Briefing reference: /Users/dadbot/Desktop/ClaudeBod/projects/dadbrain/Analysis/briefings/2026-09-28-pm.md PM: VESPER — the evening star, the first light after the close.
Read data-infra/regime/current.json (ASSAY), status: ok, as_of 2026-09-22 — now three sessions behind today (file mtime 2026-09-23 21:25 ET: the 09-23, 09-24 and 09-25 sessions have not rolled in). Treated as available-with-lag and flagged, not substituted for. Values: spy_day flat (spy_open_to_close_pct −0.08), spy_drawdown_bucket <2% (spy_drawdown_pct −0.58), spy_vs_sma50 above 50d, vix 14.21, vix_regime LOW (<18).
spy_drawdown_bucket <2%, vix_regime LOW, spy_vs_sma50 above — all three unchanged from the last read, and the live briefing is consistent with the lagged file (SPY prior close 771.35, above its 20-day SMA 765.34; the EOD has the S&P 500 within 0.7% of its all-time high, so a 5% drawdown is nowhere on the board). What moved is VIX 16.40, +1.53 off Friday's 14.87 close — still LOW (<18), but the closest this window has come to the boundary (~1.6 points under it), and it arrived on a weekend headline that went against the relief case, not on volume. Named as a level, not as a state change. (I cannot compute the live drawdown % myself this morning: data/market_data/SPY_daily_sip.parquet ends 2024-12-31, so the file's <2% is cited as-is with its lag and the live proxy is SPY-above-SMA20 plus the EOD's ATH distance.)## Regime Charter: consistent. The charter's own persistence rule — drawdown bucket 5-10% or worse, or non-LOW VIX, for five consecutive sessions — stands at 0 of 5; today is a 1st of 5 at most, and only if VIX closes non-LOW, which the print does not say. The <2% bucket is the one in which the cleared backtest's overnight premium was +3.00 net bps (N=715). Nothing here proposes a recalibration, a sit-out or a new mechanism.DRAFT — not ratified (desks/house-vesper/CLAUDE.md). I am held to its drafted terms, not a ratified constraint, and no regime signal changes posture here by itself. Today's plan tracks drafted clauses 2 and 5 exactly: I hold through, and I watch and report only.backtest_2026-07-12_daily.csv, N=1,759): worst historical overnight gap = 2020-03-13 → 2020-03-16, gross −1,102.97 bps, which at 0.90 notional is −9.93% of equity in one night; next worst −700.44 (2020-03-06→09), −649.69 (2020-03-11→12), −532.39 (2020-03-17→18), −410.50 (2024-08-02→05, the yen-carry unwind). The 90% size remains a default, not a figure derived from that tail — flagged for TEMPER/ZEUS, unchanged today, and made more concrete by the peer-review item below, which shows the weekend subpopulation is where the fat tail is concentrated: three of the five worst nights in the whole sample, including the single worst, are Friday-close → Monday-open holds. Both critics landed on the same finding from different angles: my 09-25 plan struck "tonight is an ordinary (weekend) draw from the same distribution" as its load-bearing reassurance, and the desk's own cleared ledger contradicts it. I committed on filing to carrying the sub-slice beside the pooled figures in every plan whose cycle spans a weekend, in both slice definitions, and to filing the sizing question rather than deciding it. This is that line — and today is exactly the plan it was promised for, because cycle 52 is a Friday-close entry resolving on a Monday open.

Forecast: p_trade 1.0, direction long, conviction med.
Cycle state, stated explicitly because it is the load-bearing detail: this morning resolves the weekend hold, and tonight opens an ordinary one. Cycle 52 — the Friday 2026-09-25 16:00 entry at the auction-inclusive anchor 771.40 (29.8452 shares, $23,022.56 notional, 90.0% of $25,580.62 equity) — exits at today's 09:31 bar open. That is a real long trade booked today, which is why p_trade is 1.0 and not a judgment call. Then at 15:50 ET I submit the MOC buy for cycle 53 at today's 16:00 auction-inclusive close, 90% of post-exit equity, held into Tue 2026-09-29 09:31 — a one-night hold, not a weekend one.
On conviction, stated plainly so it cannot be misread as a skip or a de-risk. VESPER has no signal gate, no event filter and no skip logic — the overnight hold is taken every session, so p_trade is 1.0 by construction on both legs. The med is not doubt about whether the trade happens (that is certain) and it is not permission to size down: it is the honest ex-ante discount on the width of tonight's two-sided tail. The meds this desk has used — 09-11, 09-14, 09-15, 09-16 (the CPI carry and the FOMC sequence), 09-22, 09-23, 09-24 and 09-25 — were eight of 47 prior plans, every one a night whose complement of the trading day was genuinely populated; every macro-silent night has been high. Tonight qualifies on the same test as Friday's did, for a different reason: the Hormuz channel that went against the relief case over the weekend is still live and unresolved — the proposal was rejected, not settled — and cycle 53 holds that live channel with no scheduled print inside its window (PCE is Wed 08:30, outside it: cycle 53 exits Tue 09:31; the PCE-carrying leg is the next one, Tue 16:00 → Wed 09:31, and that is tomorrow's plan's problem). A 16.40 VIX and a genuinely two-sided headline channel are what a wider tail looks like; a wider tail is what the premium is paid for. I do not de-risk into it and I do not skip it.
Cycle 52's resolution belongs to this morning, and it is a weekend draw — read against the slice line above, not against the pooled mean. It carries the rejected Hormuz proposal, a full weekend of development, and the Asia/Europe reaction into Monday's open. Whatever the 09:31 print shows, it is logged as one draw, not a finding — and this one is the 11th live Friday carry, the first since the desk accepted that the weekend subpopulation has the low mean and the fat tail. My mean over 51 completed cycles is +5.1049 net bps/day (SD 48.0, SE 6.7 → ~0.29 SE above the 3.151 replication anchor) with a realized net range of −122.77 to +114.89 bps and a win rate of 56.9% (29/51) — not my benchmark, by design. The last two cycles: 51 (Thu 09-24 16:00 entry 767.09 → Fri 09-25 09:31 exit 768.15) +$31.78 gross / +$29.48 net (+13.8185 / +12.8185 bps), a WIN, ending the two-loss run (49 −33.11, 50 −113.49 net bps).
strategy_v2.md §Entry Rules 5 — the cleared sample held every FOMC, CPI, NFP, PCE, expiry, rebalance and weekend night by construction), no conditioned sizing, no direction flip, no early entry, no skip. Any conditioning would have to first beat the unconditional baseline in a Bench study — none exists — without destroying the ~250 obs/yr validation velocity.Monitors check (direct run — agents/vesper/mechanism_watch.py, live for this plan, 2026-09-28):
==> OK: premium intact. No DEGRADED flag, nothing appended to monitor-flags.md, no TEMPER review. Nothing new has rolled in since Friday's reflection (cycle 52's exit rolls in at today's 16:30 ET refresh), so the windows are numerically where Friday left them. Stated so the read is not over-read: +6.358 is not "the premium" — the full-sample mean is +4.086 and the live 51-cycle mean is +5.105, so the honest expectation is reversion toward ~4 bps/day, and either window could fall back toward it without the mechanism being impaired. The floor sits roughly an order of magnitude below, and the pooled/window form is the conservative one (above).flagged: []). Simulation only — fills price at the anchors, so shortfall ≡ 0; decision-relevant only against real broker fills. Cycle 52's exit rolls in at today's 16:30.paper_trade.py L221 charges COST_BPS/1e4 × notional, COST_BPS = 1.0), roundtrip_shortfall_bps ≡ 0.0000. No realized-cost failure to fix — and no independent cost evidence in simulation. Item already landed in learnings.md (2026-09-24); not re-filed. Cited in the honest form, not as a check that passed.intelligence/plan-calibration.csv, every row p_trade 1.0 / long / Brier 0.0); today is the 48th. Per the 2026-09-23 peer review (House Slack and Reversal, independently), that perfect Brier is vacuous for an unconditional stack — p_trade is 1.0 by construction, so the desk cannot miss. It is not cited here as evidence of calibration or skill. The scored-session count is the only information in it.Runner check (starvation watch — done, and clear). agents/vesper/performance/daily_2026-09-25.md is present, and intelligence/runner-health-2026-09-25.md lists vesper: runner completed / daily artifact present / ok — so Friday's 300s-budget starvation pattern did NOT recur on the most recent session, and this is not a "no trade" to be read as a quiet state either way. Both 09-25 rows in trades.csv reconcile to the ledger to the cent (cycle 51 exit at 09:31:00 on 768.15; cycle 52 position-open at 771.40 / $23,022.56, matching state/position_ledger.json's open row and its equity_at_entry $25,580.62). Today's run-trades has not yet fired (13:30 PT; no runner-health-2026-09-28.md exists yet) — expected. Not mine to own, flagged once because the firm-wide health verdict was REVIEW: SURGE and TRACE were failed_or_timeout with missing 09-25 daily artifacts — for their own desks and TEMPER.
Continuity note for the desk record: 51 completed cycles, cumulative net +$580.62 (gross +$696.82, commissions $116.19), mean +5.1049 net bps/day, WR 56.9% (29/51) — not my benchmark. Last eight cycle nets (net bps): +23.55, +114.89, −18.31, +55.54, +10.12, −14.32, −49.14, +12.82. Cycle 52 exits 09:31 ET this morning (entry 771.40, weekend hold); cycle 53 enters tonight at standard 90% into a one-night carry. The 08-07 dispatch hole and the 09-02 reflection gap remain the only record gaps.
Invalidation: None structural. An unconditional strategy has no invalidation condition by design. The kill discipline is the mechanism watch on market data (trailing-250 and trailing-500 < 0.655 bps/day gross → TEMPER review), checked daily, not resolvable intra-session, and not conditional on Hormuz, the White House, oil, the Fed, the 10-year or the gap. Tonight's cycle 53 has no skip trigger by design (rules 4 & 5) — it carries today's close through tonight regardless of what the tape does into it. If the 09:31 open gaps against cycle 52, I take and log it; that is the price of the premium. A 2022-regime drawdown (≈ −11.4% on equity at 0.9 notional) is within tolerance and is not a kill signal; the −26.5% COVID drawdown (2020-02-12 → 2020-03-23, 8-month recovery) is inside the validated sample; the worst single night in that sample cost −9.93% of equity at today's 90%, and it was a Friday→Monday hold. The only stand-downs are force-majeure (closing-auction failure, account/regulatory constraint, exchange halt) — none indicated.
What I am watching: (1) Cycle 52's 09:31 exit print vs entry 771.40 — the weekend hold resolving after the diplomacy broke against the relief case; the pre-market indication is ~−0.4% and is an indication, not a print; no pre-assigned outcome, either branch is one observation. (2) Tonight's 16:00 auction print for cycle 53 — the anchor itself; entered at standard 90% of post-exit equity unconditionally. The only mechanical risk is a failed or erratic closing auction (a force-majeure stand-down class), not the price it prints. (3) The mechanism watch — trailing-250 +6.358 / trailing-500 +4.074 vs 0.655, the only number that can ever stop this desk, against a standing expectation of reversion toward ~4. (4) The PCE proximity clock — cycle 53 exits Tue 09:31, before Wednesday's 08:30 print; the leg that carries PCE is the next one, and naming that now is how I avoid the error of assigning a Tier-1 to the wrong cycle. (5) Whether the EOD generator's mechanism-watch line returns or is corrected — a fifth consecutive omission through 09-25, already on file; the direct daily run governs. After 09:31, flat and idle until 15:50 — doing exactly nothing, which is the discipline.

Plan reference: desks/house-vesper/plans/2026-09-28-plan.md EOD briefing: dadbrain/Analysis/briefings/2026-09-28-eod.md PM: VESPER — the evening star, the first light after the close.
One desk, one member, one unconditional overnight stack. Single-session window since the 09-25 filing. Cycle 52 — the weekend hold I entered Fri 09-25 16:00 at the auction-inclusive anchor 771.40 ($23,022.56 notional, 29.8452 shares, 90.0% of $25,580.62) — resolved this morning as a LOSS: exit print 767.64 at the 09:31 bar open, gross −$112.22 (−48.7425 gross bps), commission $2.30, net −$114.52 (−49.7425 net bps). It is the 7th-worst of the 52 completed cycles (46th-best; six cycles worse), and the realized net range is unchanged at −122.77 to +114.89 bps. It is also the 11th live Friday-close→Monday-open carry, and it is negative.
The weekend went against the relief case — and the plan named both branches, so this is a resolution, not a surprise. The plan's market read carried the live channel as the rejected Iran/Hormuz seven-day proposal and wrote both outcomes: "a credible step toward reopening is a dis-inflationary relief bid … a rejection or hardening counter-demand re-arms the squeeze." The tape delivered the rejection branch: the US-Iran standoff renewed oil-supply and inflation concerns, rising Treasury yields pressured duration-sensitive shares, and SPY opened 768.43 (−0.38% vs Friday's 771.35), printed a 763.74–769.53 range, and closed 765.49 (−0.76%); QQQ −1.06% to 736.55, weaker than SPY, exactly the rate-sensitive-growth lag the plan expected; VIX 16.07 (+1.20) — still LOW (<18). Nvidia's added $150B buyback was a conspicuous countertrend inside tech, not a broad bid.
The honest detail, stated once without a strategy implication: tonight the temporal exit finally sat BELOW the consolidated close again. My 09:31 print (767.64) landed −0.1028% versus the day's open (768.43) and +28.09 bps ABOVE the eventual close (765.49) — so a hold-to-the-consolidated-close variant would have exited ~28 bps worse tonight. That breaks the two-night run where the close ran above my 09:31 print (−43.7 bps on 09-24, −41.5 on 09-25), back toward the 09-23 night where it ran below (59.6 bps). Four nights, two signs in each direction — this is what a two-sided draw looks like, and it is the strongest statement yet that the exit clock (P27) is not a rule fitted to the last three sessions. The exit is temporal and evaluated over 250 observations, not the last four.
Cycle 53 then opened at tonight's 16:00 anchor — an ordinary one-night hold. Entry 765.58 at the 16:00 auction-inclusive SIP print, $22,919.49 notional (29.9374 shares, 90.0% of post-exit equity $25,466.10), held into Tue 2026-09-29 09:31 — not a weekend leg. Standard size, unconditionally (rules 4 & 5): no skip, no sized-down de-risk after a loss, no re-size on the strength of the previous win. Anchor coherence note, filed so it is not re-derived as a discrepancy: tonight's 16:00 auction-inclusive print (765.58) sits +1.176 bps ABOVE the EOD's consolidated SPY close (765.49) — the same sign class and few-bps magnitude as the 09-25 (+0.648), 09-24 (−2.607) and 09-23 (−3.907) prints. That is the designed anchor (P27): I trade the auction-inclusive 16:00 SIP bar, not the reported consolidated close. The anchor printed clean; the only stand-down class (a failed or erratic closing auction) did not occur.
Continuity for the desk record: 52 completed cycles, cumulative net +$466.10 (gross +$584.60, commissions $118.49), mean +4.0501 net bps/day vs the 3.151 anchor (SD ≈48.0, SE ≈6.66 → ~0.14 SE above), win rate 55.8% (29/52) — not the benchmark, by design. Cycle 52's −49.74 net bps pulled the realized mean from +5.1049 (n=51) to +4.0501 (n=52) — a −1.05 bps/day step, the largest single-cycle move of the recent stretch and the mirror image of cycle 51's +0.15. Plan calibration: the 09-28 row is scored clean (plan-calibration.csv: 2026-09-28,house-vesper,vesper,1.0,long,med,1,1,long,1,0.0 — p_trade 1.0 → traded 1, direction long → long hit, Brier 0.0), the 48th scored session. Per the 2026-09-23 peer-review disposition this Brier is vacuous for an unconditional stack and is not cited as evidence of calibration; the scored-session count is the only information in it. The 09-02 reflection gap and the 08-07 dispatch hole remain the only record gaps.
No gate bound this period in the terms the question defines — regime or calibration — and for the same structural reason as every prior reflection: an unconditional stack has no setup gate to bind and no threshold to graze. The blocked= near-miss notes are empty by construction, always; p_trade is 1.0 by design on both legs. Cycle 52's −49.74 net bps is an ordinary two-sided draw on the losing side, taken identically to the way cycle 51's +12.82 and the record +114.89 were taken — one trade, standard 90%, no skip, no de-risk of the weekend. But this period does have one genuinely new measured value, because the desk committed on 09-25 to carrying the weekend sub-slice: the Fri→Mon subpopulation produced its 11th live observation, and it was negative.
==> OK: premium intact. No DEGRADED flag, nothing appended to monitor-flags.md, no TEMPER review. Cycle 52's losing night LOWERED all three statistics — trailing-250 +6.358 → +6.022, trailing-500 +4.074 → +3.840, full-sample +4.086 → +4.062 — which is the exact mirror of two nights ago, when a losing night had raised trailing-250, and of Friday, when a winning night barely moved them. Three consecutive nights, three different directions of movement on the same losing/winning inputs: the trailing windows are window rolls as much as readings. The margin remains roughly an order of magnitude clear of the floor, and the honest expectation is still reversion toward ~4 (full-sample +4.062). One bad night does not threaten a mechanism any more than one good night validated it.roundtrip_shortfall_bps = 0.0000. Stated in the honest form accepted on 09-24 and already landed in learnings.md (2026-09-24, type: monitoring): the check is arithmetically fixed at ≈1.0 bps by the simulator, not measured — agents/vesper/paper_trade.py L221 charges COST_BPS/1e4 × notional with COST_BPS = 1.0 — so in simulation the realized-cost distance cannot bind. Decision-relevant only against real broker fills. No realized-cost failure to fix — and no independent cost evidence either. Not re-filed below: it is a closed item.flagged: []. Simulation only — fills price at the anchors, shortfall ≡ 0.Were the pre-registered kill/watch distances right for the session? Yes — and today the temporal distance is the only one that printed a directional value at all. The plan pre-registered exactly two distances (the realized-cost budget and the mechanism-watch kill floor) and deliberately pre-registered no price-based watch. The kill distance was never within 5.9× of binding; the cost distance printed at its line for the structural reason above. The distance that actually decided the night was again 09:31 versus 16:00 — and for the first time in three sessions it favored the clock over the close (+28.09 bps). Over 52 cycles the temporal distance remains the only one that has ever decided anything, and it now has four recent observations pointing two ways.
The one honest calibration note, logged so it is not re-litigated as hindsight — the weekend slice. The plan carried, per the 2026-09-25 peer-review commitments (House Slack acted, Reversal investigating), the cleared-ledger slice line beside the pooled figures: pooled n=1,759 mean +4.151 (SD 79.43); entry-Friday n=354 mean −1.738 (SD 102.97); exit-Monday n=329 mean −0.089 (SD 104.33); Fri→Mon overlap n=318 mean −0.615 (SD 105.55); three of the five worst nights in the sample, including the single worst (−1,102.97 bps, 2020-03-13→16), are Fri→Mon holds. The pooled mean was not quoted as a weekend leg's expectation. Cycle 52's −49.74 is a negative draw from that fat-tailed, low-mean subpopulation — a resolution, not a confirmation (the separation is still not separable from noise: Fri-entry minus rest −7.37 bps, SE 5.80, t≈−1.27; ex-2020 −2.85, SE 3.92, t≈−0.73). The live Friday-carry count moves from 10 to 11 and the live mean falls from +10.65 to +5.16 net bps — one observation halving the live mean, which is itself the evidence that n=11 cannot settle the sizing question. No skip, no sized-down weekend, no weekday-conditional rule (any such rule must first beat the unconditional baseline through the WS9 Bench and TEMPER, Key Rules); the sizing question stays filed to TEMPER/ZEUS, as it was on 09-25.
Read data-infra/regime/current.json (ASSAY), status: ok; as_of 2026-09-22 — now four sessions behind today (09-23, 09-24, 09-25 and 09-28 not yet rolled in); treated as available-with-lag and flagged, not substituted for. Values: spy_day flat (spy_open_to_close_pct −0.08), spy_drawdown_bucket <2% (spy_drawdown_pct −0.58), spy_vs_sma50 above 50d, vix 14.21, vix_regime LOW (<18). None of the three charter indicators (spy_drawdown_bucket, vix_regime, spy_vs_sma50) is moving state, and today's live briefing is consistent with the lagged file: SPY closed 765.49, still just above its 20-day SMA 765.15; VIX 16.07 (+1.20), still squarely LOW; no drawdown of 5% or more anywhere on the board. The charter's persistence rule is at 0 of 5 sessions, and <2% is the bucket in which the cleared backtest's overnight premium was +3.00 net bps (N=715). Charter status: DRAFT — not ratified (desks/house-vesper/CLAUDE.md) — I am held to its drafted terms, not a ratified constraint. Today's plan was consistent with it: I held the weekend through the geopolitical drawdown-to-the-open and took tonight's one-night carry unconditionally, exactly clause 2 of the drafted charter ("I hold through it. There is no signal, filter, stop or sit-out"). Watch and report only, nothing here changes posture.
| Dimension | Rating (1–5) | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Event risk call | 4 | HIGH held. No Tier-1 today (next PCE 09-30, 2 days; NFP 10-02, 4 days), and the rating came from the headline, not the calendar — the rejected Iran/Hormuz proposal. The plan wrote both branches ("a credible step toward reopening is a relief bid, a rejection or hardening counter-demand re-arms the squeeze"), and the tape delivered the rejection branch: oil and yields re-armed, equities lower, tech weaker. The scheduled items (Dallas Fed Texas Manufacturing 9.8, bill auctions) were subordinate, as predicted. One honest deduction: the plan's pre-market indication (~−41 bps gross) was directionally right and close to the realized −48.74 gross bps, but an indication is not a print and is not scored as a call |
| Session character call | 5 | My character read — "news-driven, gap-down bias led by rate-sensitive growth — direction and tier polarity explicitly unassigned" — held on every leg: SPY opened below Friday's close (768.43 vs 771.35), closed lower (−0.76%), and QQQ underperformed SPY (−1.06% vs −0.76%), the exact rate-sensitive-growth lag named. Ranges stayed contained (SPY true range 7.61 = 1.09× ATR, VIX 16.07 LOW) — no volatility break. The AM's own EOD grade on the two-tier check is STUCK (refusal to pre-assign polarity vindicated). My only character surface is the overnight leg, and it took the negative gap the weekend had set up |
| Setup prediction | 5 | Unconditional — the only forecast is exit/entry placement, and both landed exactly where pre-registered: cycle 52 exited the 09:31 bar open at 767.64, and cycle 53 entered 765.58 at the 16:00 auction-inclusive close at standard 90% size ($22,919.49 notional / 29.9374 shares), held into Tue 2026-09-29 09:31 — no skip, no conditioned sizing, no de-risk after a loss |
| Adjustments | 5 | None made — 90% notional, 16:00 auction-inclusive anchor, 09:31 exit, all standard. Eighth consecutive session of the same discipline with no drift: +114.89, −18.31, +55.54, +10.12, −14.32, −49.14, +12.82, −49.74 net bps — no de-risk of the weekend, no re-size "after a win," no relief-sizing after the loss, and no conditioning on the weekend sub-slice the desk had just agreed to carry. Cost realized 1.0000 bps — at the ≤ 1.0 bps/day budget line by construction (the 09-24 finding, already landed), roundtrip_shortfall_bps = 0.0. No stand-down condition indicated |
Overall plan accuracy: 4.75 / 5. Machine-scored: the 09-28 plan forecast p_trade 1.0 / long / med; cycle 52's exit booked a real long trade today (traded = 1), direction long → long hit — Brier 0.0, extending the perfect scored run to 48 sessions. The scoring subtlety, restated: "direction hit" means the booked trade was long, as forecast — the score does NOT care that the long lost $114.52, any more than it cared that Friday's long won $29.48. Calibration captures setup-firing fidelity, trivially perfect for an unconditional stack by design, and the med was again the honest ex-ante width of a populated two-sided tail — not a skip, not a size-down, and it changed nothing about the order.
backtest-agent/learnings.md before filing, per standing instruction. The candidate items were all examined: (1) the realized-cost check is arithmetic in simulation item is already landed (learnings.md 2026-09-24, type: monitoring) — today's 1.0000 bps is the same number for the same structural reason; re-filing would re-file a filed item. (2) The mechanism-watch silent-cache-fallback item stays RESOLVED (2026-09-04) — today's direct run returns a live as-of-today read (n=2,193, last exit 2026-09-28). (3) The EOD-generator mechanism-watch line item is unchanged — today's shared EOD desk-summary again makes no mechanism-watch assertion for this desk (it reports only the opened position: "VESPER bought SPY at 765.58, approximately $22,919 notional"), a sixth consecutive omission (09-21 through 09-28). Stated honestly: the line is omitted, not corrected, and a sixth identical omission is not a new finding class. Standing convention unchanged: the direct daily run governs; if the generator resumes asserting any mechanism-watch status for this desk, treat it as unreliable until a correctly-populated line is observed. Nothing else new beyond the weekend-slice datum above.performance/daily_2026-09-28.md again opens "No trade taken today" / Session P&L $0.00 even though its own cumulative line (n=52, +$466.10 net, WR 55.8%) correctly carries cycle 52's realized −$114.52 and reconciles to the ledger to the cent. On an exit day the exit leg books a real trade at 09:31 and cycle 53's position-open is a separate no_trade:position_opened row; the generator reads the open row, not the exit. Unchanged generator convention, not a new gap — the trades.csv row is the record. Also unchanged and not a data error: the perf log's SPY daily return prints N/A.runner-health-2026-09-28.md verdict CLEAR, vesper completed with today's artifact present (ok). Both trades.csv rows reconcile to the ledger exactly (cycle 52 exit at 09:31:00 on 767.64; cycle 53 position-open at 765.58 / $22,919.49, matching state/position_ledger.json and its equity_at_entry $25,466.10). Mechanism watch (GREEN, ~9.2× / ~5.9× floor, n=2,193, live as-of today), execution-cost SPRT (CONSISTENT, n=52) and edge SPRT (CONTINUE, n=52) all ran clean. SURGE and TRACE both returned ok today — the 09-25 failed_or_timeout state did not recur, and it is noted as recovered, not carried.roundtrip_shortfall_bps = 0.0. The weekend went against the relief case (the rejected Iran/Hormuz proposal), the branch the plan had written out; SPY −0.76% to 765.49, QQQ −1.06%, VIX 16.07 (LOW). Today the temporal exit finally beat the close: the 09:31 print (767.64) sat +28.09 bps ABOVE the eventual close (765.49) — the first time in three sessions the close ran below my print, a four-night two-sided record. Cycle 53 entered tonight at 765.58 ($22,919.49 notional / 29.9374 sh, 90.0% of $25,466.10 equity) — a one-night hold into Tue 09-29 09:31, not a weekend leg; tonight's 16:00 auction print sat +1.176 bps above the consolidated close (765.49) — the designed anchor (P27). Monitors: realized-cost 1.0000 bps, at the ≤ 1.0 bps budget line by construction — no realized-cost failure to fix; no independent cost evidence in simulation; execution-cost SPRT CONSISTENT-WITH-BACKTEST (n=52, LLR +19.500, flagged: []); edge SPRT CONTINUE (formal-only, not evidence of edge); mechanism watch GREEN — trailing-250 +6.022 / −500 +3.840 vs the 0.655 floor (n=2,193 pairs, last exit 2026-09-28; ~9.2× / ~5.9× above), full-sample +4.062 — a losing night lowered all three windows, the mirror of 09-24's loss raising trailing-250. Cumulative +$466.10 net over 52 completed cycles (gross +$584.60, commissions $118.49), mean +4.0501 net bps/day (SD ≈48.0, SE ≈6.66 → ~0.14 SE above the 3.151 anchor), WR 55.8% (29/52) — not the benchmark.
