Desk Plan — Reversal — 2026-09-18

Briefing reference: /Users/dadbot/Desktop/ClaudeBod/projects/dadbrain/Analysis/briefings/2026-09-18-pm.md PM: Wicker (persona; own stack retired 2026-07-14 — this plan covers active members Null + Meridian only)

Shared Market Read

  • Event risk today: LOW — and the event gate does NOT fire for either member. No Tier-1 today or through the next 7 trading days (next: PCE Sep 30, NFP Oct 2, CPI Oct 14). FOMC (Sep 16, 25bp hike to 3.75–4.00%) and the BOJ hike (to 1.25%, a 31-year high, sold-the-fact) are both in the past. Firm-wide status GO. Both active members' is_event_day() checks return clean — a live, tradeable session. The only scheduled reads are second-tier: Industrial Production (9:15 ET), Bowman (9:30), CB LEI (10:00), Schmid (~11:45) — none a market-binary.
  • Session character expected: Mechanically-driven, firm tech-led open into quadruple witching. Pre-market tape is modestly risk-on and tech-led (SPY +0.24%, QQQ +0.47% implied; semis/AI-memory the bid on Huang's "chip volume doubles next year" comment). But today is quadruple witching — quarterly index futures (opening-based settlement), index options and single-stock options all expire, ~$6.2tn of US options exposure (Citadel). Expect mechanical, elevated-volume price action concentrated at the open and the close, and a first 30 minutes that is structural noise, not information. The briefing's own instruction governs this desk directly: do not read a choppy open as directional. Layer on top: the S&P 500 quarterly rebalance is effective Monday Sep 21 — index funds trade the Friday close — but that flow lands after both members' hard exits (Null 11:00 ET, Meridian 11:30 ET), so neither carries into it. Both members' exits are short of the two mechanically dirtiest windows (the open's settlement print and the closing auction) — only the open is shared exposure.
  • VIX regime: 15.27 (LOW, <18) — down −0.17 from the prior close (15.44), fourth straight LOW-regime session. LOW-VIX is the historically favorable cohort for this desk (Null's backtest WR 80.1% in the <18 bucket; Meridian's edge is concentrated in the same regime). The cohort logic runs today — but VIX level does not gate either mechanism, so it is a tailwind note, not a signal.
  • Key levels:
  • QQQ: prior close 716.89 (Null's gap-fill target), prior-day range 713.32 – 718.03 (range 4.71 — a contained prior day), prior high 718.03 (Meridian's sweep level), 20-day SMA 712.73 (above SMA20 — flipped above on 09-17), ATR(14) 8.42. Null's in-band gap: ±0.84 to ±5.89 pts.
  • SPY: prior close 762.64, prior-day range 759.98 – 763.57 (range 3.59), prior high 763.57 (Meridian's sweep level), 20-day SMA 764.31 (below SMA20), ATR(14) 6.66.
  • IWM: no briefing price block; Meridian marks its sweep level (prior high) at the open. Its 20-day average range was ~2.86 as of 09-17 → 1.25× ceiling ≈ 3.6 (refreshes today).
  • Pre-market: no QQQ/SPY print at 07:00 ET (thin IEX) — the implied futures read is the directional proxy. Confirm the actual gap at the cash open; on a witching day the open print is the one number that matters most for this desk.
  • Macro backdrop: one sentence — a firm-wide GO on a mechanically noisy expiry session: the tape wants to open firmer and tech-led into levels that are already behind it, and both mechanisms are fade-side structures pointed against that bid, but each faces a specific structural binder (Null: the trend-alignment filter on an in-band gap-up; Meridian: the sweep geometry, since the implied open sits above both sweep levels).
  • Desk-wide false-sweep assessment (explicit, as required on quad-witching): both members' triggers are exactly the price shape that mechanical expiry flow can manufacture. For Null, a settlement-distorted open print can produce a snap-back that satisfies "≥50% of the open drive retraced in one 1-min candle + a 1-min FVG" without any institutional absorption behind it — a fake reversal impulse. For Meridian, Rule 1 (spike through the prior high, close back below it in the same bar) is the mechanical-noise pattern, and RSI(2) ≥ 88 can be reached on a purely mechanical pop. Neither stack has a witching gate and I am adding none — no unilateral tweak, and no member's gate logic is mine to edit. The honest treatment is on the forecast: both calls are priced low, and if a signal does fire today its quality is degraded relative to a normal session. Null's 9:30–10:30 entry window is a partial mitigation (it can wait for the dust to settle); Meridian's kill zone covers the noisiest 30 minutes and has no such mitigation.

Null — QQQ (gap fade / FVG; MNQ proxy, gap measured at the cash open)

Setup present: POSSIBLE, not likely — and today the binder flips from the gap filter to the TREND-ALIGNMENT filter. p_trade 0.20, direction short, conviction low. Null's event gate is clean (no Tier-1), and the mega-cap earnings filter is also clean — today's after-hours/pre-market names (HPE, SMCI, GNRC) are not QQQ top-10 constituents, so is_event_day(tier_filter=2) and the earnings list both pass.

The structural change from yesterday: the gap-size filter is likely to PASS for the first time in five sessions. The implied pre-market gap is +0.47% ≈ +3.37 QQQ pts against ATR(14) 8.42 → gap_ratio ≈ 0.40×, comfortably inside the [0.10, 0.70] band — versus the last five sessions, which blocked on oversize (09-10 1.149×, 09-14 1.492×, 09-17 1.395×) or sub-floor (09-15 0.053×). But the next gate now bites:

  1. The trend-alignment filter blocks the gap-up fade. QQQ is above its 20-day SMA (712.73), and the live code blocks when gap_ratio ≥ 0.30 and the open is a gap-up above the SMA ("gap_up + above_SMA20 = with-trend fade, skip"). At the implied ~0.40× the relaxation for tiny gaps (< 0.30×) does not apply. So the modal outcome is no_trade:trend_filter on a gap that the size filter would have admitted — the first time this specific gate has been the binder in weeks (precedent: 08-21 0.379×, 08-27 0.527×, both blocked the same way).
  2. The tradeable window is real but sits just below the implied open. QQQ opens: tradeable if open ∈ [711.00, 716.05] (gap-down in band → long fade) or [717.73, 719.42) (tiny gap-up → short fade, relaxed). Blocked if open ∈ (716.05, 717.73) (sub-floor), [719.42, 722.78) (in-band but trend-filtered — where the implied open ~720.3 sits), or ≥ 722.78 (oversize). The whole call reduces to one number: does QQQ open below ~719.4? A cash open that undershoots the pre-market print by ~0.12% flips the session live. That is plausible — it is not the base case.
  3. Direction, if it fires, is short. The only high-probability qualifying path is a tiny gap-up (717.73–719.42) faded short. A gap-down long is possible but contrary to the pre-market read.

Sizing vs event risk: standard — 1 MNQ, 0.5% risk, one position at a time, 11:00 ET hard exit. No event risk to size against (LOW, no Tier-1); do not upsize on the LOW-VIX cohort, and do not upsize on a witching day — mechanical-open noise is a reason for standard size, never conviction size. atr14_daily is 8.42 (up from 8.26), so the ATR-normalized stop is marginally wider and the gap band is marginally wider — arithmetic, not a judgment call.

Key levels: QQQ prior close 716.89 (fill target), prior high 718.03, prior low 713.32, SMA20 712.73, ATR(14) 8.42; in-band gap 0.84–5.89 pts; tradeable open zone 711.00–716.05 ∪ 717.73–719.42.

Invalidation / stand-down: stand down if the cash-open gap prints ≥ 0.70× ATR (≥ 5.89 pts, open ≥ ~722.8) — a breakaway tech gap is the population v2 excludes; or if it prints < 0.10× ATR (open 716.05–717.73) — no edge; or if it lands in-band but ≥ 0.30× on a gap-up above the SMA — the trend filter refuses it by rule. The 11:00 ET hard exit is unchanged. no_trade:trend_filter is, on this tape, the expected outcome, not a near-miss.

Mechanism health: SPRT CONTINUE — n=14 W13/L1, LLR +2.249, cumulative +$1,881.59, WR 92.9%; first-loss watch stays N=1 (the 09-03 trend-day fade remains un-clustered). Standing finding carried: the current tape has produced oversize gaps (09-01 0.933×, 09-10 1.149×, 09-14 1.492×, 09-17 1.395×) — today is the first session in the stretch where the size filter is likely to pass and the trend filter takes over as the binder. No tweak.

Meridian — QQQ/SPY/IWM (kill-zone prior-high sweep + RSI(2) ≥ 88, bearish only)

Setup present: POSSIBLE, not likely — the volatility gate likely CLEARS for QQQ/SPY for the first time in three sessions, but the sweep geometry is muddied and the sweep completion is the structural binder. p_trade 0.15, direction short, conviction low. Meridian's event gate is clean (no Tier-1); all three legs are evaluated.

  1. The volatility gate — the binder on 09-15 and 09-17 — likely stops binding. The gate compares the prior day's range to 1.25× its 20-day average. The prior day (09-17) was contained: QQQ 4.71 and SPY 3.59, versus ceilings of roughly 8.3–8.5 (QQQ) and ~5.7–5.9 (SPY) (09-17 read avg_range 6.81 / 4.72). Both legs should pass on the range test for the first time since 09-14. IWM is the uncertain leg — its average range is small (~2.86 → ~3.6 ceiling) and its 09-17 range is not in the briefing; if IWM's witching small-cap range ran wide it will block on volatility. So the realistic leg count today is two (QQQ, SPY), maybe three.
  2. With volatility cleared, the ADX band (18–32) becomes the first live filter — and it is genuinely unknown. After a +1.7% QQQ session (close 716.89 vs the 09-16 close of ~704.70), 15-min ADX is plausibly lifted, and the high-side ceiling has bitten recently (SPY 45.6 and IWM 38.7 on 09-09). If ADX sits above 32 at the open, the volatility gate has simply been swapped for the ADX gate.
  3. The sweep geometry is pre-empted. The implied open puts QQQ (~720.3) ABOVE its prior high of 718.03 and SPY (~764.5) ABOVE its prior high of 763.57. Meridian's Rule 1 is defined as an exhaustion up-push into the prior high, closing back below it in the same 5-min bar. If both instruments open already above their sweep levels, the level is behind the tape rather than above it — the "push into the level" geometry the mechanism is built on has partly already happened (overnight/pre-market), and the kill-zone bar pattern is the wrong half of the sequence. A further intraday pop with RSI(2) ≥ 88 into a new high can still spike-reject, but on a mechanical-witching open the rule is more likely than on a normal session to fire on a false sweep, which is exactly why this call stays low.
  4. The sweep-completion gate remains the structural binder — it has bound for weeks while the volatility gate was firing, and per the standing desk finding (09-10: both legs in-band ADX yet no_sweep, the drift moving away from the highs; the 06-18 lesson), reachable-in-principle is not likely-to-be-reached. A mechanically-bid witching open that holds above the levels is the drift-above analog of the same absence.

Sizing vs event risk: standard — $250/leg, caps 10 MNQ / 5 MES / 5 M2K, 2-loss daily cap, hard close 11:30 ET. No event risk to size against (LOW, no Tier-1). iwm_leg remains n=0 — no qualifying setup since the 2026-08-20 expansion; the honest live anchor for that leg is ~56%, not the 73.3% headline. Do not read the volatility-gate clearing as a reason to size up: the gate clearing removes a blocker, it does not raise the quality of whatever fires on a witching open.

Key levels: QQQ prior high 718.03 / SPY prior high 763.57 (sweep thresholds — both implied to be below the open); IWM sweep level marked at the open. ADX band 18–32. Volatility ceilings ≈ 8.4 QQQ / 5.9 SPY / ~3.6 IWM (1.25× the 20-day average range). ATR(14) QQQ 8.42 / SPY 6.66 → the 2.0× ATR(5m) stop.

Invalidation / stand-down: stand down if the ADX precheck lands outside 18–32 on all evaluated legs (the likely late-session-blocks scenario), or the volatility gate still blocks the legs that clear ADX, or the tape simply holds above the sweep levels and never produces a close-back-below bar with RSI(2) ≥ 88 (the drift-absence scenario, which the desk has seen repeatedly). The 11:30 ET hard close is unchanged and keeps the position out of the expiry close auction.

Mechanism health: SPRT CONTINUE — n=3 W2/L1, LLR +0.222, cumulative +$385.22, WR 66.7%; spy_leg n=1 WR 100%; iwm_leg n=0. No boundary risk. Standing ~6-month decay re-backtest next due ~2027-02-20. No tweak.

Plan Filed

  • Filed: 2026-09-18 (pre-market, 04:33 PT / 07:33 ET)
  • Frontmatter forecasts complete for active members only (Null, Meridian): yes. Wicker (PM): strategy retired 2026-07-14 (WS2c Tier-2 NO-GO) — no plan, no forecast, no per-member file; persona continues desk oversight only.
  • Firm-wide GO; event risk LOW (no Tier-1 through the next 7 sessions). Both active members' event gates are clean. Null p_trade 0.20 / direction short / conviction low; Meridian p_trade 0.15 / direction short / conviction low. Both are "possible, not likely" — the honest forecast is that the setups are live but each stack's binder is likely to hold: Null's gap-size filter is likely to pass for the first time in five sessions and be refused instead by the trend-alignment filter (in-band gap-up above SMA20, ratio ≥ 0.30); Meridian's volatility gate likely clears for the first time in three sessions and is replaced by the ADX band plus a pre-empted sweep geometry (both implied opens sit above their prior highs).
  • Quad-witching note: no gate changes and no invented filters. Both triggers are shapes mechanical expiry flow can fake; both forecasts are priced low accordingly, and Null's 09:30–10:30 window is the only structural mitigation the desk owns today.
  • Reconfirmation ledger: no open item gates today. Meridian IWM expansion CLOSED 2026-08-20 (strategy_v7); standing ~6-month decay re-backtest next due ~2027-02-20. Wicker's feed/session re-run remains the desk's highest-priority open reconfirmation (unchanged, not a today blocker).
  • Carried watch: Null needs the cash-open QQQ open below ~719.4 (below the trend-filter threshold) for the gap to be tradeable at all; Meridian needs a leg to push into (not open above) its prior high with RSI(2) ≥ 88 inside the ADX band — and to do so without the sweep bar being mechanically manufactured.

Reversal Desk Reflection — 2026-09-18

PM: Wicker (persona; own stack retired 2026-07-14 — desk covers active members Null + Meridian only) Briefing reference: dadbrain/Analysis/briefings/2026-09-18-eod.md Cadence rule: weekly (Friday) or same-day-on-trade — WS5, in effect 2026-07-11. Today is a Friday weekly reflection AND Null traded — both triggers fire. Period covered: 2026-09-14 through 2026-09-18 (prior desk reflection 2026-09-11). Two Tier-1 skips (FOMC 09-16), two oversize-gap Null blocks, one sub-floor block, one Volatility-block Meridian span, and — the period's one trade — Null's in-band 0.244× gap-up fade short that hit target on a confined quad-witching day.

What Happened — Desk Summary

One trade, one win, five no-trade sessions across the two members — and the period resolves to regime on both stacks, with the telling detail that Null's mechanism finally got an in-band gap and executed cleanly while Meridian's sweeps reappeared but its exhaustion gate failed out. The tape over the five sessions held the oversize-gap regime Null has been fighting since 09-01, then broke it on Friday: 09-14 QQQ gapped down 11.53 pts (1.492× ATR, ceiling block), 09-15 gapped down just 0.43 pts (0.053× — sub-floor, a 0.047 miss on the floor side), 09-16 was the deterministic FOMC Tier-1 skip, 09-17 gapped up 11.53 pts (1.395×, oversize) — and 09-18 QQQ opened modestly higher (in-band 0.244×) and Null SHORTED, hit target 716.89 @ 10:02 for net +$84.40. Meridian, meanwhile, cleared the Volatility gate for the first time in three sessions (as the plan forecast) and for the first time in the stretch produced actual sweeps on QQQ (2 sweeps) — but max RSI(2) read only 11.1 vs the 88 exhaustion threshold, so the mechanism never even approached authorizing a short. The periods' two other legs (SPY no_sweep +1.82, IWM ADX precheck 32.5) also stood down. Desk net today: +$84.40 (Null); scope net +$84.40. Both SPRTs CONTINUE — no boundary crossed.

  • Null — TRADED 09-18, WIN +$84.40 (short QQQ, entry 719.0125 @ 09:44, target 716.89 @ 10:02). The whole period was the gap filter: oversize ceiling blocks on 09-14 (1.492×) and 09-17 (1.395×), a sub-floor 0.053× on 09-15, the FOMC skip on 09-16 — then on 09-18 the gap finally printed 0.244×, inside the band and below the 0.30 tiny-gap relaxation line, so the trend-alignment filter (the plan's predicted binder at ~0.40×) did NOT bite: a tiny in-band gap-up above the SMA20 is the exact tradeable path the plan flagged ("open below ~719.4 flips the session live"). The open undershot to ~718.7, the fade short formed, and it hit its fill target at the prior close. SPRT CONTINUE — n=15 W14/L1, LLR climbs from +2.249, WR 93.3%, cumulative +$1,965.99. First-loss watch stays N=1 (the 09-03 trend-day loss remains un-clustered).
  • Meridian — NO-TRADE all five sessions. Binder sequence: 09-14 Volatility gate CLEARED but no_sweep (QQQ +7.05 / SPY +4.17 short — tape well away from prior highs; IWM ADX 17.2 below band); 09-15 Volatility gate BLOCKED both QQQ (10.21 vs ~8.14 ceiling) and SPY (5.59 vs ~4.30), IWM ADX 15.8; 09-16 deterministic FOMC skip; 09-17 Volatility gate blocked all three legs (QQQ 11.88 vs ~8.5, SPY 12.07 vs ~5.9, IWM 6.01 vs ~3.6 — after the +1.7% QQQ session, prior-range blew wide); 09-18 Volatility gate cleared (as planned) and QQQ swept twice — but max_rsi2=11.1 thresh=88, the exhaustion never developed; SPY no_sweep +1.82, IWM ADX 32.5 (just over the 32 ceiling). SPRT CONTINUE — n=3 W2/L1, LLR +0.222, cumulative +$385.22, WR 66.7%; spy_leg n=1 WR 100%; iwm_leg n=0.

Forecast calibration for the period (rows 09-14, 09-15, 09-17, 09-18): Null brier 0.0225 / 0.0225 / 0.0625 / 0.64; Meridian 0.04 / 0.04 / 0.04 / 0.0225. The one brier that jumps — Null's 0.64 on 09-18 — is the honest cost of calling a live trade at p_trade 0.20 that did fire and won: the low p traded, direction hit short. Not a miscalibration; a rightly-priced tail that landed.

Session Character Read

A five-session read that splits cleanly down the two mechanisms' lived experience of the same tape. (1) Null's binder was overwhelmingly the gap-SIZE regime, not any threshold being grazed: 09-14 oversize by 2.1× the ceiling, 09-17 oversize by 2.0×, with one genuine sub-floor near-miss (09-15, 0.053 vs 0.10 — a 0.047 miss) plus a deterministic FOMC skip. The oversize-gap cluster that ran 09-01 (0.933×) → 09-17 (1.395×) is the mirror-side pressure of the earlier LOW-VIX sub-floor stretch — and it appears to have broken on 09-18, when the gap finally printed in-band and the mechanism executed cleanly. (2) Meridian's binding gate moved through the period: it was Volatility (wide, not grazed — 1.6×–2.1× the ceiling on 09-15/09-17), then no_sweep when Volatility cleared (09-14, 09-18-SPY/QQQ-swepts-forming), and on 09-18 a new shape appeared — the sweep finally formed on QQQ but RSI(2) exhaustion failed at 11.1, a 76.9-pt shortfall against 88, categorically not a graze. On a mechanically-bid, sub-ATR quad-witching tape (VIX 14.81 LOW, QQQ +0.62% / SPY -0.13% two-tier), the expiration flow pushed QQQ through its prior high twice without ever manufacturing exhaustion — the exact degradations the 09-18 plan's false-sweep assessment warned never materialized into a trade. No numeric gate was "wrong" on either stack; the regime withheld Null's setups on the gap-size side and Meridian's on the sweep/exhaustion side until finally granting Null one in-band gap it converted correctly.

Per-Member Binding Gate Analysis

Null — TRADED 09-18 (WIN). Binding gate through the no-trade stretch = gap-SIZE regime (oversize ceiling 09-14/09-17; one sub-floor 09-15; FOMC skip 09-16) — REGIME, not calibration; the mechanism converted the in-band gap it was finally given

Null's binding story this period is the gap filter doing its two-sided job and then releasing: 09-14 gap_ratio val=1.492 band=[0.1,0.7] (gap -11.53, ATR 7.73), 09-17 1.395 (+11.53, ATR 8.26) — both clean oversize regime blocks, the same signature as 09-01 (0.933×) and 09-10 (1.149×); 09-15 0.053 (-0.43, ATR 8.17) — a genuine sub-floor on the floor side, a 0.047 miss (0.053 vs 0.10) that is the closest any single session has come to grazing a gap threshold from beneath this stretch; 09-16 the deterministic FOMC skip. Then 09-18 0.244 — in-band, and critically below the 0.30 tiny-gap relaxation, so the trend-alignment filter the plan flagged as the likely binder (at the implied ~0.40× open) never engaged: a tiny in-band gap-up above the SMA20 is exactly the tradeable form, matching the plan's carried _one-number_ call ("open below ~719.4 flips the session live"). QQQ opened ~718.7, the fade short filled at 719.0125 @ 09:44, and it hit the 716.89 fill target @ 10:02 — a clean execution of the mechanism at standard size.

  • Regime, not calibration. The three gap blocks were either oversize (2.1× / 2.0× the ceiling) or one isolated sub-floor graze (0.047), and the deterministic FOMC skip is not a threshold at all. The standout reading is that when the tape finally gave an in-band gap the mechanism took it and won — no threshold needs moving. The 0.053 sub-floor is a single close-ish miss, not a repeated graze against one threshold, so it does not clear N=3-driven calibration evidence. SPRT n=15 W14/L1, LLR climbing from +2.249, WR 93.3%, cumulative +$1,965.99; first-loss watch N=1.
  • Calibration note: Null's 09-18 brier 0.64 looks like a miss on the scorecard but isolates the correct behavior — a p_trade 0.20 / short call that traded short and won. The direction call (short) was right on a fade-off-a-modest-up-open; the low probability priced the genuine uncertainty of whether the tight-tiny-gap path would form. This is the healthy inverse of a false-confident low-p miss.
Meridian — NO-TRADE all five. Binding gate = REGIME, moving through Volatility-wide → no_sweep → RSI(2)-exhaustion-fail; no grazed threshold on any gate

Meridian's binder moved through the period as the tape self-corrected: 09-15 Volatility-blocked (QQQ prior_range 10.21 vs ~8.14 ceiling; SPY 5.59 vs ~4.30) and 09-17 Volatility-blocked all three legs (QQQ 11.88, SPY 12.07, IWM 6.01 — the +1.7% QQQ session blew the prior-range wide), both far from any graze (1.6×–2.1× the ceiling); 09-14 Volatility cleared but no_sweep (QQQ day_high 710.58 vs prior_high 717.63, +7.05 short; SPY +4.17 — the drift-away base case); 09-18 Volatility cleared as planned and QQQ finally swept twice — the first sweeps in the stretch — but sweep_chain sweeps=2 rsi_reject=2 max_rsi2=11.1 thresh=88: the exhaustion threshold failed by 76.9 pts, which is not a near-miss, it is the exhaustion edge never being present at all. SPY no_sweep +1.82 (day_high 761.75 vs prior_high 763.57); IWM adx_precheck 32.5 (just 0.5 over the 32 ceiling).

  • Regime, not calibration. Volatility blocked wide, no_sweep was structural absence, and the 09-18 exhaustion failure (RSI(2) 11.1 vs 88) is the opposite of a graze — the mechanically-bid witching tape pushed QQQ through its prior high without ever reaching exhaustion. Nothing to tweak; the ADX band itself was inside (adx_open 19.6 on the SPY leg that ran) yet still no trade — consistent with the standing desk finding that sweep-completion/exhaustion, not the band, binds. SPRT n=3 W2/L1, LLR +0.222, cumulative +$385.22; iwm_leg n=0.
  • Live watch (upgraded): 09-18 was the first session where Meridian's sweep appeared (QQQ, 2×) and the blocker became the exhaustion (RSI(2) ≥ 88) gate instead of sweep-absence or volatility. That is the mechanism moving closer to its authorizing shape than at any point since the 09-09 QQQ near-miss (+2.25 short, ADX 30.0). The watch now is whether a less mechanised, genuinely exhausted up-push into a prior high produces RSI(2) ≥ 88 — on a witching tape the exhaustion may keep failing by construction while sweeps fool.

Narrative finding: two members, one tape, and the period's only trade was the reversal desk's mechanism finally receiving the setup its filter-bank had withheld. Null's gap filter was the load-bearing suppression all stretch and broke on 09-18; Meridian's suppression pivoted from volatility to sweep-absence to exhaustion-persistence. Both are regime reads — no gate misbehaved, no repeated graze warrants a TEMPER conversation, and neither member's live gate stack should be touched. What is new and worth carrying: Meridian's sweeps now form while its RSI(2) exhaustion does not — the closest the mechanism has come to its authorizing shape since 09-09.

Open TEMPER Items (Carried Forward)

  • Null — first live loss + 2026-WR watch (carried, N=1). The 09-03 trend-day fade loss (−$192.61) remains un-clustered; 09-18 added a win. n=15 W14/L1, WR 93.3%, SPRT LLR climbing from +2.249. First 30-trade 2026-WR review threshold not approached.
  • Null — oversize-gap regime appears to have BROKEN (updated). 09-01 0.933×, 09-10 1.149×, 09-14 1.492×, 09-17 1.395× cluster → 09-18 0.244× in-band and executed +$84.40. Informational; renew the watch for whether in-band gaps become recurring rather than an isolated break.
  • Meridian — sweep-completion/exhaustion, not the band, is the binding gate (strengthened to its clearest form). 09-18: sweeps=2 on QQQ (in-band ADX), exhaustion failed at RSI(2) 11.1 vs 88 — the exhaustible-up-push edge is absent on a mechanically-bid tape, the same structural absence in a new disguise. Monitoring-only.
  • Meridian — first qualifying sweep in weeks; watch an exhausted analog (upgraded watch). The 09-18 QQQ double-sweep (still RSI-failed) is the mechanism's closest approach since 09-09. Watch whether a genuine exhausted up-push produces RSI(2) ≥ 88 on a non-witching tape.
  • Meridian — iwm_leg sub-book monitoring (carried). n=0 all period (ADX 17.2/15.8 below, ADX 32.5 above, no volatility-cleared sweep). Honest live WR anchor ~56%, not 73.3%.
  • Meridian — standing ~6-month periodic re-backtest decay check (carried). Next due ~2027-02-20.
  • Wicker — backtest re-run under corrected feed/session config (carried). Standing highest-value reconfirmation; unchanged (own stack retired).

Reconnaissance Ledger

  • Wicker backtest re-run under corrected (2026-07-05) feed/session config — open.
  • Standing rule: no parameter re-tuning / gate loosening to manufacture throughput — unchanged; neither member warrants any (all blocks were structural absence or a gap-size/sweep regime, not a grazed threshold, except the single 09-15 sub-floor 0.047 miss which is isolated, not repeatable).

Desk Summary for Orchestrator

One trade, one win, both members REGIME. Null was the period's (and day's) trader: blocked by the gap filter's oversize ceiling on 09-14 (1.492×) & 09-17 (1.395×), sub-floor 0.053× on 09-15, FOMC skip 09-16 — then 09-18 QQQ printed an in-band 0.244× tiny gap-up (below the 0.30 relaxation), the trend filter did NOT bind, the short filled 719.0125 @ 09:44, hit 716.89 @ 10:02 — +$84.40, SPRT CONTINUE n=15 W14/L1 LLR climbing from +2.249, WR 93.3%, cumulative +$1,965.99, first-loss watch N=1; brier 0.64 is the honest cost of a low-p trade that fired and won, direction short correctly. Meridian no-trade all five: Volatility-blocked wide on 09-15/09-17 (1.6–2.1× ceiling), no_sweep drift-away on 09-14 & 09-18-SPY, and on 09-18 the first sweeps in weeks (QQQ 2×) but RSI(2) exhaustion failed at 11.1 vs 88 — a 76.9-pt shortfall, not a graze; SPRT CONTINUE n=3 W2/L1 +0.222, iwm_leg n=0, cumulative +$385.22. Desk net scope +$84.40. Nothing to escalate, no unilateral tweak on either. Watched: Null — whether in-band gaps recur now that the oversize cluster broke, feeding its 09:30–10:30 window; Meridian — whether a genuine exhausted up-push (RSI(2) ≥ 88) forms on a non-mechanical tape now that sweeps have returned.

Watch that the S&P 500 quarterly rebalance effective Monday (index-flow Friday-close trading already largely done) and the BE/ILMN/P index additions don't churn the QQQ/SPY open out of band for Null or keep Meridian's tape too mechanically-bid for exhaustion; IWM settles into a fresh volatility window after Friday's witching.
