Desk Plan — House Delta — 2026-09-24

Briefing reference: /Users/dadbot/Desktop/ClaudeBod/projects/dadbrain/Analysis/briefings/2026-09-24-pm.md PM: DELTA (independent read of my own desk — D3 superseded 2026-09-23; this is House Delta's own opinion, not a blend)

Regime Watch

data-infra/regime/current.json (read 2026-09-24, status: ok): as_of 2026-09-22 — SPY day flat (open-to-close −0.08%), above 50d, drawdown bucket <2% (−0.58%, i.e. −0.58%), VIX 14.21 LOW (<18). The file lags the live tape by two sessions (09-23 not yet reflected); not stale enough to write unavailable, but named as behind the tape. The briefing's own VIX is 16.13 (+0.95 vs prior close 15.18), still LOW.

Consistency with House Delta's ratified ## Regime Charter (desks/house-delta/CLAUDE.md): consistent — no non-baseline tag active. Walking my charter's own indicator list (item 5): spy_drawdown ≥ 5% — no (<2%); vix_regime MID or HIGH — no (LOW); spy_vs_sma50 below 50d — no (regime file: above 50d). Today's plan changes no posture: long-only, intraday, flat by 15:30, one position. Two things are moving toward the risk-off side and are worth naming, neither a shift: (1) VIX has risen two consecutive sessions (14.14 → 15.18 → 16.13) while staying squarely LOW and ~14 points below my 30 hard skip; (2) SPY sits only +0.35% above its SMA20 (767.93 vs 765.26) after yesterday's tech-led decline. Precision matters here: my charter's actual tag is vs SMA50, and the briefing carries no SMA50 level for SPY — so proximity to that specific threshold is unmeasured today, not "one day away"; the regime file's own above 50d tag (as_of 09-22) is the only reading I have. My charter's persistence rule needs the same non-baseline tag for 5 consecutive sessions before it is persistent, and nothing is near that. Own-desk charter watches: rolling LONG PF against TEMPER's 1.2 floor (last reading 1.183 — below, and the "two consecutive 6-month windows" wording remains undecidable at this book age, carried to TEMPER), and per-pair PF (AMD→TSM n=10, PF 0.88, under watch). Watch and report only — nothing filed today; a persistent shift goes to Desk Review as a recalibration / sit-out / new-mechanism proposal.

Shared Market Read

  • Event risk today: MEDIUM — no Tier-1. Next hard skip PCE Sep 30 (6 days), then NFP Oct 2, CPI Oct 14, FOMC Oct 28. Today's intraday items: 8:30 ET jobless claims (cons. 201K / prior 196K) and Int'l Transactions; 10:00 New Home Sales (prior 607K SAAR); 11:00 KC Fed; and the Trump–Xi bilateral session in Washington all day with a state dinner in the evening — outcome pending, HIGH headline risk, two-sided and un-timeable. Costco (COST) Q4 after the close — tomorrow's tape, not today's, and I do not position for it intraday. Firm-wide status GO; regular Thursday session. MEDIUM is not one of my hard skips (FOMC/CPI/NFP/PCE, VIX ≥ 30), so nothing here stands me down by rule.
  • Session character expected: gap-down bias, tech-led, event-capped — and this is a polarity change from the last three sessions, not a repeat of them. Futures are lower across all three majors with the Nasdaq complex underperforming the Dow; the AI/semiconductor complex is again the weak leg, with chip and memory names lower pre-market after Wednesday's bond-market selloff (10-yr at its highest since 2007, 5-yr touched 5%, Brent back above $100). The briefing explicitly declines to assign index direction: contained, two-tier, direction unknown. Structure is expected to form after the 8:30 block, with summit headlines governing the middle of the session.
  • VIX regime: 16.13 LOW (<18) — my best backtest regime (dev PF 2.22 in VIX < 18 on my own LONG tabulation; the chassis's documented inversion — supply-chain lead-lag performs worse in 18–28). LOW is necessary but not sufficient today: the regime is favorable and the sector's direction is not.
  • Key levels: index context (Alpaca-verified, prior close 09-23): SPY 767.93, above SMA20 765.26, ATR(14) 6.92, prior-day range 766.50–773.00; QQQ 741.17, above SMA20 718.23, ATR(14) 9.49, prior-day range 738.25–747.12. Trailing ATR is not elevated — both legs closed ~1.0× ATR — so an open outside roughly ±0.5% on SPY would be a genuine gap, not noise. Yesterday's session extremes (QQQ 738.25 / 747.12; SPY 766.50 / 773.00) are the levels that matter, not new vol bands.
  • Macro backdrop: two live channels on top of an unchanged tape — a long-dated yields / oil squeeze doing the actual damage to high-multiple tech for a third session, and a pending Trump–Xi bilateral whose base case is pageantry over substance (the suspension lapses Nov 10; consensus expects a signal of extension, not a settlement). Energy and real assets hold; rate-sensitive tech pays.

DELTA — Lead-Lag Pairs (NVDA→ASML, AMD→TSM), LONG-only

Call: setup present as a live measurement, but the tape is shaped against my LONG branch — p_trade 0.12, direction long, conviction low. I expect a no-trade, and I am saying so plainly rather than hedging. This is not a stand-down day: the engine runs (no Tier-1, VIX 16.13 LOW, firm GO), no gate of mine blocks it, and I do not pre-empt a signal. But for the first time in four sessions the pre-market driver points away from my entry rather than toward it — the semis complex is the named weak leg, gapping lower on a rate shock, exactly the shape my up-branch needs inverted.

What changed since yesterday, stated without spin. Yesterday I priced this stack at 0.30 on the premise of "a third consecutive session of a semis leadership bid." That premise failed on the tape: 09-23 logged no_trade:no_signal with AMD −1.09% and NVDA −0.15% — both leaders inside the ±1.5% floor, in the direction the driver implied. My 0.30 scored a Brier 0.09. And the two peer critiques filed against this desk on 09-23 — House Echo and Reversal, independently — both made the same point, which I accepted in writing: retiring my five-week stand-down argument on two wins in a sector-wide bid was recency-weighting. A long TSM position in a rising semis tape wins whether or not AMD led it; two wins in one tape shape cannot validate a lead-lag edge.

So the stand-down argument is restored to LIVE and PROVISIONAL status — not retired. My standing five-week argument was that a complex-wide AI-chip bid reprices leader and laggard on one systematic factor, so it cannot produce the idiosyncratic design→manufacturer cascade my edge actually samples. That argument is live again, and it is directly load-bearing today: the named driver is a sector-wide de-rating of the whole AI/memory complex on a rates shock — beta, in the opposite direction. It stays provisional rather than settled, in the correct direction: it is not withdrawn until the AMD→TSM cell shows PF above 1.0 at n ≈ 15 or more (currently n=10, PF 0.88), and it is not re-confirmed by today either. An outstanding commitment from the same disposition stands and is not yet executed: I owe an AMD return net of SMH/SOXX for 09-21 and 09-22 (the leader-vs-basket residual), to be computed in today's reflection. The p_trade cap of 0.25 holds until that residual is positive.

Setup present: unlikely. My signal is not a pre-market level — it is the leader's first-hour return off the 09:30 cash open, read at 09:55, vs. ±1.5%: NVDA ≥ +1.5% → buy ASML at the 10:00 bar open (primary, edge-carrying cell, live 2W/0L, dormant since 08-03) and AMD ≥ +1.5% → buy TSM at the 10:00 bar open (secondary; n=10, WR 40.0%, PF 0.88 — still sub-1.0, not repaired). A leader ≤ −1.5% is the disabled-SHORT branch (ENABLE_SHORT = False) → no trade by rule, not a missed LONG. And that second branch is not hypothetical — it is the ledger's modal outcome on exactly this tape shape: 10 of 47 scored sessions resolved to no_trade:short_disabled, with leader first-hour readings of −1.55% to −4.51% (07-15, 07-24, 07-27, 07-28, 07-31, 08-11, 08-19, 08-24, 08-27, 09-08). A down-bias semis day generally does not produce a LONG miss; it produces the disabled branch.

Why 0.12, and why not lower. I ran my own forecast buckets against intelligence/plan-calibration.csv (the standard I demanded of another desk in yesterday's peer review, applied to myself):

p_trade bucketscored plan daysfiresrealized fire rate
0.00–0.101200.00
0.12–0.151330.231
0.18–0.251220.167
0.30–0.601030.30
all4780.17 (mean Brier 0.1427)

My unconditional realized fire rate is 0.17, and the buckets are non-monotone — which is itself the finding: my "high" days have realized ~0.30 and my low days 0.00, but N per bucket is 10–13 and the 0.30–0.60 bucket is loaded with the strongest-tape sessions. So today I price below the unconditional 0.17: the driver has inverted, not merely gone quiet, and the sector is the tape's named weak leg. I am not going lower than 0.12 for one honest reason: a gap-down open can V-reverse, and my first-hour return is measured off the 09:30 print, not the prior close — so a leader rallying off a weak open registers as a positive first-hour move. That reversal path, in a complex with genuinely elevated dispersion (rate shock into MU's Sep 30 print, Burry's disclosed fresh shorts in MU), is the one live route to a +1.5% clear, and it is why this is 0.12 and not 0.02. I am also deliberately not carrying forward the 0.15 I anchored on through most of September: the tape is worse than those days, and the cap I committed to yesterday (≤ 0.25) is comfortably met.

Why conviction is low — and the two specific reasons, one of them new. (1) The whole-branch reversal above: the driver points the wrong way, and my low bucket has never fired (0/12). (2) A laggard-leg reason, promoted from a note to a conviction input, per my own 09-23 disposition: TSM — my laggard on the secondary pair — is itself a chip name in a chip-led selloff. Yesterday I flagged "pre-consumed repricing" as an expectancy note and the peer critique said it should be a reason to hold conviction flat; I accepted that, and today it is stronger, because the laggard is not just pre-moved, it is on the wrong side of the sector's driver. If the AMD→TSM branch fires today, the laggard I am buying is a name the tape is actively selling. That is a stated reason to hold conviction flat/low, not a gate.

Sizing vs. event risk: standard 0.75% single-position risk, unchanged — no parameter adjusted. Event risk MEDIUM is not a hard skip, and my hard 15:30 flat + 2.0× ATR(14, 5-min) stop carry zero overnight and zero event exposure by rule, so the two-way summit headline risk and the post-close Costco print fall structurally outside my holding period. I am not inventing a thin-tape size-down or a headline buffer: the stop and the flat already bound the exposure, and a unilateral parameter move off a morning read is exactly what I told another desk not to do yesterday. If an amendment is ever wanted here, it goes to TEMPER as an amendment — never a plan-morning tweak.

Session-character fit: poor — the worst fit in four sessions. A contained, two-tier, down-bias, tech-led tape is the mirror of what my up-branch needs: a large positive idiosyncratic leader impulse that the laggard has not yet followed. The tape does not block the mechanism (the engine measures what it measures), it simply supplies the wrong-signed driver — which is why the probability drops rather than the plan standing down.

Key levels (mine only): the only load-bearing number is each leader's first-hour return off the 09:30 cash open, read at 09:55, vs. ±1.5% (NVDA→ASML primary; AMD→TSM secondary). Index context for gap-sizing: SPY 767.93 / SMA20 765.26 / ATR 6.92; QQQ 741.17 / SMA20 718.23 / ATR 9.49 — normal-sized trailing ATR, so ±0.5% on SPY is the honest noise floor at the open.

Documented data gap — checked, still not filled. Neither firm input carries a verified NVDA / ASML / AMD / TSM pre-market level. I ran the required external check and it did not produce a usable number: the ticker/widget quotes returned were undated and aggregate across sessions (the exact trap the briefing's Reconciliation Notes name), and no dated, same-session pre-market level for any of my four legs was retrievable. The one dated, same-session, instrument-level print I could verify is memory names MU / SNDK ≈ −1.5% to −2% in early pre-market Thursday (2026-09-24) — which corroborates the briefing's "chip and memory names lower pre-market" but is not one of my four legs. So: no instrument-level price is adopted for NVDA, ASML, AMD or TSM, and all four pair inputs are confirmed live at the cash open. This is a stated data-source gap, not a level I have chosen to skip.

Invalidation / no-trade reasons (all binding today):

  1. Leaders opening broadly down ≥1.5% = the disabled-SHORT side (ENABLE_SHORT = False) → no trade by rule — and on this tape shape, the most likely single outcome (10 of 47 scored sessions).
  2. Any intraday VIX ≥ 30 closes consideration (14 points away).
  3. A hawkish rates read at 8:30 — a soft claims print (≥ the 201K consensus) reads as permission for more hikes under Barr's "labor risks receded, inflation risks increased" framing, pushes yields higher and strips the high-multiple complex further; a hot print is the first crack in that case and is the more favorable (not guaranteed) route to a reversal clear. A quality read on any open impulse, not a parameter change.
  4. Hard skip: PCE Sep 30 (then NFP Oct 2, CPI Oct 14). No additional stand-down is pre-registered.

Withdrawal conditions — stated, not armed today (my 09-23 commitment to the Reversal critique, which asked me to say what would pull a raised number back down). These bind the next time I price this stack above 0.25: I withdraw to 0.15 or below on any one of — (a) a leader clear while the basket is flat (an idiosyncratic clear that still fails), (b) a losing trade in a crowded-bid tape, or (c) a non-positive leader-vs-basket residual (the AMD-net-of-SMH/SOXX computation I owe). Today's 0.12 is already below 0.25, so this is a standing statement of terms, not a lever in play.

Watch items (informational only — not entry signals):

  1. Whether the semis complex decouples upward from a tech-led down tape — the live, provisional form of the stand-down question, and today the deciding read: an idiosyncratic leader clear on a day the sector is sold is the strongest possible evidence for my edge; a leader ≤ −1.5% (the disabled branch) is the modal outcome and no evidence either way.
  2. The 8:30 claims block as the tone-setter for my 09:30→09:55 window, and each summit headline as a two-way tape-mover (out of my holding period by 15:30).
  3. The AMD→TSM cell's state (n=10, WR 40.0%, PF 0.88 — still sub-1.0, no recovery declared) and the desk's two standing instrument gaps: the leader-vs-basket residual I owe in today's reflection, and the traded-day near-miss logging gap (the non-firing pair's first-hour value is still lost on traded days, so my primary NVDA→ASML cell's proximity remains unmeasured, not distant, on exactly the days I am live).

Book state (carries forward): cumulative +$159.61 across 12 LONG trades, 6W/6L, WR 50.0%, gross PF 1.183. SPRT n=12, LLR +0.597, CONTINUE (+2.347 to CONSISTENT-WITH-BACKTEST, −3.542 to DEGRADED). NVDA→ASML 2W/0L — quality cell, trigger unseen since 08-03, blocking value on traded days unmeasured. AMD→TSM n=10, WR 40.0%, PF 0.88 — still sub-1.0; the 09-05 stop-calibration diagnostic (read NO) remains pending TEMPER cadence-ratification. Rolling 6-month PF 1.183 < 1.2 — the "two consecutive 6-month windows" wording is undecidable at this book age (the trailing-180-day cutoff contains all 12 Phase 3 trades), a monitoring-instrument question for TEMPER, never a unilateral gate tweak.

Operational item (desk-top priority, carried): the per-agent 60s run-trades watchdog is at six flags (09-09, 09-10, 09-15, 09-17, 09-21, 09-22). Backfill has recovered every genuine session, but the 18:00 EOD summary has twice read DELTA as no-performance-file with the artifact present, so the ledger-freshness post-run check must validate the ledger, not merely the file — still unwired. My forecast is scored against trades.csv: if the watchdog trips today, no row is produced and my 0.12 is scored against a pipeline absence rather than a tape outcome. A pipeline absence is a REVIEW state, never a strategy stand-down and never a near-miss.

Plan Filed

  • Filed: 2026-09-24 04:46 PDT (pre-open)
  • Frontmatter forecasts complete for every active member: yes (delta — p_trade 0.12, direction long, conviction low)
  • Briefing event risk confirmed: MEDIUM — no Tier-1 (next hard skip PCE Sep 30, 6 days); 8:30 claims 201K cons./196K prior + Int'l Transactions, 10:00 New Home Sales, 11:00 KC Fed, all-day pending Trump–Xi bilateral with evening state dinner, COST after the close; VIX 16.13 LOW; SPY 767.93 above SMA20 765.26 (ATR 6.92); QQQ 741.17 above SMA20 718.23 (ATR 9.49); firm-wide GO; regular Thursday session
  • Verdict: Setup present as a live measurement, tape shaped against the LONG branch — p_trade 0.12, direction long, conviction low. I expect a no-trade; this is not a stand-down. The three-session "semis leadership bid" premise failed on the tape yesterday (09-23 no_trade:no_signal, AMD −1.09%, NVDA −0.15%; my 0.30 scored Brier 0.09), and the driver has now inverted — the AI/semis complex is today's named weak leg, gapping lower on a rates shock. Per my own 09-23 dispositions: the five-week complex-wide-bid stand-down argument is restored to live, provisional status, the p_trade cap of 0.25 holds until I compute the AMD-net-of-SMH/SOXX residual for 09-21/09-22, and TSM's position as a chip name in a chip-led selloff is a stated reason to hold conviction flat. 0.12 sits below my unconditional realized fire rate of 0.17 (8 fires / 47 scored days; bucket table above) because the driver inverted, and above zero because a gap-down V-reversal can clear the floor off the 09:30 print in an elevated-dispersion complex. Standard 0.75% sizing, no parameter adjusted; hard 15:30 flat + 2.0× ATR stop put the two-way summit headline risk outside my holding period. Binding gate = leader first-hour return read at 09:55 vs. ±1.5%; modal no-trade path = leader ≤ −1.5% → disabled-SHORT branch (10 of 47 scored sessions). Documented data gap: no verified NVDA/ASML/AMD/TSM pre-market level exists in either firm input, and the required external check produced only undated cross-session widget quotes — the single same-session verified print (MU/SNDK −1.5% to −2% pre-market) is not one of my four legs; no instrument-level price adopted, all four legs confirmed live at the cash open.

House Delta — Desk Reflection — 2026-09-24

Cadence rule: Weekly/Friday or same-day-on-trade (WS5 per-desk cadence). Today is a Thursday, but DELTA logged a real trade, so the desk reflects same-day. Period covered: 2026-09-22 (last desk reflection) → 2026-09-24. Scheduled sessions in window: 09-23 (Wed), 09-24 (Thu).

Single-member desk — the desk reflection is DELTA's own analysis at desk scope; the per-member compatibility file (agents/delta/reflections/daily_2026-09-24.md) is written separately and remains first-person.

Regime watch: data-infra/regime/current.json — status: ok, as_of 2026-09-22 (file lags the live tape by two sessions): SPY day flat (open-to-close −0.08%), above 50d, drawdown bucket <2% (−0.58%), VIX 14.21 LOW (<18). Live tape from today's EOD: VIX close 15.67 (still LOW, +0.49), SPY 767.29 (−0.08%, 0.85× ATR), QQQ 741.09 (−0.01%, 0.85× ATR), both above their SMA20s. Not stale enough to write unavailable, but behind the tape and named as such. Walking my charter's own indicator list: spy_drawdown ≥ 5% — no; vix_regime MID/HIGH — no (LOW); spy_vs_sma50 below 50d — no. The one thing moving is VIX's three-session drift up off 14.14 (→15.18→16.13 intraday→15.67 close), still ~14 points below my 30 hard skip and nowhere near the charter's 5-consecutive-session persistence test. Watch and report only — nothing filed, no posture change. Precision note: the desk plan called the charter "ratified" (09-24), and the morning-briefing lineage has repeated that wording; the charter's own header in desks/house-delta/CLAUDE.md still reads DRAFT — not ratified. I am held to it either way, but I should not describe my own governance document as ratified while it says otherwise. Flagged below.

Per-Member Binding Gate Analysis (delta — the whole load)

Binding gate this period: the LONG up-branch — leader first-hour return ≥ +1.5% off the 09:30 cash open, read at 09:55. It bound on 09-23 (no fire) and cleared on 09-24 (AMD +2.56%, 1.06pp of room). The near-miss data says REGIME, not calibration. The calibration failure this period is mine, in the forecast, and it is the worst one of the series.

  1. The near-miss record contains exactly one no-trade session this period, and it is not a graze. 09-23 logged no_trade:no_signal with AMD −1.09% and NVDA −0.15% — both inside the ±1.5% floor, and both on the wrong side of it. There is no threshold being approached from below, let alone repeatedly grazed: the tape on 09-23 was a mildly down, sub-ATR session (SPY −0.63%) whose leaders simply did not produce a directional impulse. N=1, directionally wrong, structural absence. No calibration conversation on the up-floor is available or warranted this period. The floor then cleared the next session with 1.06pp of room and the trade printed +$406.84 — a third consecutive clear-and-win.
  2. The load-bearing finding of this period is a forecast failure, and it is the worst Brier of my Phase 3 series. I priced p_trade 0.12, direction long, conviction low, stated in writing that "I expect a no-trade" — and the engine fired my largest trade of the cycle. Brier (0.12 − 1)² = 0.7744, versus 0.7225 on the three previous worst (07-22, 08-13, 09-21). This is the 6th documented under-forecast (07-22, 08-03, 08-13, 09-21, 09-22, 09-24) and the most severe, because it is not a near-miss of a defensible number: 0.12 was my lowest forecast of the entire series, printed on the day the book produced its best trade.
  3. My own plan's bucket table contradicted the number I then used, and I did not notice while writing it. The 09-24 plan tabulated my own scored history as: 0.00–0.10 → 12 days, 0 fires (0.00); 0.12–0.15 → 13 days, 3 fires (0.231); 0.18–0.25 → 12 days, 2 fires (0.167); 0.30–0.60 → 10 days, 3 fires (0.30); all 47 days → 8 fires (0.17). I priced 0.12 and justified it as "below my unconditional realized fire rate of 0.17." But 0.12 does not sit in the 0.00–0.10 bucket — it sits in the 0.12–0.15 bucket, whose realized fire rate is 0.231, the highest of any bucket below 0.30. The number I chose was below the unconditional mean and above only in the sense of being below the mean of the one bucket it belonged to. I wrote the disconfirming statistic into the same document and then failed to read it against my own choice. That is the single sharpest thing this reflection has to say: my p_trade is being set by the pre-market narrative ("the driver inverted, the sector is the weak leg, the stand-down argument is live again") rather than by the dispersion/mechanism frequency the number is supposed to measure.
  4. The disposition I wrote on 09-23 named this exact error class, and I then committed it. In accepting House Echo's and Reversal's critiques I recorded: "p_trade forecasts whether the floor fires, and the floor did clear twice. That is a fire-rate question, and it is separate from whether the cell has an edge. I should have written those two claims apart." On 09-24 I did the opposite — I let an edge-quality concern (is a clear idiosyncratic or is it sector beta?) pull the fire-rate probability down. The two claims were written together again, in the other direction. This is now a repeatable, self-documented failure mode with a name, not an anchoring accident.
  5. Both period forecasts are wrong in the same direction — my p_trade is being driven by the prior session's tape. 09-23: 0.30 on "a third consecutive session of a semis leadership bid" → no fire (Brier 0.09, correctly priced by luck of the narrative matching). 09-24: 0.12 on "the driver inverted, the sector is the tap's weak leg" → fired and won. A 0.30 → 0.12 swing in one session, in the wrong direction relative to outcomes. The bucket table's non-monotonicity — the finding I identified and then failed to act on — already says these narrative buckets do not separate the fire rate. Proposed to TEMPER (never applied unilaterally): re-anchor p_trade to a mechanical dispersion state (trailing intraday ATR relative to its own median, VIX bucket, and the size of any gap off the prior close) rather than to the driver narrative, and test whether that separates the fire rate where the narrative buckets do not. This is a forecast-methodology change, not a gate change, and it is the desk's own item.

The leader-vs-basket residual is computed — the commitment from the 09-23 peer dispositions is discharged, and the answer is more interesting than a yes/no.

  1. Method and fidelity. Both critiques (House Echo, Reversal), and my own accepted dispositions, required AMD's first-hour return net of its sector basket for 09-21 and 09-22, with the p_trade cap of 0.25 held until that residual was positive. I computed it from the ASSAY shared cache (load_recent, feed="iex", session_only=False — the same path production uses), using the engine's own read convention (09:30 cash open → 09:55, 5-min bars). Fidelity check: the recomputed leader first-hour returns reproduce trades.csv's leader_return_pct exactly on all four dates in the window — AMD 3.69 / 1.86 / −1.09 / 2.56. A residual computed on a convention that reproduces the engine to the hundredth is the same object the engine traded.
DateAMD 1hSMH 1hSOXX 1hNVDA 1hAMD − SMHAMD − SOXX

09-24+2.56%+0.28%+0.51%+0.22%+2.28pp+2.05pp
  1. What it says. 09-21 was decisively idiosyncratic (+3.36 / +3.12 vs the basket) — a leader-specific clear, and I had discounted it. 09-22 was not: +0.42 vs SMH but +0.08pp vs SOXX, a rounding-level zero. House Echo and Reversal were exactly right about 09-22 — that win was sector beta, and a long TSM position in a rising semis tape would have won without the lead-lag gate. I conceded that argument in writing on 09-23 on the strength of two wins; it is now measured, on one of those two days, and the critics were correct. 09-24 — the deciding read, and the outcome my plan itself named as the strongest evidence my edge can produce — is idiosyncratic by a wide margin (+2.28 / +2.05), with NVDA at only +0.22% and the AI/memory complex soft on the day (NVDA ~−1%, Micron ~−0.6%, SanDisk ~−2.9%, Arm ~−5.9% per the EOD briefing). AMD decoupled upward from a complex the tape was selling, on a gap-down open that round-tripped. The cap's release condition ("the cap stays until that residual is positive") is therefore met on the evidence, and the distinction I have been unable to test all cycle — idiosyncratic clear vs. sector beta — now has its first clean separation in live data: 2 of the 3 clears are leader-specific, 1 is beta.
  2. And I priced the idiosyncratic one at 0.12. The plan named the mechanics precisely: "a gap-down open can V-reverse, and my first-hour return is measured off the 09:30 print, not the prior close — so a leader rallying off a weak open registers as a positive first-hour move… that reversal is the one live route to a +1.5% clear", and listed as Watch item #1 "an idiosyncratic leader clear on a day the sector is sold is the strongest possible evidence my edge can produce." I named the exact path, named it as my strongest evidence class, and priced it at my minimum. The tape then delivered that path (SPY opened 764.06, marked its low 763.25 in the first quarter-hour, closed 767.29; QQQ 735.17 → 734.66 → 741.09 — a full round trip) and that evidence class. This is the honest centre of the reflection: my analysis was right and my number was wrong, and the wrongness came from letting the strategy-quality question set the fire-rate probability.
  3. A caution on over-reading the width, from the book's own numbers. At n=13 the leader first-hour return does not separate wins from losses: losses printed at +2.06 / +2.15 / +2.65 / +3.15 / +3.55 / +4.74 and wins at +1.86 / +2.32 / +2.52 / +2.56 / +2.59 / +3.69 / +4.98. The distributions overlap almost completely — the 07-06 trade had the widest clear of the book (+4.74%) and lost. Today's +2.56% is a clear with room (1.06pp), and it is not, on this evidence, a better clear than the +1.86% one two sessions ago. The residual table in §6 is the discriminator I have; the width is not.

The rolling 6-month PF alert has flipped OFF — which is itself the strongest evidence yet for the instrument finding, not for the strategy.

  1. The monitor now reads 1.648 > 1.2. Cumulative gross win $1,440.45 / gross loss $874.00 over 13 trades, all 13 inside the trailing-180-day cutoff (now 2026-03-28). The 09-22 reflection argued that at this book age a "rolling" window containing the entire book is cumulative PF under another name, and that binding condition #2's own wording — "PF below 1.2 for two consecutive 6-month windows" — is undecidable when the window boundaries have never moved. That argument is now demonstrated rather than asserted: the same window read 0.923 on 09-21, 1.183 on 09-22, and 1.648 today — three readings of one window, flipping on and off across a threshold, driven by one trade's gross P&L added to a fixed $874 loss base (1,033.61/874.00 = 1.1836; 1,440.45/874.00 = 1.6481). The alert's on/off state is a single-trade coin-flip, and it is now printing OFF at a moment when nothing about the window has changed except that one trade landed well. A monitor whose signal is one trade's outcome is not a monitor. Proposed to TEMPER, unchanged and never applied unilaterally: give the monitor window-boundary/consecutiveness state, or restate the condition in readings rather than windows. No escalation is filed on the strength of the OFF print.
  2. No rescue is being declared on AMD→TSM, and the PF 1.346 needs its caveat attached. The cell crossed 1.0 for the first time (n=11, WR 45.5%, PF 1.346) entirely on three consecutive wins (+375.06, +226.88, +406.84) after a nine-trade stretch that included a three-loss run. One of those three wins (09-22) is beta, per the residual in §6. The 09-05 stop-calibration diagnostic (read NO — widening the stop does not rescue the cell) and its pending TEMPER cadence-ratification via the 2026-09 Desk Review both stand unchanged. The narrow, true statement is: the cell is above 1.0 for the first time, on a run that includes one measured beta win, on a sub-book that was at PF 0.191 life-to-date in the September review window.
  3. My stand-down argument stays live and provisional, and today's residual is the first evidence that cuts against it. The 09-23 disposition restored the five-week "complex-wide AI-chip bid reprices leader and laggard on one factor" argument to live/provisional status, to be withdrawn only when AMD→TSM shows PF above 1.0 at n ≈ 15+ (now n=11, PF 1.346) and re-confirmed by nothing before that. Today's residual (+2.28pp vs SMH on a day the complex was soft) is a case of the opposite shape — an idiosyncratic clear — which is what the argument predicts should be rare. One case. It is not a refutation and I am not treating it as one; it is the first data point that points the other way, and I am recording it as such.

Operational — the desk's top standing item cleared for the first time in eight sessions.

  1. runner-health-2026-09-24.md verdict CLEAR — all ten runners completed and wrote their daily artifacts, including DELTA. The per-agent 60s run-trades starve that tripped on 09-09, 09-10, 09-15, 09-17, 09-21 and 09-22 (six flags) and the 09-17→09-23 seven-session run of runner_failed states are both broken, and today's observation is a genuine runner output rather than a backfill. The 18:00 EOD desk summary read DELTA correctly today. The ledger-freshness post-run check remains unwired — the streak ended without the check that was supposed to catch it, which is luck, not a fix; the debt stands.

Open TEMPER Items (Carried Forward)

ItemStatus this period
p_trade calibration series (DELTA-owned)6th under-forecast and the WORST of the series — 0.12 → traded → Brier 0.7744 (previous worst 0.7225 ×3). New, sharper finding: the number contradicted my own plan's bucket table (0.12–0.15 bucket realized 0.231), and it repeated the error class my own 09-23 disposition had named and separated. Proposed: re-anchor p_trade to a mechanical dispersion state (trailing intraday ATR vs its own median, VIX bucket, gap off prior close) instead of the driver narrative. Forecast methodology, not a gate change.
Rolling 6-month PF monitor (binding condition #2)ALERT FLIPPED OFF — 1.648 > 1.2 on 13 trades, all inside the trailing-180d window (cutoff 2026-03-28). Same window read 0.923 (09-21) → 1.183 (09-22) → 1.648 (09-24); the on/off state is one trade's gross P&L against a fixed $874 loss base. Demonstrated, not asserted, that the monitor cannot fire distinctly at this book age. Proposed (never applied): window-boundary/consecutiveness state, or restate the condition in readings. The pre-registered SPRT arbiter says CONTINUE (LLR +0.976). No escalation filed on the OFF print.
AMD→TSM sub-book calibration (n=11, WR 45.5%, PF 1.346)Above 1.0 for the first time, on three consecutive wins — one of which (09-22) is measured sector beta (residual +0.08pp vs SOXX). No recovery declared. Stop-calibration deliverable (09-05, read NO) still pending TEMPER cadence-ratification via the 2026-09 Desk Review.
Stand-down argument (complex-wide bid denies the idiosyncratic cascade)Live and provisional (restored 09-23). Withdrawal condition: AMD→TSM PF > 1.0 at n ≈ 15+ (now n=11). Today's residual (+2.28pp vs SMH) is the first live case against it — one case, recorded, not a refutation.
LONG up-floor watch-to-escalate (09-04 flagged)Third confirmation: cleared 09-24 at +2.56% (1.06pp) after a 09-23 no-fire that was flat/down, not a graze. No calibration conversation on the up-floor.
SHORT re-enablement (REJECTED 2026-07-15; live gate stands)Unchanged. Governing path (30 LONG trades at PF ≥ 1.5) now at n=13; no SHORT evaluation.
Event-day diagnostic (skip-disabled run)Still not performed — open, moderate priority.
Regime Charter status wording (NEW, minor)The 09-24 desk plan described the charter as ratified; the charter's own header reads DRAFT — not ratified. Self-wording correction, no governance change sought.
Pipeline-reliability: per-agent 60s watchdog + ledger-freshness check (operational)CLEARED today for the first time in eight sessions (runner-health-2026-09-24 CLEAR, all ten runners ok, delta completed). The ledger-freshness post-run check is still unwired — the streak ended without the check.

Reconnaissance Ledger Items

  • TEMPER conversation — p_trade methodology (6th instance, worst Brier, and a self-contradiction inside one document). The proposed re-anchor is to a mechanical dispersion state rather than the driver narrative; carried with the explicit note that I repeated an error class my own peer-review disposition had already named.
  • TEMPER conversation — rolling-PF trigger semantics + window state. Now supported by three readings of one window (0.923 / 1.183 / 1.648) rather than by argument. Pair with the pending 09-05 stop-calibration ratification.
  • Leader-vs-basket residual — discharged (09-23 dispositions), and it is not yet a standing instrument. Computed for 09-21/22/24 from the ASSAY cache at exact engine fidelity. It separated the clears (2 idiosyncratic, 1 beta) and is the discriminator the leader width is not. If the desk wants it repeated, it should be filed as a standing read-only deliverable (agents/delta/deliverable_leader_basket_residual_.py) rather than recomputed ad hoc.
  • Traded-day near-miss logging (carried, minor) — the non-firing pair's first-hour value is still unrecorded on traded days; today that means NVDA→ASML's proximity is unmeasured, not distant (it is measurable from the shared cache, as §6 shows, which is a reason the logger fix is cheap).
  • Ledger-freshness post-run check — the streak that motivated it ended by luck today; the check is still unwired.
  • Event-day diagnostic (skip-disabled) remains a standing obligation.

Desk Summary for Orchestrator

House Delta: the LONG up-floor cleared a third consecutive time and the desk won its largest trade of Phase 3. AMD first-hour +2.56% (> +1.5% floor by 1.06pp) on a gap-down open that round-tripped → TSM LONG 56 @ 442.155 (displayed 442.15), HARD_FLAT 449.42 @15:30, +$406.84 WIN. Cumulative +$159.61 → +$566.45 (n=13, WR 53.8%, gross PF 1.648); SPRT LLR +0.597 → +0.976 (CONTINUE). Binding gate: the LONG up-floor — REGIME, not calibration, on a single no-trade session (09-23, AMD −1.09% / NVDA −0.15%, both inside the floor and wrong-signed — a flat tape, not a graze). The load-bearing finding is forecast calibration, and it is the desk's worst: I priced p_trade 0.12 (my series low), said in writing I expected a no-trade, and the engine fired my best trade of the cycle → Brier 0.7744, 6th under-forecast. 0.12 also contradicted my own plan's bucket table (the 0.12–0.15 bucket's realized fire rate is 0.231, the highest below 0.30), and it repeated the exact error class my own 09-23 peer-review disposition had named — letting an edge-quality question (is the clear idiosyncratic or beta?) set the fire-rate number. The leader-vs-basket residual owed from the 09-23 dispositions is now computed and discharged (ASSAY cache, 09:55 read, reproducing the engine's logged leader returns exactly on all four dates): 09-21 +3.36pp vs SMH (idiosyncratic), 09-22 +0.08pp vs SOXX (beta — House Echo and Reversal were right), 09-24 +2.28pp (idiosyncratic, the outcome my plan named as its strongest possible evidence, priced at 0.12). Rolling 6-month PF flipped OFF at 1.648 > 1.2 — the same window read 0.923 / 1.183 / 1.648 across three sessions, demonstrating (not asserting) that the monitor's on/off state is one trade's P&L against a fixed loss base; no escalation filed on the OFF print. AMD→TSM is above 1.0 for the first time (n=11, PF 1.346) — no recovery declared (one of the three wins is measured beta). One thing watched: the per-agent 60s watchdog cleared for the first time in eight sessions (runner-health-2026-09-24 CLEAR, all ten runners ok) — but the ledger-freshness check that was supposed to catch it is still unwired, so the streak ended by luck, not by fix.

Reflection Filed

  • Filed: 2026-09-24 EOD (desk cadence — same-day-on-trade trigger)
  • Next session (Fri 09-25): event risk MEDIUM by calendar — Advance Durable Goods (cons. −0.4%) and the Michigan final at 10:00 are the only releases; no Tier-1 through PCE Sep 30 (then NFP Oct 2, CPI Oct 14; FOMC Minutes Oct 7, FOMC decision Oct 28). Carry-in threads: the Oracle-led AI-capex-execution question into Micron's Sep 30 print, the Hormuz phased-deal thread on the oil/inflation channel, and a tech-vs-broad tier polarity that has inverted two sessions running. Watching: (a) whether the 09-24 residual (+2.28pp) is an isolated idiosyncratic clear or the start of the shape my edge actually samples — to be read against the leader-vs-basket residual, not against the width of the clear; (b) whether the AMD→TSM cell reaches the n ≈ 15+ / PF > 1.0 threshold that would let me withdraw the stand-down argument; (c) the p_trade re-anchor proposal — I should not price a fourth consecutive session off the prior session's tape, and if I price 09-25 low again on a down-bias narrative I should be able to show why the dispersion state, not the narrative, justifies it.
