Desk Plan — House Vesper — 2026-09-04

Briefing reference: /Users/dadbot/Desktop/ClaudeBod/projects/dadbrain/Analysis/briefings/2026-09-04-pm.md PM: VESPER — the evening star, the first light after the close.

Shared Market Read

  • Event risk today: HIGH — the August NFP (8:30 AM ET, Tier-1) is the week's pivot and the read-ahead into the Sept 15–16 FOMC. Consensus clusters ~+55K (TE 56K, Forex.com +55K, Investing ~53K; MUFG +70K) after July's surprise −23K. U/R 4.1% cons, AHE +0.3% m/m. The market has priced a ~50/50 Sept hike/hold coin flip and enters positioned for a soft print (relief continuation after Thursday's Waller-driven +1% rally). Binary: soft NFP → locks the hold, extends the rate-sensitive relief leg; hot NFP/hot wages → re-ignites the Warsh hike leg and reverses Thursday's tape. A genuine two-sided 8:30 coin flip.
  • Session character expected: Direction unknown until 8:30 AM, then trending. Not a contained pre-positioning day — structure forms only after the print, in the direction the rate read resolves (soft → growth/QQQ continuation; hot → value defends). Direction-refusal discipline stands (9-for-9): do not pre-assign index direction before the print.
  • VIX regime: 14.18 — LOW (<18), eased slightly from 14.32. Benign for the overnight carry. Logged, never gating — no VIX filter by design (considered and rejected in Phase 2).
  • Key levels: SPY prior close 773.12, prior range 767.47–774.01, above the 20-day SMA 769.16 (QQQ right at its own, 717.67 vs 717.71) after Thursday's trending relief rally (SPY +1.04%). ATR(14) 5.48. VESPER's only levels are its own anchors: 772.62 — cycle 37's entry (Thu 09-03 16:00 auction-inclusive SIP close, the Thursday-night NFP-carrying hold currently open, exiting 09:31 this morning) — and tonight's 16:00 auction print (cycle 38's entry, the Friday-night Labor-Day-long-weekend hold Fri 16:00 → Tue 09-08 09:31). The exit is temporal, not price-based.
  • Macro backdrop: A genuine rates/Fed tug-of-war (Warsh hawkish at Jackson Hole vs Waller leaning hold — "we can wait one meeting") layered over the still-live US–Iran / Hormuz geopolitical clock (Brent ~$95 / WTI ~$90.7, up big on the week but easing today). Thursday proved the rate leg can outrank the geopolitical leg. The secondary weekend-gap risk into Tuesday's open is geopolitical — the ceasefire clock crosses the long weekend unresolved. For VESPER, the two named tails are this morning's NFP exit (cycle 37) and tonight's long-weekend entry (cycle 38) — both carried unconditionally, watched, not gated.

vesper — SPY (PM: VESPER)

Forecast: p_trade 1.0, direction long, conviction high.

Setup present: Yes — by design, always. There is no setup to wait for. Cycle 37 (Thu 09-03 16:00 entry 772.62 → Fri 09-04 09:31 — the Thursday-night NFP-carrying hold, open in the ledger at 772.62 / $22,960.24 notional / 29.72 shares / 90.0% of $25,511 equity) exits at the 09:31 bar open this morning — pricing the full NFP reaction. At 15:50 tonight VESPER enters cycle 38 at the 16:00 close. Both legs answered unconditionally.

Cycle 37's exit is the deferred two-sided call the 09-03 plan pre-registered. It carried the NFP print inside its hold window — the 09:31 open is whatever the market resolves the print to. Neither branch is a finding; both are inside the validated 2018–2024 sample (which contains the −26.5% COVID drawdown by construction). Descriptive, never actionable.

The long-weekend question — tonight's entry (cycle 38) IS the Labor Day hold, and the answer is unchanged: VESPER holds. This is the load-bearing call for today, and I will be direct about it. Tonight (Fri 09-04 16:00) VESPER enters the Friday-night hold across the Labor Day long weekend — Mon Sep 7 is a market holiday — exiting at the 09:31 open on Tue Sep 8. That spans three calendar days of market closure (Fri night + Sat + Sun + Mon) with the position absorbing two additional sessions of overnight/intraday drift compound plus a live geopolitical clock (US–Iran/Hormuz ceasefire unresolved into the holiday). This does NOT change VESPER's posture or size. Three reasons, in order of weight:

  1. Rule 4 is explicit and pre-registered: "Holidays / weekends: the overnight hold spans them. Friday's close → Monday's open is one observation; a pre-holiday close → next session's open is one observation. This matches the replication's measurement convention exactly." A pre-holiday Friday hold is not an edge case — it is a named, ordinary case in the validated strategy doc. The long-weekend span (Fri→Tue) is one observation under the replication's convention, exactly how the ~1759-cycle backtest that cleared GO counted every pre-holiday cycle.
  2. The cleared mechanism already contains every pre-holiday and weekend cycle in 2018–2024. The unconditional hold IS the validated strategy. Any conditioning — a skip, or a size cut on the holiday-eve entry — must first beat the unconditional baseline in a Phase 2+ Bench study. None has earned that yet. A unilateral skip tonight would be an unvalidated deviation from the cleared operating contract.
  3. The long-weekend premium accrual is the point, not the risk. The overnight leg exists because the night is when the risk lives. A Friday-eve entry that spans a holiday carries the compounding of every closed session it absorbs — that is exactly the drift compound the premium is priced to harvest. Sizing down or skipping on the long-weekend carry would reduce mean capture on precisely the class of session the edge is built to hold.

So: cycle 38 enters tonight at the standard 90% of equity notional (recomputed at order time from post-exit equity), fractional shares, no leverage, no skip, no event-conditioned sizing, no holiday conditioning. The long-weekend gap risk is inside the accepted envelope: a −5% overnight gap (COVID-limit-down territory) costs −4.5% of equity and is survivable by construction at 0.9 notional, no leverage; the backtest's in-sample worst is COVID's −26.5% on equity, and no single pre-holiday weekend approaches that. A Tuesday gap against the position, however wide, is taken and logged — a single observation, not a kill signal.

Session-character fit: Perfect by construction — the stack is never in the market while it is open. The NFP-driven, direction-unknown-until-8:30 intraday tape is irrelevant; VESPER is flat by 09:31. The relevant character is overnight: VIX LOW at 14.18, and the two named tails are this morning's NFP exit (cycle 37, closed at the 09:31 open) and tonight's long-weekend carry (cycle 38), both carried unconditionally.

Monitors check:

  • Mechanism watch: trailing-250 +8.277 bps/day, trailing-500 +4.995 bps/day (as of the cache edge) — both ~12.6×/7.6× above the 0.655 kill threshold. Premium intact. Caveat carried forward (26th filing, still open): the read is cache-edge (through 2024-12-31) because the live SIP extension degrades silently on a missing pydantic_core dependency — the fallback must be loud, and the dependency needs fixing so the next read is as-of-today. An as-of-today mechanism read is exactly the number that would independently confirm the premium is intact heading into a long-weekend gap — and it is unavailable. Already recorded (2026-08-04 VESPER retrospective), unchanged, no new information; not re-filed.
  • Execution-cost SPRT: CONSISTENT-WITH-BACKTEST (n≈36 as of the 09-03 reflection, LLR +13.500). Simulation only — fills price at the anchors, shortfall ≡ 0; decision-relevant only against real broker fills. Last realized round-trip ~1.0000 bps — on the ≤ 1.0 bps/day budget, no breach.
  • Edge SPRT: CONTINUE — formal-only; cannot decide at realistic samples (~18.5 years). CONTINUE is not evidence of edge.

Continuity note for the desk record: Cycle 37 completes at 09:31 this morning (the Thursday-night NFP-carrying hold, entered 772.62) and rolls into the cumulative at EOD today. Running realized mean ≈ +6.35 net bps/day through the 09-03 reflection (n=36, above the 3.151 anchor) — paper-phase execution-fidelity signal at ~80 bps daily SD, sampling noise, not edge evidence. Plan calibration: perfect scored rows since founding (Brier 0.0) once today's row closes; the 08-07 row remains the only gap (morning dispatch hole, not a forecast miss).

Invalidation: None structural. An unconditional strategy has no invalidation condition by design. The kill discipline is the mechanism watch on market data (trailing-250/500 < 0.655 bps/day gross → TEMPER review), checked daily, not resolvable intra-session, and not conditional on any NFP, Iran, oil, or holiday outcome. Tonight's entry is the long-weekend carry — no skip trigger exists by design (rules 4 & 5). If Tuesday's 09:31 exit gaps against the position on a hot NFP + geopolitical weekend, VESPER takes and logs the loss — that is the price of the premium. A 2022-regime drawdown (≈ −11.4% on equity at 0.9 notional) is within tolerance and is not a kill signal; the −26.5% COVID drawdown is inside the validated sample. The only stand-downs are force-majeure (closing auction failure, account/regulatory constraint, exchange halt) — none indicated (firm-wide NO-GO applies to intraday desks; VESPER's overnight hold is not gated — the intraday NO-GO is explicitly not VESPER's rule; today is a normal session).

What I am watching: (1) Cycle 37's 09:31 exit print vs entry 772.62 — the NFP-carried overnight payoff; two-sided, no pre-assigned direction, neither branch a finding. (2) Tonight's 16:00 auction print for cycle 38 — the Friday-night Labor-Day long-weekend hold (Fri 16:00 → Tue 09-08 09:31), entered at standard 90% size, unconditionally — the long-weekend drift compound is the premium harvested, and the geopolitical ceasefire clock crosses the holiday unresolved as the named weekend-gap tail. No skip, no sizing-down; rules 4 & 5. (3) The mechanism watch stays green (trailing-250 +8.277 / −500 +4.995 vs 0.655) — the only number that can ever stop me — and the live-SIP dependency fix gets done so the next read is as-of-today (26th filing). After 09:31, flat and idle until 15:50 — doing exactly nothing, which is the discipline.

Plan Filed

  • Filed: 2026-09-04 04:33 PDT
  • Frontmatter forecasts complete for every active member: yes (vesper: p_trade 1.0, direction long, conviction high)
  • Mechanism watch confirms premium intact: yes (trailing-250 +8.277, trailing-500 +4.995 — both > 0.655 kill threshold; cache-edge caveat carried forward, 26th filing, still open)
  • Cost budget confirmed: realized-cost check last cycle ~1.0000 bps round-trip, on the ≤ 1.0 bps/day budget
  • Event risk today: HIGH (Tier-1 NFP at 8:30 ET; then the Labor Day long weekend, Mon Sep 7 closed). Firm-wide NO-GO for intraday desks — not VESPER's rule; VESPER's overnight hold is unconditional.
  • Cycle 37 (Thu 09-03 16:00 entry 772.62 → Fri 09-04 09:31 — the Thursday-night NFP-carrying hold) exits 09:31 ET this morning, pricing the full NFP reaction. A real trade booked today, held unconditionally (rule 5).
  • Cycle 38 enters at tonight's 16:00 close — the Friday-night Labor Day long-weekend hold (Fri 16:00 → Tue 09-08 09:31), at standard 90% size, unconditionally. No skip, no sizing-down, no holiday conditioning — rules 4 & 5; the long-weekend drift compound is the premium harvested, and no conditioning has beaten the unconditional baseline in a Bench study. The risk is the premium.

House Vesper — Desk Reflection — 2026-09-04

Plan reference: desks/house-vesper/plans/2026-09-04-plan.md EOD briefing: dadbrain/Analysis/briefings/2026-09-04-eod.md PM: VESPER — the evening star, the first light after the close.

What Happened (desk level)

One desk, one member, one unconditional overnight stack. Single-session window since the 09-03 filing — and today the overnight premium paid its NEGATIVE side on a Tier-1 gap night. Cycle 37 (the Thursday-night NFP-carrying hold, Thu 09-03 16:00 entry 772.62 → Fri 09-04 09:31) completed THIS MORNING as a small LOSS: SPY bought at Thursday's 16:00 auction-inclusive anchor (29.7174 shares, $22,960.24 notional, 90.0% of equity) → sold at this morning's 09:31 bar open — 772.23 — −$11.59 gross / −$13.89 net (−5.0478 gross / −6.0478 net bps), commission $2.30 ≈ 1.0000 bps, on the ≤ 1.0 bps/day budget, no breach, roundtrip_shortfall_bps = 0.0.

The morning's NFP was a ~3× hot beat — August +162K vs ~+55K consensus, upward prior revisions (July −23K → +21K, June +20K → +31K) — and the market opened risk-off on the good-news-is-bad-news hike repricing (yields up ~6 bp toward 4.53%, Sept-hike odds re-opened). The 09:31 exit priced the full NFP reaction lower than my entry, and the tape faded into a contained, two-tier close — SPY −0.38% (770.18), QQQ +0.20%, Dow −0.51%, VIX 14.53 LOW, sub-ATR (SPY 0.75×, QQQ 0.64×) — the value/Dow leg the AM had named the "defensive floor" was in fact the weakest. None of that daytime tape is this desk's to capture (flat by 09:31 by construction); the edge is the 09:31 open, which paid −6.05 net bps this morning.

This was the down branch of a call today's plan explicitly pre-registered as two-sided — "no pre-assigned direction; neither branch a finding, both logged on the level." The NFP gap risk is the premium; rule 5 held — no event-conditioned sizing, no skip, no waver. A −6.05 bps night on an ~80 bps daily SD is a ~0.1σ realization, a single observation inside the validated 2018–2024 sample that already contains every NFP cycle by construction — the price of the premium paying its negative side on an NFP-gap night, descriptive and never actionable (rule 4: kill discipline is the market-data mechanism watch, never P&L pain). The magnitude arc continues its two-sidedness: cycle 33 −25.83 / 34 −78.41 / 35 +6.22 / 36 +42.13 / 37 −6.05 — the coin answering its coin, back-to-back wins now followed by a small negative, exactly the sampling noise a return-based benchmark (net bps/day, never win rate) is built to absorb.

Cycle 38 opened at tonight's close — the Friday-night Labor Day long-weekend hold (Fri 09-04 16:00 → Tue 09-08 09:31, Mon Sep 7 closed): MOC entry 770.05 at the 16:00 auction-inclusive anchor, $22,947.74 notional (~29.80 shares), 90.0% of equity ($25,497.49), held unconditionally at standard size — no holiday or event-conditioned sizing (rules 4 & 5). This carry spans the 3-day weekend; the live tails into Tuesday's open are the freshly-hawkish NFP repricing and the US–Iran / Hormuz escalation with oil at six-week highs (the EOD forward look's named weekend-gap risk). The long-weekend drift compound is the premium; a Tuesday gap against the position, however wide, is taken and logged as a single observation, not a kill signal.

Session context (desk-level, for the record): event risk HIGH held (Tier-1 NFP printed 8:30 ET, inside cycle 37's hold window); VIX 14.53 LOW; session resolved contained two-tier — SPY −0.38% / QQQ +0.20% on a hot-print risk-off that the pre-weekend, pre-priced tape failed to chase into a trend. Irrelevant to this desk's mechanics by construction (flat by 09:31); it only shaped the level of this morning's exit (772.23) and tonight's entry (770.05). What mattered to me: cycle 37's overnight carry resolved down −6.05 net bps at the open, and cycle 38 now carries the week's real risk — the hawkish-FOMC + Iran/Hormuz weekend — overnight and across the holiday, unconditionally.

The Load-Bearing Question: What Was the Binding Gate This Period?

Neither regime nor calibration — no gate of this desk was grazed, and the period was a clean demonstration that the overnight carry pays BOTH its sides, this time the downside. For an unconditional stack there is no setup gate to bind and no threshold to graze — the blocked= near-miss notes are empty by construction, always, and no p_trade gate was ever under consideration (p_trade 1.0, direction long, conviction high, by design). The period's genuine content is cycle 37's NFP-gap loss (−6.05 net bps) following the back-to-back wins of cycles 35/36 (+6.22 / +42.13). Is one loss evidence of anything? No — and the honesty label cuts both ways, now on the loss side. The overnight SD is ~80 bps; cycle 37's −6.05 bps is a ~0.1σ night. Two wins followed by a small negative on an ~80 bps daily coin-flip is exactly the sampling noise a return-based benchmark (net bps/day, never win rate) is built to absorb without overreacting in either direction. No TEMPER conversation on any gate is warranted, no tweak, no alarm — the run of positives was no more a signal than this single negative is. The gates that can bind all read green:

  • Execution-cost Gaussian SPRT (decision-capable): CONSISTENT-WITH-BACKTEST, n=37, LLR +13.875 (−10.931 to CONSISTENT / −16.819 to DEGRADED). Simulation only — fills price at the anchors, shortfall ≡ 0; decision-relevant only against real broker fills. Cycle 37's realized round-trip was ~1.0000 bps (roundtrip_shortfall_bps = 0.0) — on the ≤ 1.0 bps/day budget, no breach, on a loss night as on the wins; cost discipline held to the basis point.
  • Edge Gaussian SPRT (formal-only): CONTINUE, n=37, LLR +0.066. Cannot decide at realistic samples (~18.5 yr); CONTINUE is not evidence of edge — and that honesty label cuts both ways on a −6 bps night (a loss is not evidence of decay any more than a win was evidence of edge).
  • Mechanism watch (the only kill-capable gate): LIVE and green — trailing-250 +6.571 / trailing-500 +4.651 bps/day vs the 0.655 floor (~10.0×/7.1× above), n=2178 pairs, last exit 2026-09-04, no DEGRADED flag. Notable state change: today's run returned a live as-of-today read — NO cache fallback. The prior cache-edge read (through 2024-12-31, +8.277/+4.995) has been superseded by a live extension of the series to today, meaning the standing recommendation on the open item logged 2026-08-04 | VESPER | type: retrospective in learnings.md (the missing-pydantic_core silent-fallback dependency fix / loud-fallback correction) appears to have been applied. Flagged as a genuinely-new finding for learnings.md (not appended here — TEMPER's channel); the prior entry exists and this is a resolution-of-state, not a re-flag of the open gap. The premium is confirmed intact by the only number that can stop me, on the very night and heading into a weekend where an as-of-today read was the decision-relevant one.

Continuity for the desk record: 37 completed cycles, net +$497.49 cumulative (gross +$581.59, commissions $84.10), ≈ +222.47 net bps (gross ≈ +258.47), mean ≈ +6.01 net bps/day realized vs the 3.151 cleared anchor — a single small negative pulled the mean down ~0.34 from yesterday's +6.35; at n=37 on an ~80 bps daily SD this is sampling noise, and the edge SPRT's honesty label cuts both ways. Win rate 62.2% (23/37) — not the benchmark; net bps/day is. Plan calibration: perfect since founding (Brier 0.0 on every scored row); the 09-04 row — p_trade 1.0 / long / high, traded=1, n_trades=1, direction long→long hit — scored perfect (Brier 0.0) on today's real long exit. The 08-07 dispatch hole and the 09-02 reflection gap remain the only gaps in the otherwise-continuous scored/reflection record (record-keeping, not forecast or trading misses).

Operational note (positive): no runner-starvation backfill this period, and the shared EOD desk-summary's VESPER line (exited prior cycle, opened overnight SPY at $770.05 / ~$22,947.74 notional, carried over the long weekend) matched my stack's ledger. The mechanism-watch live-read resolution is the one substantive state change this period (see above and Learnings).

Plan Accuracy (desk level)

DimensionRating (1–5)Notes
Event risk call5HIGH held exactly — NFP (Tier-1) was the live driver and it moved the day; cycle 37 (Thu-night) WAS the NFP-carrying hold, named and carried unconditionally at standard size, no over- or under-statement (rule 5)
Session character call5Irrelevant to this desk's mechanics by construction (flat by 09:31) — but honest: the AM expected a trending post-NFP resolution and the tape closed contained/two-tier (SPY 0.75×, QQQ 0.64× ATR); the desk's only relevant character is overnight, which resolved down −6.05 net bps on the hot print
Setup prediction5Unconditional — the only forecast is exit/entry placement: cycle 37 exited at the 09:31 open 772.23 (−6.05 net bps, the down branch of the pre-registered two-sided call), cycle 38 entered 770.05 tonight, the deferred long-weekend hold at standard size without sizing-down
Adjustments5None made — 90% notional, 16:00 anchor, 09:31 exit, all standard, no event-conditioned sizing through the NFP hold (rule 5; validation forbids conditioning without a study that first beats the baseline); cost realized at ~1.0000 bps = the budget, roundtrip_shortfall_bps = 0.0, no breach

Overall plan accuracy: 5 / 5. Machine-scored: the 09-04 plan forecast p_trade 1.0 / long / high; cycle 37's exit booked today is a real long trade, direction long → long hit — Brier 0.0, extending the perfect scored run since founding. The plan's structural point was exactly right and is the whole story: cycle 37 was held unconditionally at standard size through the two-sided NFP call, the loss branch printed, and I held to it on the level; cycle 38 was entered tonight at standard 90% into the long weekend, no skip, no holiday sizing-down (rules 4 & 5).

Learnings (desk level)

  • The overnight premium paid its downside — the down branch of a plan pre-registered as two-sided, logged, not a finding: cycle 37 (Thu-night, entry 772.62) exited 09-04 at −5.0478 gross / −6.0478 net bps (−$13.89), off a hot +162K NFP risk-off print the 09:31 open priced lower. The instructive structural detail is not the loss but that it was the down side of the call this morning's plan had explicitly named two-sided. A −6.05 bps night on ~80 bps daily SD is a ~0.1σ realization, the coin answering the coin after the +42.13 of 09-03; it is not evidence of decay, and no calibration tweak is warranted for an unconditional stack (rule 1). The only number that can ever stop this desk — the mechanism watch — reads live-green (trailing-250 +6.571 / trailing-500 +4.651 vs 0.655).
  • The magnitude arc is now a completed two-sided sequence, not a run — 25th data point: cycle 33 −25.83 / 34 −78.41 / 35 +6.22 / 36 +42.13 / 37 −6.05 — the two-loss run, two wins, then a small negative. My magnitude modeling of my own exits holds in both directions across the full arc; a small negative after two wins on an ~80 bps/day coin-flip is as expected as a small positive would have been. Cumulative mean ≈ +6.01 net bps/day over 37 cycles (net +$497.49, ≈+222.47 net bps), still above the 3.151 anchor; WR 62.2% — not the benchmark. No calibration fix warranted for an unconditional stack.
  • Cycle 38's carry — the Friday-night Labor Day long-weekend hold, held unconditionally at standard size (logged, not a finding): entered 770.05 at tonight's 16:00 anchor, $22,947.74 notional, 90.0% of equity, held into Tue 09-08 09:31 across Mon Sep 7 closed. The live tails into Tuesday's open: the hawkish NFP repricing and the US–Iran / Hormuz escalation with oil at six-week highs (weekend-gap risk). Held without skip or sizing-down (rules 4 & 5); the long-weekend drift compound is the premium. A Tuesday gap against the position, however wide, is taken and logged as a single observation, not a kill signal.
  • Flag for learnings.md (genuinely-new, resolution-of-state): the mechanism-watch silent-cache-fallback finding appears RESOLVED. Today's mechanism_watch.py run returned a live as-of-today read — n=2178 pairs, last exit 2026-09-04, trailing-250 +6.571 / trailing-500 +4.651 vs the 0.655 floor — no cache fallback (prior cache-edge read was frozen through 2024-12-31 at +8.277/+4.995; the series now extends live to today). The open item logged 2026-08-04 | VESPER | type: retrospective in learnings.md (missing-pydantic_core silent fallback) has evidently been fixed — the standing recommendation is in force. Flagging for learnings.md, not appending here — the prior entry exists and updating it is TEMPER's channel.
  • No other new record-keeping gap this period; the 09-02 reflection gap remains a prior open item (record-keeping, not trading).

Desk Summary (orchestrator-facing)

  • VESPER (SPY, unconditional overnight): cycle 37 (Thu-night, entry 772.62) exited 09-04 at −5.0478 gross / −6.0478 net bps (−$13.89), cost ~1.0 bps (roundtrip_shortfall_bps = 0.0) — the down branch of the plan's pre-registered two-sided NFP call off a hot +162K risk-off print, the premium paying its negative side on an NFP-gap night, not a finding. Cycle 38 entered 770.05 at standard 90% size tonight — the Friday-night Labor Day long-weekend hold into Tue 09-08 09:31, no skip, no holiday sizing-down (rules 4 & 5), carrying the hawkish-NFP + Iran/Hormuz weekend-gap tails. Monitors green (execution-cost CONSISTENT n=37 LLR +13.875; edge CONTINUE; mechanism watch LIVE-green, no cache fallback — resolution of the 2026-08-04 silent-fallback finding, flagged for learnings.md). Cumulative +$497.49 net / ≈+222.47 net bps over 37 cycles, mean ≈+6.01 net bps/day vs the 3.151 anchor. Binding gate this period: none — neither regime nor calibration; one loss after two wins is no more a signal than the wins were; no threshold grazed → no tweak, no TEMPER conversation on any gate. Plan calibration perfect (Brier 0.0), extending since founding.
  • Watching: (1) cycle 38's Tue 09-08 09:31 exit of the Friday-night long-weekend hold — the hawkish-FOMC + Iran/Hormuz weekend-gap carry into Tuesday's open, held unconditionally at standard size; a gap against the position, however wide, is the price of the premium, logged not acted on. (2) Then CPI Sep 11 and the Sept 15–16 FOMC as the next Tier-1 pivots. (3) mechanism-watch live read now confirmed (resolved open item) — keep the live extension working. (4) cost stays at the 1.0 bps budget.

Reflection Filed

  • Filed: 2026-09-04 (EOD reflection run)
  • Desk-blind rule observed: no other desk's directory read or referenced
  • Next-session event risk (from EOD briefing): cycle 38 is the Friday-night Labor Day long-weekend hold — Fri 09-04 16:00 entry 770.05 → Tue 09-08 09:31, Mon Sep 7 closed — held unconditionally at standard 90% size (rules 4 & 5), no skip, no holiday sizing-down. The live tails into Tuesday's open: the hawkish NFP repricing (hike odds re-opened toward the Sept 15–16 FOMC) and the US–Iran / Hormuz escalation with oil at six-week highs (weekend-gap risk). Next Tier-1: CPI Sep 11 (the CPI/FOMC gate). A Tuesday gap against the position, however wide, is taken and logged as a single observation, not a kill signal. The level I receive, the decision I do not make; today's lesson stands — the overnight premium pays either side of its two-sided drift, and the downside branch that printed today I took on the level, which is the discipline, no more and no less than when the upside branch printed on 09-03.
