Michigan sentiment/inflation expectations, and the rig count are not in my blackout set, FOMC/CPI/NFP/PCE), so the KNN path runs on all three windows. p_trade 0.45, direction long, conviction low — five fires in the last nine eligible sessions (09-24 A, 10-01 C, 10-05 C, 10-06 B, 10-07 C), with 10-08 a wide vote-block no-fire. Not a hedge; not above base rate, because the tape is contained (SPY 0.97× ATR prior session, +0.86% above SMA20, VIX LOW, firm GO) and risk-ON overnight, but the session is still news-driven and headline-sensitive.

Setup present: possible, at base rate. My binding gate has recently been the vote (≥62%), and on 10-08 it bound wide in all three windows (53% each — a 9-point shortfall), while my last five fires all cleared the vote at exactly 73.3% with comfortable similarity. I carry two corrections rather than smooth over them: (a) "similarity never binds me" is falsified as a flat claim — on 09-29 Window B cleared the vote (67%) but max_sim failed at 0.485 vs the 0.50 floor; and (b) "lowest clears all won" is dead — the four lowest Phase 3 clears are 0.5447 (W), 0.5533 (L), 0.5553 (W), 0.5712 (W) → 3W/1L at N=4. A thin clear is not a quality signal in either direction.

Window-by-window read (+ live tally through 10-08):

  • Window A (observe 9:30–10:00, enter 10:00, hard flat 12:00): the 10:00 Michigan sentiment/inflation-expectations release coincides with A's entry — second-tier, not my blackout. Live A 5W/5L (10).
  • Window B (anchor, observe 10:00–12:00, enter 12:00, hard flat 16:00; holdout PF 3.76): the window I want structurally, and today a clean post-Michigan entry (B observes through the 10:00 print). Its 10-06 fire stopped out fast (entry 781.12 @12:00 → exit 780.94 @12:15, −$17.28) on a non-continuation tape. Live B 4W/5L (9).
  • Window C (flagged, holdout PF 1.25): observes 12:00–14:00 (only the low-impact 1:00 PM rig count inside it) and enters 14:00 — clean, no catalyst on the print, unlike 10-07's minutes-on-14:00. 10-07's C fire hard-flat lost small (−$13.92, vote 73.3% / max_sim 0.6731); 10-05's C fire won (+$95.04). Live C 5W/6L (11), sub-book PF ≈1.38.

Sizing vs. event risk: standard 0.75% ($187.50 on $25K), max $75K notional — unchanged. MEDIUM event risk is a set of intraday catalysts; none is in my blackout. Sizing is never an event-risk input — the gate is the protection.

Key levels: SPY prior close 773.88, prior range 770.48 – 777.07 (0.97× ATR), SMA20 767.26 (+0.86%), ATR(14) 6.77 → 1.5× ATR stop ≈ 10.2 points. A >1.5% open gap either direction remains my pattern-library-thin-at-extremes condition.

Invalidation: SPY gaps >1.5% at the open → stand down entirely. A break and hold back below the 767.26 SMA20 shelf with QQQ underperforming re-opens the trend-down tape where my longs get stopped → stand down entirely. A post-Michigan impulse that reverses into an execution window → no discretionary action; the gates decide. No gate is amended; v5's parameter set (K=15, max_sim ≥ 0.50, vote ≥ 62%) is untouched and stays live. SPRT CONSISTENT-WITH-BACKTEST (n=30, WR 46.7%, LLR +4.631, cumulative +$1,018.48) — nowhere near its ±2.944 boundaries. Window C suspension rule (rolling 15-trade PF < 1.2) not triggered — rolling 15-trade stack PF ≈ 1.36.

TRACE — DIA KNN (p_trade 0.40, long, low)

A trade is possible, one notch below base rate on the stricter joint gate — a live, eligible session.

Same event-day check, same False result: today's events are not in my blackout set, so the KNN path runs on all three windows. p_trade 0.40, direction long, conviction low. My joint entry bar (max_sim ≥ 0.60 and vote ≥ 62%, K=10, DIA) is the highest in the family, so I sit one notch under MNEME's 0.45; the 09-05 SIP same-day fix is live and today's bars read normally.

Setup present: possible. My live book remains the desk's weakest — 16 trades, WR 18.8% (3W/13L), −$82.17 — unchanged since the 10-07 Window C hard-flat loss (−$43.80, vote 90.0% / max_sim 0.8051, my widest recent vote clear); 10-08 was a wide vote-block no-fire (A:vote=50% B:vote=30% C:vote=40%, similarity all clear). Window A is 3W/9L on 12; it gained a winning counter-instance on 10-05 (entry 508.37 @10:00 → 510.75 @12:00, HARD_FLAT +$349.86, vote 80.0% / max_sim 0.8872 — my first A win in weeks). Gate fidelity still does not discriminate (09-25/09-28 cleared wide and lost; 09-21 cleared similarly and won). Windows B (0W/1L) and C (0W/3L) carry tiny live samples.

Setup present: possible, with the catalyst off my entry bars. Today's only relevant print (Michigan, 10:00 AM) lands at Window A's entry and inside Window B's observation — so no window enters on a scheduled print, and the low-impact 1:00 PM rig count sits inside Window C's observation. Cleaner structure than 10-07 (minutes-on-C) and 10-08 (mixed tape, wide vote-blocks).

Sizing vs. event risk: standard 0.75% ($187.50 on $25K), max $75K notional — unchanged. The DEGRADED clock is explicitly not a sizing or gating input; I size by design, not by the clock or the headline.

Key levels (observational, unverified prints off my own path): DIA is not in the briefing's price block. Best proxies off my own path: 10-07 entry 511.37 / stop 510.93 / exit 511.07, 10-05 entry 508.37 / stop 507.54 / exit 510.75, 10-06 baseline entry 515.40, 10-01 entry 506.68. The ~508–511 area is the level that must hold to keep a bid under the leg; a decisive break and hold below it with the Dow's rate-sensitives leading lower is the value-leg fade tape where my longs stop out (live DIA has been drifting lower this week even as SPY held its shelf — named as observational, not a level already true).

The structural items I am watching: (1) whether DIA's response to the 10:00 AM Michigan print produces the same non-continuation shape that has made Window A 3W/9L on 12 — the standing session-character / cross-index-leadership filter for Window A proposal is proposed to TEMPER, never executed, and never a change to the 9:30–10:00 window, K=10, or max_sim ≥ 0.60; and (2) my similarity floor (max_sim ≥ 0.60) binding wide and often — on 10-08 it was the vote that bound (not similarity), but the recent vote-cleared similarity binds still cluster ~0.1 below the floor (structural gap, not a marginal graze; N=5), named for the October review, no tweak.

Invalidation: the standing invalidation is unchanged — if my runner logs a trade whose entry, stop, or exit cannot be reproduced off my own path, that is a pipeline escalation, not a trade to accept. A DIA break and hold below ~508–511 with the Dow's rate-sensitives leading lower → stand down entirely. No gate is amended; v2's parameter set (K=10, max_sim ≥ 0.60, vote ≥ 62%) is untouched and stays live. SPRT CONTINUE, LLR −2.282 (n=16, WR 18.8%, 3W/13L, −$82.17), 0.662 from the −2.944 DEGRADED boundary (unchanged since the 10-07 C loss; 10-08 was a no-fire). The boundary is not crossed; the pre-registered 09-18 desk-PM-review / TEMPER-within-5 protocol is not re-triggered.

Pooled note (Family 5)

Both active members are LIVE and eligible — firm-wide GO, no Tier-1 hard skip, and neither stack's blackout set (FOMC-decision/CPI/NFP/PCE) contains any of today's events (DAL, Michigan sentiment/inflation expectations, rig count). MNEME prints 0.45 / long / low, TRACE 0.40 / long / low (one notch lower on the stricter max_sim ≥ 0.60 joint gate and its still-fragile book). No gate is touched and no posture changes: MNEME's v5 set (K=15, max_sim ≥ 0.50, vote ≥ 62%) and TRACE's v2 set (K=10, max_sim ≥ 0.60, vote ≥ 62%) are untouched. Both member sections remain clear of the five peer-review dispositions (no per-stack spread beyond the gate-strictness discount; no gate-clear-streak or risk-ON-tape conditioning; no VIX-as-tailwind or VIX-as-"best"; no N=1 validation claim; charter stated as DRAFT — not ratified, stale feed named indeterminate). The shared shape today: the cleanest window structure of the week — no Tier-1 on any window entry, the 10:00 AM Michigan print second-tier at Window A's entry and inside Window B's observation (so B enters post-print), and only the low-impact 1:00 PM rig count near Window C. Monitoring clocks: MNEME SPRT CONSISTENT-WITH-BACKTEST (n=30, LLR +4.631, +$1,018.48); TRACE SPRT CONTINUE (n=16, LLR −2.282, 0.662 from DEGRADED, −$82.17). Named under Regime Watch: the always-long baseline gap — combined ≈ −$3,125.79 (MNEME baseline +$2,076.49 vs real +$1,018.48, gap −$1,058.01; TRACE baseline +$1,985.61 vs real −$82.17, gap −$2,067.78; TRACE baseline arm still missing its 10-07 row — backfill gap) — carried, named for the October review, nothing filed (not a second checkpoint). The candidate-pool contamination watch stands from 10-02 (TRACE's own 2026-07-16 diagnostic: real but not load-bearing). A same-day co-fire counts as one clustered observation.

Cadence Rule Header

Friday floor (WS5). This desk's reflection floor is Friday, with a second trigger of same-day-on-trade; today is Friday 2026-10-09 and the weekly floor fires regardless of trade activity. Scope is everything since the desk's last reflection — desks/house-mneme/reflections/2026-10-07-reflection.md (a backfill that covered Mon 10-05 → Wed 10-07) — so this period is two sessions: Thu 10-08 and Fri 10-09, both planned and both scored. Both active members stood down on both sessions — zero trades this period — so there is no same-day-on-trade content; the reflection is driven entirely by the floor and by the near-miss rows. GHOST remains frozen (Phase 2, Decision D2) — no reflection.

Pipeline context: clean this window. runner-health-2026-10-08.md and runner-health-2026-10-09.md both grade all ten agents CLEAR/ok, including both members; both members wrote daily artifacts both sessions; both plans were filed pre-market (10-08 04:37 PT, 10-09 04:32 PT) and both sessions are present in intelligence/plan-calibration.csv. No peer-review file has landed since the 2026-10-02 peer review; its dispositions remain in force and are applied below. One residual operational fact carried from the 10-07 backfill: TRACE's always-long baseline arm is still missing its 2026-10-07 row.

What Happened

Over two sessions the desk did nothing, and the honest content of this period is why — both stacks' gates stood them down on two up-and-down-adjacent tapes, and the always-long baselines traded both days and won both. Desk net this period: $0.00 on 0 trades (MNEME 0, TRACE 0). Cumulative books are unchanged from the 10-07 reflection: MNEME 30 trades, +$1,018.48, WR 46.7%; TRACE 16 trades, −$82.17, WR 18.8%; combined 46 trades, +$936.31.

The two sessions were structurally different, and the gates behaved differently on each.

  • Thu 10-08 was a two-tier, tech-led downside session — and both stacks were vote-blocked wide in all three windows with similarity clear. SPY closed 773.88 (−0.42% vs the 777.15 prior close; −0.13% open-to-close; 0.99× ATR(14) 6.77), QQQ 747.50 (−1.35%; 1.50× ATR), VIX 15.41 LOW. The driver was a discrete AI-growth/financing shock (an OpenAI revenue shortfall headline hit the technology complex) on top of Gulf/oil supply anxiety; the Dow held up relative to the Nasdaq (CNBC's "two-tier" read), and the EOD graded the morning narrative PARTIAL (right on headline sensitivity, wrong on the AI-specific sector structure). MNEME logged no_trade:no_signal — A:vote=53%/62% sim=0.888/0.5 B:vote=53%/62% sim=0.541/0.5 C:vote=53%/62% sim=0.592/0.5: the vote failed at exactly 53% in all three windows (a 9-point shortfall), similarity cleared comfortably everywhere. TRACE logged no_trade:no_signal — A:vote=50%/62% sim=0.955/0.6 B:vote=30%/62% sim=0.654/0.6 C:vote=40%/62% sim=0.718/0.6: also vote-blocked wide in all three windows with similarity clear — notably Window A's max_sim was 0.955, the highest similarity the desk printed all period, and the vote still sat at 50%.
  • Fri 10-09 was a contained, ranging, mildly risk-ON session with the cleanest window structure of the week — and here the two stacks' binding gates diverged. SPY closed 778.51 (+0.60% vs the 773.88 prior close; +0.29% open-to-close; 0.89× ATR 6.21), QQQ 751.26 (+0.50%), VIX 14.84 LOW (−0.57); the day's catalyst set (DAL Q3 miss-and-cut, weak Michigan sentiment 46.3, firmer long-run inflation expectations) was absorbed and the tape ended near its highs, final hour flat; the EOD graded the narrative STUCK. No scheduled print landed on any window entry — the plan named this the week's cleanest structure. MNEME again stood down: A:vote=40%/62% sim=0.757/0.5 B:vote=53%/62% sim=0.486/0.5 C:vote=60%/62% sim=0.644/0.5 — the vote bound all three (A −22 points, B −9, C −2), and Window B's similarity also failed at 0.486 vs the 0.50 floor (a 0.014 graze). TRACE stood down too, but on a different gate: A:vote=20%/62% sim=0.846/0.6 B:vote=80%/62% sim=0.598/0.6 C:vote=40%/62% sim=0.766/0.6 — Window B cleared the vote decisively (80%) and failed the similarity floor by 0.002 (0.598 vs 0.60), the desk's tightest miss of the period; Windows A and C were vote-blocked wide with similarity clear.

The single most important desk-level fact this period: two consecutive wide no-fire sessions on days the always-long baseline traded both windows and won both. The baseline (always long on the priority window, no KNN gate) booked MNEME +$36.96 on 10-08 and +$129.60 on 10-09 (both Window B), and TRACE +$383.67 on 10-08 and +$225.92 on 10-09 (both Window B) — ≈ +$776 combined across the two sessions while the two real stacks booked $0.00. TRACE's 10-08 baseline trade (+$383.67) is the largest single baseline day of the desk's recent record, and it landed on a session where the Dow out-performed the Nasdaq and TRACE's own vote gate sat at 50% — a clean instance of the day-selection gate declining a leg the structural long entry captured. This is descriptive, not a verdict (the escalation test is two consecutive monthly checkpoints and this is not one), but it is the sharpest widening of the baseline gap this quarter and it is exactly the Family 5 mechanism question the monitor exists to surface.

Both members' recent binding gate has been the vote (≥62%), and this period the vote never reached it in any of the desk's six active windows — with one marginal exception. MNEME's fires over the last cycle all cleared the vote at an identical 73.3%; this period the vote printed 53%, 53%, 53% (10-08) and 40%, 53%, 60% (10-09). TRACE's vote printed 50%, 30%, 40% (10-08) and 20%, 80%, 40% (10-09). The one window that came close was MNEME Window C on 10-09 at 60% — 2 points short (a shape it also produced on 09-25 C at 60%). I record the 60% as a marginal vote graze and I do not act on it — it is Window C (the flagged window), N=1–2, and moving a 62% floor for a 2-point miss would be a naked curve-fit, not evidence.

Forecast/calibration, stated with the caveats it needs — and this period the desk over-printed the fire rate after under-printing it last period. Both sessions scored:

  • 10-08: MNEME p_trade 0.45 → no fire → Brier 0.2025; TRACE p_trade 0.40 → no fire → Brier 0.16.
  • 10-09: MNEME p_trade 0.45 → no fire → Brier 0.2025; TRACE p_trade 0.40 → no fire → Brier 0.16.

So the desk printed the pooled base rate (0.40–0.45) on four member-days and realized 0-of-4 fires. That is an over-forecast of the fire rate, the mirror image of the 10-05→07 period (0.35–0.45 printed, 4-of-4 realized). The honest read is not "re-tune p_trade down" — it is that two adjacent 4-member-day samples pointing in opposite directions tell you only that N=4 is too small to re-anchor a base rate. The forecast-evidence firewall (edge-candidate filed 2026-10-02) forbids conditioning p_trade on either the fire-rate streak or this two-session drought; both are fire-rate features and both are descriptive only. No re-tune; no conviction change. The pre-market cross read was again recorded and not priced on either plan.

Two live threads moved, and only one moved because of anything that happened. TRACE's DEGRADED buffer is unchanged at 0.662 from the −2.944 boundary (SPRT CONTINUE, n=16, LLR −2.282) — two consecutive no-fire sessions leave the clock where the 10-07 C loss put it, neither widened nor narrowed, and the 09-18 desk-PM-review / TEMPER-within-5 protocol is not re-triggered. MNEME's Window C — the stack's standing thread — is unchanged in count at 5W/6L on 11 fires, sub-book PF ≈1.38 (no C fire this period). What did change is the similarity-floor item on TRACE: the 10-09 Window B miss at 0.598 vs 0.60 (0.002 short) is the first marginal vote-cleared similarity bind this quarter — the prior four clustered ~0.1 below the floor (a structural-gap shape), and this one sits at the margin.

Runner health / operational. runner-health-2026-10-08.md and runner-health-2026-10-09.md both CLEAR (all ten agents ok, both members present, daily artifacts written). No new peer-review file since 2026-10-02. One carried operational note: TRACE's always-long baseline arm is still missing its 2026-10-07 row (backfill gap from the 10-07 starved-runner re-run); the 10-08 and 10-09 baseline rows are present.

Event Risk vs. Expectation

  • Event risk was MEDIUM on both sessions and the firm was GO both days — no Tier-1 hard skip anywhere in the period. 10-08 carried initial/continuing jobless claims 8:30 ET, wholesale inventories 10:00 ET, the 30-yr Treasury auction 1:00 PM ET, and PEP Q3 before the open; 10-09 carried DAL Q3 before the open, U Michigan preliminary sentiment + 5-yr inflation expectations 10:00 ET, and the Baker Hughes rig count 1:00 PM ET. None is in either stack's blackout set (FOMC-decision/CPI/NFP/PCE), so both members were live and eligible both sessions. The calls were correct: neither session's catalysts produced a broad volatility shock, and no missed same-day Tier-1 occurred.
  • 10-08 — the events were absorbed, but the unlisted driver (AI-growth repricing) made it a two-tier session. Claims 197K (cons 200K), inventories 0.5% (cons 0.7%), the 30-yr auction solid (5.618% high, yields eased), PEP a cost-cut signal without verified figures — all second-tier. The session's real driver, the OpenAI revenue shortfall → AI-complex weakness (ORCL, NVDA), was not on the calendar and drove QQQ to −1.35% (1.50× ATR) while SPY held to −0.42% (0.99× ATR) — the EOD's morning-narrative grade of PARTIAL is fair. Neither stack's gates could have priced that headline; the gates simply didn't clear. Worth recording honestly: TRACE's Window A max_sim printed 0.955 — near-perfect similarity — on the session the Dow out-performed, and the vote still sat at 50%, i.e. the pattern library found a very close neighbour but the vote was indecisive; the gate stood down and the Dow leg then rose into the close.
  • 10-09 — a benign catalyst set and a ranging risk-ON tape, with the cleanest window structure of the week, and still no fire. Michigan sentiment 46.3 (below consensus 48.0 and the 48.1 prior) with 5–10-yr inflation expectations 3.5% (up from 3.4%) — a mildly negative growth/inflation signal the tape looked through; DAL missed and cut guidance on fuel costs, weighing airlines but not the broad tape; the rig count was LOW-impact. SPY ended +0.60%, near its highs, final hour flat. The plan had flagged this as the week's cleanest structure (no Tier-1 on any window entry); it delivered exactly that, and the gates still didn't clear — which is the point: the binding constraint this period was the vote's indecision on a contained tape, not a catalyst landing on an entry.
  • Invalidation clauses behaved. The standing stand-down clauses ("break and hold back below the SMA20 shelf with QQQ underperforming") were never met at any close in the period (10-08 SPY closed 0.86% above SMA20; 10-09 0.86% above), so no spurious stand-down fired — the stand-downs came from the gates, not from an invalidation trigger. The pre-market cross-asset read was recorded and not priced on both plans (standing forecast-discipline rule since 09-24).
  • Forward risk: the next verified Tier-1 is CPI 2026-10-14 (8:30 AM ET) — in both stacks' blackout set (a hard skip). Monday 2026-10-12 is Columbus Day (US cash closed), so the next regular session follows the holiday. Live threads into it: the contained-index-but-narrow-breadth / two-tier AI-complex divergence the 10-08 EOD flagged; the elevated long-term yields and higher-for-longer rates debate; and whether the vote's recent indecision (a contained-tape phenomenon) persists or the gate-clear rate recovers.

Per-Member Binding Gate Analysis

MNEME — binding gate this period: THE VOTE (≥ 62%), binding wide in all six active windows across both sessions (9–22 points short), with ONE marginal instance (10-09 Window C at 60%, 2 points short) and one secondary similarity graze (10-09 Window B max_sim 0.486 vs 0.50). The shape is REGIME — a decisive vote was structurally absent on a contained tape — not a threshold repeatedly grazed. No fix; wait.
  • The near-miss rows are unambiguous and the period's content is the vote failing wide. 10-08: A:vote=53%/62% sim=0.888 B:vote=53%/62% sim=0.541 C:vote=53%/62% sim=0.592 — all three windows failed the vote at exactly 53% (9-point shortfall) with similarity clear. 10-09: A:vote=40%/62% sim=0.757 B:vote=53%/62% sim=0.486 C:vote=60%/62% sim=0.644 — A −22 points, B −9, C −2. The vote is the binder; similarity is not, except secondarily on 10-09 B (max_sim 0.486 vs 0.50 — a 0.014 graze, but the vote failed there too, so it is not a vote-cleared similarity bind).
  • Regime, not calibration — stated with the count. Six window-days, the vote short by 2, 9, 9, 9, 22 points (and 9 again) — the shape is "a contained/mixed tape did not produce a decisive ≥62% vote in any window," i.e. the setup was structurally absent, not a floor being repeatedly touched. This reads REGIME. The one exception deserving a name: 10-09 Window C at 60% (2 points short) — a genuine marginal graze, on the flagged window (and the same C-at-60% shape appeared on 09-25). I record it; I do not propose touching the 62% floor for a 2-point miss — that is a curve-fit, and C is already the window I watch. No threshold change.
  • Window C — unchanged in count; no fire this period. Still 5W/6L on 11 fires, sub-book PF ≈1.38, recent run 1W/2L (10-01 stop, 10-05 win, 10-07 loss). No new instance; the standing open question to TEMPER is C's live character (why it gives back when it clears), not a change to the 62% floor or the 0.50 gate.
  • Similarity-bind item — one new non-qualifying near-miss. The 10-09 Window B max_sim 0.486 (0.014 vs 0.50) does not add to the vote-cleared similarity-bind count (the vote failed there too). The only recent vote-cleared similarity bind remains 09-29 B (0.485, vote cleared) → N=2 recent, below the desk's N≥3 bar. Carried, unchanged.
  • Thin-clear item — carried, no new instance. The four lowest Phase 3 clears remain 0.5447 (W), 0.5533 (L), 0.5553 (W), 0.5712 (W) → 3W/1L at N=4. No fire this period, nothing added.
  • Forecast: 10-08 p_trade 0.45 (low) → no fire → Brier 0.2025; 10-09 p_trade 0.45 (low) → no fire → Brier 0.2025. SPRT CONSISTENT-WITH-BACKTEST, sticky, LLR +4.631 (n=30, WR 46.7%, +$1,018.48) — unchanged across two no-fire sessions, nowhere near the ±2.944 boundaries.
  • Baseline monitor: MNEME baseline 70 rows / +$2,206.09 vs real +$1,018.48 → gap −$1,187.61 (widened ≈ +$166 over the period: the baseline traded +$36.96 and +$129.60 while the real book sat out). Named for October; escalation test (two consecutive monthly checkpoints) not met — nothing filed.

Verdict: REGIME-WIDE / NOT-CALIBRATION — the vote (≥62%) bound wide (9–22 points) in all six active windows across the two sessions; the setup (a decisive vote) was structurally absent on a contained, two-tier tape, not a floor repeatedly grazed. One marginal instance (10-09 C 60%, 2 points short) and one secondary similarity graze (10-09 B 0.486) are named, not acted on. Window C is unchanged (5W/6L, PF ≈1.38); SPRT sticky at LLR +4.631. No gate change.

TRACE — binding gate this period: BOTH GATES, in different sessions — the VOTE bound wide in all three windows on 10-08, and the SIMILARITY FLOOR (max_sim ≥ 0.60) produced the period's one genuine marginal graze on 10-09 (Window B: vote 80% cleared, max_sim 0.598 — 0.002 short). The aggregate similarity-bind count is now N=6, but this instance sits at the margin where the prior four sat ~0.1 below — the "structural gap" characterization is now MIXED. Named for October; no tweak.
  • The two near-miss rows, and they are different shapes. 10-08: A:vote=50%/62% sim=0.955 B:vote=30%/62% sim=0.654 C:vote=40%/62% sim=0.718 — vote-blocked wide in all three with similarity clear (Window A's max_sim 0.955 is the period's highest print: a very close neighbour, an indecisive vote). 10-09: A:vote=20%/62% sim=0.846 B:vote=80%/62% sim=0.598 C:vote=40%/62% sim=0.766 — A and C vote-blocked wide; Window B cleared the vote at 80% and failed similarity by 0.002 (0.598 vs 0.60).
  • The similarity floor is still the gate that decides me on vote-cleared sessions — and this is the first marginal instance of the quarter. Across my no-fire book, the vote-cleared similarity binds are now N=6: 08-03 C 0.589 (0.011), 08-18 C 0.473, 09-23 B 0.519, 10-06 B 0.508, 10-06 C 0.517, and 10-09 B 0.598 (0.002). Five of these clustered ~0.1 below the floor — a structural gap in the pattern library on those sessions, i.e. REGIME. But 10-09 B is a 0.002 miss — a genuinely marginal graze, not a structural gap. So the aggregate reads regime-shaped (N=6, dominated by the ~0.1 cluster) while one instance now sits at the margin. I name both honestly: the base characterization holds (structural gap, regime), the marginal instance is recorded and does not support moving max_sim ≥ 0.60 — a 0.002 miss is precisely the kind of number you curve-fit a floor to, and the desk's rule is no unilateral tweak. Named for the October Desk Review / a TEMPER conversation.
  • The DEGRADED clock is unchanged — two no-fire sessions neither widen nor narrow it. SPRT CONTINUE — n=16 (W3/L13), LLR −2.282, 0.662 from the −2.944 boundary (unchanged from the 10-07 C loss). Boundary not crossed; the 09-18 desk-PM-review / TEMPER-within-5 protocol not re-triggered. Explicitly not a sizing or gating input; standard 0.75% unchanged.
  • Window A — a wide-clearing leg the vote declined, and the desk's cleanest baseline datum. Window A max_sim 0.955 with vote 50% on 10-08 (the Dow's relatively resilient day, per the EOD's two-tier read): the pattern library found a near-perfect neighbour and the vote was indecisive. Window A is 3W/9L on 12; the standing proposal remains a session-character / cross-index-leadership filter for Window A — proposed to TEMPER, never executed, and never a change to the 9:30–10:00 window, K=10, or max_sim ≥ 0.60.
  • Window C — unchanged, 0-for-3 live (no fire this period). 09-09 −$12.78, 08-27 $0.00 (same-bar), 10-07 −$43.80. N=3 too small to call a character; folded into the window/session-character conversation.
  • Forecast: 10-08 p_trade 0.40 (low) → no fire → Brier 0.16; 10-09 p_trade 0.40 (low) → no fire → Brier 0.16. The entry strike held again — the pre-market cross read was recorded and not priced.
  • Baseline monitor: TRACE baseline 65 rows / +$2,211.53 (still missing its 10-07 row — backfill gap; traded +$383.67 on 10-08 and +$225.92 on 10-09 — both Window B) vs real −$82.17 → gap −$2,293.70, the largest single-stack component of the desk monitor (widened ≈ +$610 over the period). Named for October; escalation test not met — nothing filed.

Verdict: MIXED-GATE, REGIME-LEANING — on 10-08 the vote bound wide in all three windows with similarity clear (Window A max_sim 0.955 on the Dow's resilient day); on 10-09 the similarity floor produced the period's one marginal graze (Window B 0.598 vs 0.60, vote cleared at 80%). The vote-cleared similarity binds are now N=6, dominated by a ~0.1 structural gap, with one new 0.002 marginal instance — the "structural gap" read holds but is now mixed. DEGRADED clock unchanged at 0.662 from the boundary (two no-fire sessions), protocol not re-triggered. Window A gained no fire but logged its highest-similarity/indecisive-vote shape; Window C unchanged at 0-for-3. No gate change; named for the October review.

Narrative finding — a two-session no-trade period whose whole content is the vote's indecision, one marginal similarity graze, and a sharp baseline-gap widening. Neither member fired; the desk booked $0.00. The load-bearing answer to "regime or calibration?" is regime for both, with two named marginals: MNEME's 10-09 Window C vote at 60% (2 short) and TRACE's 10-09 Window B max_sim at 0.598 (0.002 short). MNEME's six window-days failed the vote wide (9–22 points) with similarity clear — the setup was absent, not grazed. TRACE's period carried both a wide-vote regime (10-08) and the similarity floor (10-09), where its vote-cleared similarity-bind count rose to N=6 but with its first marginal instance — the structural-gap reading holds and is now mixed. The desk-level fact that matters most: both always-long baselines traded and won both sessions (+≈$776 combined) while both real stacks sat out — TRACE's 10-08 baseline day (+$383.67) landed on the Dow's resilient two-tier session where TRACE's own vote gate printed 50% despite near-perfect Window A similarity — the sharpest single widening of the day-selection gap this quarter. This is descriptive, the escalation test (two consecutive monthly checkpoints) is not met, and nothing is filed — named for October. The forecast layer over-printed the fire rate (0.40–0.45 printed, 0-of-4 realized) after under-printing it last period (4-of-4 realized); N=4 both times, and the forecast-evidence firewall forbids re-tuning p_trade off either. SPRT clocks: MNEME sticky CONSISTENT-WITH-BACKTEST (LLR +4.631); TRACE CONTINUE (LLR −2.282, 0.662 from DEGRADED, unchanged). Combined desk cumulative: 46 trades, +$936.31. Runner health CLEAR both sessions.

Shared-session near-miss note (Family 5, same-mechanism): on 10-09 both stacks cleared no gate, but Window B is the informative shared window — MNEME's SPY B logged vote 53% / max_sim 0.486 (both gates short) while TRACE's DIA B logged vote 80% / max_sim 0.598 (vote clear, similarity short by 0.002). The baseline books confirm the same numbers off the members' own paths (knn_vote=53.3% knn_max_sim=0.4858 for MNEME's B; knn_vote=80.0% knn_max_sim=0.5983 for TRACE's B). So on 10-09's mid-day window the SPY library lacked both a decisive vote and a close neighbour, while the DIA library had a decisive vote and missed a close neighbour by two thousandths — a desk-level observation no single-member file can see.

Regime Watch

data-infra/regime/current.json (read 2026-10-09, status: ok): as_of 2026-09-22 — SPY day flat (open-to-close −0.08%), above 50d, drawdown bucket <2% (−0.58%), VIX 14.21 LOW (<18). The file now lags the live tape by thirteen completed sessions (09-23 through 10-08 are not folded in) — lagging, not unavailable.

Live tape against it: VIX 14.84 LOW (<18), −0.57 from the 15.41 prior close — still ~3.2 points inside the >18 trigger; SPY closed 778.51 (+0.60% vs the 773.88 prior close; +0.29% open-to-close), +1.37% above its SMA20 (767.98) — the shelf is support again, not overhead. QQQ 751.26, comfortably above its SMA20 (737.50). Honest limitation, unchanged: the charter's shared tag is spy_vs_sma50, and the EOD price block carries SMA20, not SMA50 — so I name the SMA20 shelf as the closest available proxy and say so rather than asserting a 50-day reading I do not have.

Charter status: DRAFT — not ratified (desks/house-mneme/CLAUDE.md). The consistency verdict below is against draft text, not a ratified constraint. My persistence rule counts a shift persistent only when at least one risk-off tag — SPY below 50d / drawdown ≥2% / VIX >18 — holds 5 consecutive sessions. No risk-off tag is active. But I state the peer-review-corrected version plainly (the 2026-10-02 peer disposition adopted firm-wide): I cannot resolve five consecutive sessions from a feed that stops on 09-22, so persistence is INDETERMINATE — not passed, not clean. An unobserved regime state is unknown, not benign.

Draft-charter consistency: consistent on substance — both sessions were on the orderly, LOW-VIX side, and the desk behaved as the charter says. Item 1 is the side we are on ("orderly, trending-up or range-bound tape with LOW VIX"): 10-08 SPY 0.99× ATR (0.42% down) / QQQ 1.50× ATR (tech two-tier), 10-09 SPY 0.89× / QQQ 0.63× ATR; VIX 15.41 → 14.84 LOW; both members live and eligible both sessions; combined exposure across the period was zero positions, no short leg, no overnight, nothing held past any close. The one honest negative worth naming: the desk's own cheapest protection is that it sat out both sessions — the charter's "friendly" side (orderly, LOW-VIX) produced no eligible setup this week, which is the mechanism's patience, not a malfunction. Watch and report only — a persistent shift goes to Desk Review as a recalibration / sit-out / new-mechanism proposal; I never change posture on a regime signal myself.

Own charter monitor, named as required, and restated stack-by-stack (per the 10-02 peer disposition): MNEME baseline 70 rows / +$2,206.09 vs real +$1,018.48 → gap −$1,187.61; TRACE baseline 65 rows / +$2,211.53 (still missing its 10-07 row — backfill gap) vs real −$82.17 → gap −$2,293.70; combined ≈ −$3,481.31. The pre-registered escalation requires each stack's baseline to match or exceed its own rolling PF at two consecutive monthly checkpoints; the September Desk Review (window through 09-05) did not escalate and this is not a second checkpoint — named for the October review, nothing filed. Gate-clear rate (0 of 6 active windows this period) and the two rolling-PF windows (MNEME 15-trade ≈1.36; TRACE 20-trade) are quiet within thresholds.

Open TEMPER Items (Carried Forward / New)

  • MNEME — the vote bound wide in all six active windows this period (NEW / regime-shaped; no action). 10-08 A/B/C 53% (9-point shortfall, similarity clear); 10-09 A 40% (−22), B 53% (−9), C 60% (−2). The decisive-vote setup was structurally absent on a contained/two-tier tape — regime, not a threshold graze. One marginal instance named: 10-09 Window C 60% (−2) (the flagged window; the same C-at-60% shape appeared on 09-25). No change to the 62% floor; watch and wait.
  • MNEME — Window C is the stack's live thread (carried; count unchanged). No fire this period; still 5W/6L on 11 fires, sub-book PF ≈1.38, recent run 1W/2L. Open question remains C's live character, not a change to the 62% floor or the 0.50 similarity gate.
  • MNEME — similarity-bind item (carried; N=2 recent, below bar; one new non-qualifying near-miss). The 10-09 Window B max_sim 0.486 vs 0.50 (0.014) does not add to the vote-cleared count (the vote failed there too). Only recent vote-cleared bind remains 09-29 B (0.485) → N=2 recent. Carried, unchanged.
  • MNEME — thin-similarity-clear item (carried; unchanged, no new instance). Four lowest Phase 3 clears stay 0.5447 (W), 0.5533 (L), 0.5553 (W), 0.5712 (W) → 3W/1L at N=4. No fire this period.
  • TRACE — the similarity floor binds on vote-cleared sessions; N=6, now MIXED (NEW instance; named for October). 10-09 Window B cleared the vote at 80% and failed max_sim at 0.598 vs 0.60 — a 0.002 marginal graze. Prior five binds cluster ~0.1 below the floor (08-03 C 0.589, 08-18 C 0.473, 09-23 B 0.519, 10-06 B 0.508, 10-06 C 0.517) — a structural gap (regime). The aggregate read holds but is now mixed by one marginal instance. Never a change to max_sim ≥ 0.60, K=10, or the window structure. No unilateral tweak.
  • TRACE — DEGRADED clock unchanged over two no-fire sessions (carried; not crossed). SPRT CONTINUE — n=16, LLR −2.282, 0.662 from the −2.944 boundary (unchanged from the 10-07 C loss). Boundary not crossed; the 09-18 desk-PM-review / TEMPER-within-5 protocol not re-triggered. Not a sizing or gating input.
  • TRACE — Window A session-character / cross-index-leadership filter (carried; no fire, but a telling shape). 10-08 Window A printed max_sim 0.955 (period-high) with vote 50% on the Dow's relatively resilient two-tier day — a near-perfect neighbour and an indecisive vote. Window A 3W/9L on 12; the standing proposal is a session-character / cross-index-leadership filter, never a change to the window, K=10, or max_sim ≥ 0.60.
  • TRACE — Window C live book 0-for-3 (carried; unchanged, no fire). 09-09 −$12.78, 08-27 $0.00, 10-07 −$43.80. Sample too small to call a character.
  • Desk — always-long baseline gap widened sharply across two no-fire sessions (carried; restated stack-by-stack). MNEME gap −$1,187.61, TRACE gap −$2,293.70, combined ≈ −$3,481.31 — the baselines traded and won both sessions (+≈$776 combined) while both real stacks booked $0.00. TRACE's 10-08 baseline day (+$383.67, Window B) landed on the Dow's resilient two-tier session where TRACE's vote gate printed 50% despite Window A max_sim 0.955 — the cleanest recent instance of the day-selection gate declining a leg the structural long entry captured. Descriptive only; escalation needs two consecutive monthly checkpoints — not met — named for the October review, nothing filed. Caveat: TRACE's baseline arm still has no 10-07 row (backfill gap).
  • Desk — forecast-evidence firewall (carried; honored; N=4 this period, opposite sign). The desk printed 0.40–0.45 across four member-days and realized 0-of-4 fires — an over-forecast, the mirror of last period's 4-of-4 under-forecast on similar prints. Both are fire-rate features, N=4, and explicitly not used to condition p_trade or conviction. No re-tune. The edge-candidate row (filed 2026-10-02) stands.
  • Desk — pipeline (operational, carried). Runner health CLEAR both sessions; both plans filed pre-market; both sessions scored. One carried gap: TRACE's always-long baseline arm is still missing its 2026-10-07 row (from the 10-07 starved-runner re-run). Named for the orchestrator.
  • Peer-review dispositions — 2026-10-02 (most recent) verified in force. (1) Baseline gap reported stack-by-stack on aligned checkpoints, not as a cumulative-dollar verdict (acted) — applied above. (2) Deterministic skips / gate-clear streaks are not forecast skill (acted) — applied: no conditioning on the vote streak or on the two-session no-fire drought. (3) The (b) forecast-evidence firewall edge-candidate (filed 2026-10-02). Standing dispositions all hold: no per-stack p_trade spread; no VIX-as-tailwind/"best"; no N=1 validation; charter stated DRAFT — not ratified; stale regime feed named indeterminate.

Desk Summary for Orchestrator

House Mneme's 10-09 Friday-floor reflection covers the two sessions since the 10-07 reflection — Thu 10-08 and Fri 10-09 — and both active members stood down on both: 0 trades, desk net $0.00, cumulative unchanged at 46 trades, +$936.31 (MNEME 30 tr +$1,018.48 WR 46.7%; TRACE 16 tr −$82.17 WR 18.8%). MNEME (SPY): no fire either session; binding gate = the vote (≥62%), binding wide in all six active windows (9–22 points short) with one marginal instance (10-09 C 60%, −2) and a secondary similarity graze (10-09 B max_sim 0.486) → REGIME-wide, not calibration — the decisive-vote setup was structurally absent on a contained tape; no fix; SPRT CONSISTENT-WITH-BACKTEST (LLR +4.631, unchanged). TRACE (DIA): no fire either session; binding gate = both — vote wide on 10-08 (Window A max_sim 0.955 / vote 50% on the Dow's resilient two-tier day) and the similarity floor on 10-09 (Window B vote 80% cleared, max_sim 0.598 vs 0.60 — a 0.002 marginal graze); the vote-cleared similarity-bind count is now N=6, dominated by a ~0.1 structural gap, with one new marginal instance → REGIME-leaning but now MIXED; named for October, no tweak; SPRT CONTINUE (LLR −2.282, 0.662 from DEGRADED, unchanged over two no-fire sessions). The desk-level fact that matters: both always-long baselines traded and won both sessions (+≈$776 combined) while both real stacks sat out — baseline gap now MNEME −$1,187.61, TRACE −$2,293.70, combined ≈ −$3,481.31 (descriptive, escalation test not met, named for October, nothing filed). Sessions: 10-08 two-tier tech-led downside — SPY 773.88 (−0.42%, 0.99× ATR), QQQ 747.50 (−1.35%, 1.50× ATR), VIX 15.41 LOW (narrative PARTIAL); 10-09 contained ranging risk-ON — SPY 778.51 (+0.60%, 0.89× ATR), QQQ 751.26 (+0.50%), VIX 14.84 LOW (narrative STUCK). Forecast 0.40–0.45 printed / 0-of-4 realized (an over-forecast, mirror of last period; firewall — no re-tune). Runner health CLEAR both sessions; no peer-review file since 10-02; TRACE's baseline arm still missing its 10-07 row. Next Tier-1 CPI 2026-10-14 (hard skip); Monday 10-12 Columbus Day (cash closed).

Reflection Filed

  • Trades taken: 0 (both members stood down both sessions) — no gate amendment; MNEME v5 (K=15, max_sim ≥ 0.50, vote ≥ 62%) and TRACE v2 (K=10, max_sim ≥ 0.60, vote ≥ 62%) untouched and live
  • GHOST: frozen (Phase 2, Decision D2) — no reflection written
  • MNEME and TRACE per-member compatibility files written (agents/mneme/reflections/daily_2026-10-09.md, agents/trace/reflections/daily_2026-10-09.md)

MNEME stood down both sessions on the vote (≥62%) binding wide in all six active windows (10-08 A/B/C 53%; 10-09 A 40%, B 53%, C 60%) with similarity clear — regime, the decisive-vote setup structurally absent; one marginal vote graze (10-09 C 60%, −2) and a secondary similarity graze (10-09 B 0.486) named, not acted on. TRACE stood down both sessions — vote wide on 10-08 (Window A max_sim 0.955 / vote 50%) and the similarity floor on 10-09 (Window B vote 80% cleared, max_sim 0.598 vs 0.60, a 0.002 marginal graze); vote-cleared similarity binds now N=6 (dominated by a ~0.1 structural gap, now mixed by one marginal instance) — regime-leaning, named for October, no tweak; DEGRADED buffer unchanged at 0.662. Both always-long baselines traded and won both sessions (+≈$776) while the real stacks sat out — baseline gap ≈ −$3,481.31 combined (descriptive; escalation test not met). Forecast: 0.40–0.45 printed / 0-of-4 realized — an over-forecast (firewall; no re-tune). Runner health CLEAR both sessions. No gate edits anywhere.
