Shared Market Read

  • Event risk today: HIGH — and it is the hard-skip event itself. August Non-Farm Payrolls (Employment Situation) prints 8:30 AM ET, consensus ~+55K (+53–58K cluster; MUFG +70K) vs July's −23K hard miss. U/R expected to hold 4.1% (MUFG sees an uptick risk to 4.2%), AHE +0.3% m/m (3.0% y/y). Firm-wide status per the Scanner watchlist: NO-GO — macro data release; all desks hold; no trade inputs this session. Both of this desk's members carry NFP in their pre-registered Tier-1 hard-skip set (shared/event_calendar.py, tier_filter=2) — the paper runners will log no_trade:event_day:NFP_tier1 before any signal evaluation. The actual has NOT printed at filing time (~4:30 AM PT / 7:30 AM ET); verify at 8:30.
  • Session character expected: news-driven / event-driven / directionally binary. The market has priced a ~50/50 Sept 15–16 FOMC coin flip (Warsh hawkish at Jackson Hole vs Waller's "we can wait one meeting" hold-lean, which cut hike odds ~13 pts and powered Thursday's +1% relief rally). The binary: soft NFP → locks the FOMC hold, extends the rate-sensitive relief leg; hot NFP / hot wages → re-ignites the Warsh hike leg and reverses Thursday's tape. Structure will not form until after the 8:30 print. The briefing's direction-refusal discipline stands (9-for-9): on a LOW-VIX, Tier-1-data day whose live risk is a binary Fed/rates outcome, do not pre-assign index direction — and do NOT default it to contained/sub-ATR (a data surprise plus a live rate signal can break the tape at 1.6× ATR or more).
  • VIX regime: 14.18 — LOW (<18), −0.14 vs prior 14.32. Both stacks' best backtested regime (MNEME VIX<20 PF 2.39; TRACE VIX<20 PF 2.46) — moot today: the event filter closes the session before regime matters. The regime matters only for what today would have looked like had it been tradeable, and for Tuesday's read (Labor Day Mon Sep 7 closed).
  • Key levels: SPY prior close 773.12, prior range 767.47–774.01, SMA20 769.16 (SPY above its 20-day SMA after Thursday's clean trending-up relief rally), ATR(14) 5.48. QQQ prior close 717.67, prior range 709.73–718.89, at SMA20 (717.71), ATR 8.17. DIA not in the briefing price block — confirm the gap at the open for framing only; TRACE's KNN gate governs. The level that matters today is the gap itself: a >1.5% open gap either direction is both stacks' standing "pattern library is thin at index extremes" invalidation, and the most likely NFP-day outcome. Pre-market index futures modestly higher (tech-led, S&P/Nasdaq up; Dow roughly flat/slightly lower) — a mild continuation tone into the print.
  • Macro backdrop: The week's pivot and the read-ahead into the Sept FOMC. Thursday proved the rate/Fed leg can outrank the live US–Iran / Hormuz oil escalation (oil easing today ~$95 Brent, but up big on the week; weekend gap risk into Tuesday's open). Whatever prints, today's intraday structure is NFP-shaped, not pattern-library-shaped — and this desk's mechanism, per its own founding documents, treats macro-catalyst sessions as having no valid historical precedent: any KNN match on an NFP-shaped day is spurious. That is why both stacks skip, and it is the frame for every section below.
  • Desk-wide call — NO-GO, HOLD. Both stacks hard-skip today; zero exposure is the base case for the entire desk. There is no live signal question and no sizing question: the Tier-1 event filter is a hard gate, not a sizing input. Both members log no_trade:event_day:NFP_tier1, both SPRT monitors stay static, and no clustered observation is added to the pooled Family 5 record. This is a learning/observation day only.

MNEME — SPY KNN (p_trade 0.0, none, low)

No trade expected — NFP hard skip (Tier-1, pre-registered). My paper_trade.py closes the session on is_event_day(trade_date, tier_filter=2) before any KNN gate runs: no window (A 9:30–10:00 / B 10:00–12:00 / C 12:00–14:00 observation) will be evaluated, no vote or max_sim computed, no entry permitted. The 08-07 NFP precedent applies verbatim: the session's bar structure is fundamentally shaped by the market's reaction to the print; my pattern library has no parallel universe where the same bar pattern occurred absent NFP context — any historical match is spurious, and the KNN gates would be measuring NFP-reaction noise as if it were normal SPY microstructure.

Setup present: No — hard skip. I do not dress this up. My mechanism is healthy (SPRT CONSISTENT-WITH-BACKTEST, 22 trades, 50.0% WR, +$1,041.36, LLR +4.063; last real fire 08-27 Window B), but today is precisely the day my own 30-day deliverable flagged as open — my event-day blackout reads as foregone opportunity, not protection (blackout-date trades n=47, WR 42.6%, PF 3.28, in line with or better than the general population PF 3.07). TEMPER has made no call on that finding; the deliverable reported, it did not act, and the skip remains absolute. Today is a learning data point for that question, not a license.

  • Sizing vs. event risk: N/A — the event filter is a hard gate, not a sizing input. No defensive sizing, no shadow book, no "half-size the skip." Standard 0.75% ($187.50) remains the answer for any tradeable day; today is not one.
  • Session-character fit: the worst fit in my calendar — NFP-shaped days are the spurious-match class by design.
  • Key levels (learning reference): SPY prior close 773.12, range 767.47–774.01, SMA20 769.16. Whether the post-print tape holds 767.47 or reclaims 774.01 toward the mid-August record tells me whether today's tape, had it been tradeable, would have been a library-recognizable continuation day or a gap-resolution chop day. A >1.5% open gap either direction = the extreme the library handles worst.
  • Invalidation: absolute — nothing today changes execution; my SPRT stays static (CONSISTENT-WITH-BACKTEST, LLR +4.063).
  • What I'm watching to learn: (1) the print at 8:30 — headline vs cons, AHE, U-3, and the initial gap direction; soft vs hot decides which historical regime today's tape joins, and it is a live data point for the event-day foregone-opportunity question since the deliverable filed. (2) Whether Window A's observation window (9:30–10:00) forms a library-recognizable shape (post-print continuation, orderly pullback) or gap-resolution chaos (wide two-sided range, VIX spike) — that measures how spurious today's matches would have been, i.e. the skip's diagnostic value. (3) Whether SPY holds SMA20 769.16 / the 767.47 prior-range low — whether the relief trend survives the print or reverses.

TRACE — DIA KNN (p_trade 0.0, none, low)

No trade expected — NFP hard skip (Tier-1, pre-registered). Same mechanism, same frame, with a DIA-specific reason it is especially correct today: my 2026-07-16 event-day deliverable (TEMPER-ratified 2026-08-01) found my 21 event-day trades underperform (WR 28.6% / PF 1.37 vs the general 46.1% / 2.21) — my blackout is genuinely protective, the opposite of MNEME's read on its own instrument. The KNN contamination diagnostic (VERDICT ROBUST, ratified 2026-08-01) adds the mechanical layer: event days sitting in my candidate pool don't carry the edge — pool-exclusion held PF at or above cleared levels both periods. So today's skip is the pre-registered rule doing exactly what my own evidence says it should. The 07-02 NFP precedent states the operative principle and it still holds: the hard skip applies whether or not the print is "absorbed" before observation windows open — the bars are macro-catalyst-shaped, not normal Dow microstructure, and my library has no clean analogue for that.

Setup present: No — hard skip. I will not call the day dead as a market — the Dow's cyclicals/energy/industrial tilt (CAT, HON, MMM, CVX) is the direct labor-read proxy and may well be the supported side of a soft-print open — but dead for my signal, by rule and by evidence.

  • Sizing vs. event risk: N/A — gate, not sizing input. No defensive sizing; the SPRT is explicitly not a sizing input either. The DEGRADED-clock is static today (LLR −1.703, −1.241 from the −2.944 DEGRADED boundary): no trade can log, so nothing advances; the pre-registered DEGRADED protocol resolves on the next non-skip tradeable session, not today.
  • Session-character fit: NFP-shaped days are the spurious-match class by design; a hot print hits the Dow's cyclicals hardest. Today's tape is the character my backtest library has few clean analogues for.
  • Key levels (learning reference): DIA not in the briefing price block; my recent Phase 3 band ~$515–535 (last entry 08-27, $535.71). How the post-print Dow resolves relative to that band tells me whether my recent losing shape (open-high-fade on gap-up opens) is an NFP-adjacent or normal-Dow phenomenon.
  • Invalidation: absolute — nothing today changes execution; the skip overrides all three windows regardless of what the KNN would have resolved. The standing data-observability all-window-blank item (08-28, 08-31, 09-01, 09-02, 09-03 — five consecutive) is background today; the skip is the binding gate, so the data path is moot until the next tradeable session.
  • What I'm watching to learn: (1) the print and the Dow's first-hour reaction — which leg leads, and whether DIA's cyclicals take the labor read hardest (hot → Dow leads down; soft → Dow-side bid holds). (2) Whether the gates would have cleared today — with the honest caveat that today's vote/sim readings, if any, are computed on NFP-shaped bars and are contaminated by the event context: they are diagnostic of the library, NOT evidence for or against the 62%-cluster thesis. The standing "six distinct sessions resolving at exactly 60%" pattern stays open and gets its next honest data point on a normal session. (3) Whether the post-print tape confirms or breaks the trend that reclaimed SPY above its SMA20 — a free observation of the continuation-vs-reversal read that governs my next live day.

Pooled note (Family 5)

Both stacks skip today — zero trades, no clustered observation added to the pooled Family 5 record, and both SPRT monitors are static (MNEME CONSISTENT-WITH-BACKTEST, LLR +4.063; TRACE CONTINUE, LLR −1.703). The intra-desk asymmetry in the event-day deliverables is the interesting pooled fact, and it is the strongest reason both skips are right for their own instrument: MNEME's blackout reads as foregone opportunity on SPY (PF 3.28 on-blackout vs 3.07 general — the skip costs edge), TRACE's as genuine protection on DIA (PF 1.37 on-blackout vs 2.21 general — the skip saves edge). Both are pre-registered rules; neither stack has the discretion to act on its own deliverable without a TEMPER call. Today adds one live observation to each reading. Same-family rule unchanged: nothing fired, nothing clusters; each stack's sizing is independent and neither has any today. GHOST stays frozen (Phase 2, Decision D2) — no plan, no forecast. The session's spine is the 8:30 print and how the market resolves the Sept-FOMC coin flip into the Labor Day weekend (Mon Sep 7 closed); next Tier-1 after today is CPI Sep 11, then FOMC Sep 16.

Cadence Rule Header

Weekly/Friday or same-day-on-trade. Today is Friday 2026-09-04, the weekly Friday cadence trigger. Period scope: everything since the last desk reflection (2026-08-31) — the four trading sessions 09-01, 09-02, 09-03, and 09-04. Neither member took a real trade in any of the four (no_trade each session, $0.00 combined), so no same-day-on-trade trigger fired before today. GHOST remains frozen (Phase 2, Decision D2) — no reflection.

Combined desk cumulative (Phase 3): +$692.15 across 30 trades (22 MNEME +$1,041.36, 8 TRACE −$349.21), combined 40.0% WR (12W/18L). This period: 0 trades, $0.00 — a four-session no-trade week for the entire desk, three of it on the desk's live no-trade side and the fourth (09-04) a pre-registered NFP Tier-1 hard skip.

The week: a geopolitical-pivot tape then the NFP hard-skip — the desk's structural reads held all four sessions

The EOD brief for 09-04 describes a contained two-tier hot-NFP session: +162K vs ~+55K consensus (~3× beat), unemployment holding 4.1%, Dow −0.51% (weakest leg — the inverse of the AM's "defensive floor" framing), S&P −0.38%, while mega-cap tech/momentum carried QQQ +0.20% (MSTR +17.6%, PLTR +7.7%, NVDA +1.8%). Sub-ATR ranges (SPY 0.75×, QQQ 0.64× ATR), VIX 14.53 LOW — the hot print resolved contained, not trending, because it was partially pre-priced and it was a pre-holiday Friday. Earlier in the week the tape was a live two-sided US–Iran / Hormuz geopolitical escalation (09-01 re-escalated, 09-02 same) then a flat contained pre-NFP positioning session (09-03, with ISM Services on the Window A leg).

This desk skipped 09-04 by rule (both stacks carry NFP in their pre-registered Tier-1 hard-skip set — no_trade:event_day:NFP_tier1), the correct call and the desk's cleanest, and was structurally correct not to trade on 09-01/02/03 either: the two-sided geopolitical tape and the flat pre-NFP tape are precisely the "no-clean-continuation" characters where a long-only KNN continuation mechanism should stand down. MNEME got full data on all three live days and no window ever produced a decisive continuation vote; TRACE was again starved of B/C data on 09-01/02 and only partially delivered on 09-03. The no-trade side of the desk is doing exactly what the mechanism and the plan say it should; the desk's one unresolved operational thread (TRACE's B/C observability) dominates the period's findings.

MNEME — full data all week, healthy similarity, votes clustering just under the bar: a genuine regime/session-character read, no threshold graze

MNEME was not data-blocked on any live session this week — all three windows delivered complete reads on 09-01/02/03 — and no window ever produced a decisive continuation vote. The near-miss reading across the week: similarity was healthy in every A-window read (sim 0.771 on 09-01, 0.858 on 09-02, 0.924 on 09-03 — all well above the 0.50 floor), but the votes clustered just under or well under the 62% bar: A ran 60% → 60% → 53% across the three live days (B and C decisively sub-bar throughout). The 60% on 09-01 and 09-02 A-windows is the closest thing to a near-miss in the period — 2pp below the bar on consecutive days — but it did not persist (A fell to 53% on 09-03), and it sits on exactly the days the plan pre-registered as structurally starved (two-sided geopolitical, no-clean-trend). This is the family-documented 60%-clustering observation (TEMPER 07-21: the 62% vote gate sits at the natural resolution point of the binomial KNN vote distribution — 60% is where sub-decisive votes cluster, a genuine market read, not a threshold error). SPRT stayed CONSISTENT-WITH-BACKTEST (LLR +4.063) all week, static (no trade). This is REGIME/session-character — the setup never came close to decisive on live days; no fix needed, wait. No unilateral tweak to locked v5 gates.

TRACE — the period's dominant finding: B/C observability persists (A returned once, sub-bar), DEGRADED clock still frozen just off the boundary

TRACE's binding gate all period was data availability, not the KNN gates. 09-01 and 09-02 were all-window blanks (A:no_data B:no_data C:no_data) — the fourth and fifth consecutive all-blank sessions counting back from 08-28/08-31. On 09-03 Window A finally delivered (the data path is intermittent, not one-way dead) — but it returned a decisively sub-bar vote of 30% (sim 0.813 ≥ 0.60) with B and C still no_data, so no qualifying fire was even close. Then 09-04 was the NFP skip. The observable B/C pattern is unchanged and unresolved: the engine effectively cannot attempt a signal on DIA's afternoon legs because B/C bars are not reaching it; A is only intermittently present. This is an operational/data-infra hand-off to ASSAY — the desk's highest-priority open item, now spanning 08-28 through 09-03 — not a calibration question; no calibration read can even be posed on partial/no data. SPRT stays CONTINUE (LLR −1.703, −1.241 from DEGRADED −2.944) — the DEGRADED clock cannot advance on a no-trade week and has held this exact boundary distance since the 08-27 qualifying fire.

A cleanly calibrated no-trade week for the desk — all eight forecasts were no-trade-leaning or zero, and neither member traded, so every Brier is low and the direction forecasts were never put to a test. MNEME's 0.25/0.25/0.20 across the three live geopolitical/pre-NFP days is an honest no-trade-expected-but-not-immune read that the mechanism honored (votes stayed sub-bar on exactly the wrong-character days). TRACE's 0.10/0.10/0.05 scores clean — but for data-absence reasons, not discipline, which is the honest (and recurring) caveat. 09-04's 0.00 forecast on the NFP hard skip is trivially correct.

Desk-level observations
  • The desk's no-trade side is healthy and correctly calibrated — a four-session zero-exposure week on wrong-character days and one rule-based hard skip. MNEME's full-data sub-bar votes on a two-sided geopolitical tape (09-01/02) and a flat pre-NFP tape (09-03), plus both stacks' rule-based NFP skip (09-04), are all the mechanism and the plan working as designed. There is no forced fire and no forced stand-down-by-timidity in this week — each $0 is earned by the structural read.
  • The desk's two binding threads stay cleanly separable across the same week. MNEME saw the market fully on 09-01/02/03 and declined on the vote gate (regime — genuine sub-bar continuation read), while TRACE could not see DIA's afternoon at all on 09-01/02 and only partially on 09-03 (operational — data absent). One stack's no-trade is a judgment; the other's is a blindness, and the asymmetry has now persisted since 08-28.
  • No co-fire, so no correlated-session counting concern — the pool gains zero observations this week.
  • MNEME's two-tier Window B whipsaw flag (N=2) carries forward unadvanced — MNEME never fired this period (no Window B trade, no new data point toward N=3). The watch stays open.
  • TRACE's DEGRADED clock sits frozen at −1.241 from the boundary — a no-trade week cannot advance the pre-registered protocol, so the risk is deferred but not reduced; the next qualifying DIA fire (whenever the data path lets one through) re-arms it.

Event Risk vs. Expectation

  • Event risk call for the period — the desk rated MEDIUM on the live geopolitical days (09-01/02/03, no Tier-1 scheduled) and HIGH on NFP day (09-04), and both were correct. The 09-01/02/03 geopolitical escalations were correctly not Tier-1 skips (is_event_day(tier_filter=2) does not fire on an escalation) — both stacks were technically live but the character argued against a clean continuation, and neither traded. On 09-04 the desk correctly rated the NFP HIGH and pre-registered the hard skip — the desk plan called it "NO-GO, HOLD, both stacks hard-skip" and both logged no_trade:event_day:NFP_tier1 before any signal evaluation. The hot +162K print was a real Tier-1, and skipping it is the pre-registered rule working, not timidity.
  • Session character: the week was a two-sided geopolitical tape (09-01/02), a flat contained pre-NFP positioning tape (09-03, ISM on the Window A leg), and a contained two-tier hot-NFP session (09-04) that — despite the ~3× print surprise — resolved sub-ATR and directionally split (Dow weakest at −0.51%, QQQ carried +0.20% positive), because the surprise was partially pre-priced and it was a pre-holiday Friday. None of these four characters was a clean trending continuation, which is precisely why MNEME never produced a decisive vote and why the desk correctly forecast no-trade on the three live days.
  • Invalidations: no absolute invalidation triggered for either member on the three live days (no >1% gaps; VIX stayed LOW all week, never >18). MNEME's operative stand-down logic (two-sided tape, data-cross-current on Window A from ISM on 09-03) was honored by the vote gate itself refusing to fire. TRACE's block on 09-01/02/03 was pure data availability; 09-04 was the pre-registered event skip.
  • Forward risk (next sessions): Labor Day Mon Sep 7 closed — next session Tue Sep 8. CPI Sep 11 (8:30 ET) is now the decisive read-ahead into the Sep 15–16 FOMC; a hot CPI lands on top of today's firm-labor print (the double). Standing watch: the weekend-gap risk from the live US–Iran / Hormuz escalation and oil at ~six-week highs into the 3-day weekend.

Per-Member Binding Gate Analysis

MNEME — binding gate: the vote threshold (≥62%) on full data. REGIME / session-character, not calibration — healthy similarity all week, votes clustered just-under-or-well-under the bar; the setup never came close on the live days.

MNEME was data-unblocked on every live session this week — 09-01/02/03 all delivered complete three-window reads. The binding gate was the vote threshold (≥62%), and no window ever produced a decisive continuation vote. The near-miss reading is the load-bearing question and it resolves REGIME, not calibration:

  • Similarity was healthy throughout — Window A sim 0.771 → 0.858 → 0.924 across 09-01/02/03, all comfortably above the 0.50 floor. The KNN consistently found strongly-similar history.
  • The votes clustered under the bar: A ran 60% → 60% → 53%; B and C were decisively sub-bar (B 53/33/53, C 60/47/47). The two consecutive A-votes of exactly 60% (09-01, 09-02) are the period's only near-miss — 2pp below the 62% bar on consecutive days — but they did not persist (A fell to 53% on 09-03), and they occurred on exactly the two-sided-geopolitical days the plan pre-registered as structurally starved for a clean continuation.
  • Why this is regime, not calibration: the 60% clustering is the family-documented phenomenon (TEMPER 07-21, both Family 5 backtests) that the 62% vote gate sits at the natural resolution point of the binomial KNN vote distribution — a 6-of-10 or 9-of-15 sub-decisive vote is where non-trending days land, a genuine market read rather than a threshold that is "too tight." No window resolved decisively on any of the three live days, and MNEME's own mechanism design says a long-only KNN on a two-sided/contained LOW-VIX tape has no clean continuation to find. A 2pp, non-persisting A-vote graze on wrong-character days is not the "repeated close miss against one threshold on otherwise-qualifying days" that would justify a calibration conversation.
  • No action: SPRT stayed CONSISTENT-WITH-BACKTEST (LLR +4.063, +$1,041.36, 22 trades, 50.0% WR) all week — static, no trade. The plan's no-trade forecasts were the honest, correct read. No unilateral tweak to locked v5 gates. The NFP-day hard skip on 09-04 is a rule, not a read.
TRACE — binding gate: data availability (observability). OPERATIONAL, not calibration — B/C data path persists blank (08-28 → 09-03), A returned once sub-bar on 09-03; no calibration question can be posed.

TRACE's binding gate all period was data availability — and it is the period's dominant, desk-highest-priority open item. 09-01 and 09-02 were all-window blanks (A:no_data B:no_data C:no_data) — the fourth and fifth consecutive all-blank sessions counting back from 08-28. On 09-03 Window A delivered (showing the data path is intermittent, not one-way dead) but returned a decisively sub-bar 30% vote (sim 0.813, above the 0.60 floor but no decisive continuation), with B and C still no_data. Then 09-04 was the NFP hard skip. The pattern is unresolved and persistent: B/C afternoon bars have not been reaching the engine since ~08-24 (A-only on 08-24 → C-only 08-27 → all-blank 08-28/08-31/09-01/09-02 → A-only 09-03). This is the data-infra/runner-logging diagnosis — an operational hand-off to ASSAY, the desk's highest-priority open item across the whole week, not a calibration signal. The KNN gates (K=10, max_sim ≥0.60, vote ≥62%) are not implicated — on the one A-window that delivered (09-03) the vote was 30%, far below the bar, so even full data would not have fired that day, but that is one sub-bar A-read, not evidence of gate misbehavior. SPRT stays CONTINUE (LLR −1.703, −1.241 from DEGRADED −2.944); the DEGRADED clock cannot advance on a no-trade week and is deferred, not reduced. No unilateral tweak to locked v2 gates. Flag for learnings.md: TRACE's B/C observability failure is unresolved and persistent through 09-03 (all-window blanks on 08-28/08-31/09-01/09-02; A-only on 09-03 with B/C still blank) — the data-infra/runner-logging operational hand-off to ASSAY stands as the desk's top open item, now spanning two full weeks.

Narrative finding — a four-session zero-trade week cleanly sustains the desk's two standing threads. Across a full no-trade week (two-sided geopolitical → flat pre-NFP → NFP hard skip), MNEME was data-unblocked on all three live days and declined on the vote gate (healthy similarity, sub-bar votes — regime/session-character, the family-documented 60%-cluster), while TRACE was again data-blind on DIA's afternoon legs (B/C persistent blank; A only intermittent, sub-bar when present — operational). One stack's week of $0s is a sequence of honest market reads; the other's is a sequence of data starvation. No same-day co-fire, so the pool gains no clustered observations. The desk plan's reads across all four sessions — no-trade-expected-but-not-immune on the geopolitical/pre-NFP days, NO-GO hard skip on NFP — were correct and honored by both stacks.

Open TEMPER Items (Carried Forward)

  • MNEME — Window B two-tier laggard-leg failure mode (session-character watch, N=2). Unadvanced this period (MNEME did not fire; no Window B trade, no new data point toward N=3). Watch continues; Window A preference reaffirmed on two-tier days.
  • MNEME — Window C rolling-15-trade PF < 1.2 suspension monitor. Standing. No Window C trade this period. Watch remains open.
  • MNEME — SPRT. CONSISTENT-WITH-BACKTEST, sticky since trade #14 (LLR +4.063, +1.119 above the +2.944 bound). A no-trade week changes nothing; no action. MNEME's v5 30-day deliverable (event-day blackout reads as foregone opportunity on SPY, PF 3.28 on-blackout vs 3.07 general) — TEMPER has made no call; the 09-04 NFP skip added one learning observation to that open question, no action.
  • TRACE — data-infra/runner-logging observability (operational). RE-CONFIRMED as the highest-priority open item, now unresolved for two full weeks. Pattern since the 08-27 C-only fire: 08-28 all-blank → 08-31 all-blank → 09-01 all-blank → 09-02 all-blank → 09-03 A-only (sub-bar vote 30%, B/C still blank). B/C afternoon bars are not reaching the engine; A is intermittent. Flagged for learnings.md as an operational hand-off to ASSAY, not calibration.
  • TRACE — DEGRADED-clock hazard (LIVE but frozen). No qualifying trade all week, so the clock cannot advance — LLR holds at −1.703, −1.241 from DEGRADED (−2.944). The pre-registered desk-PM-review-at-DEGRADED → TEMPER-conversation path remains in play and re-arms on the next qualifying DIA fire; deferred, not reduced, by the no-trade week.
  • TRACE — reconfirmation ledger items (SPY Calmar, random-entry control, event-day breakdown, VIX regime breakdown, KNN contamination diagnostic). Standing obligations from WS2c; not advanced this period — the observability failure remains the binding constraint on live accumulation.

Desk Summary for Orchestrator

House Mneme's week (09-01 → 09-04, Friday cadence) was a four-session zero-trade week — 0 trades, $0.00 — three on the desk's live no-trade side and 09-04 a pre-registered NFP Tier-1 hard skip, and the desk's structural reads held all four sessions. MNEME (SPY, no trade): full data on all three live days with healthy Window-A similarity (sim 0.771→0.858→0.924) but no window ever produced a decisive vote (A ran 60%→60%→53%, B/C sub-bar throughout) — REGIME/session-character, not calibration: the two consecutive 60% A-votes are the family-documented natural-resolution-point clustering (TEMPER 07-21), not a threshold graze, and they fell to 53% on 09-03; SPRT CONSISTENT-WITH-BACKTEST (LLR +4.063, +$1,041.36, 22 trades, 50.0% WR). TRACE (DIA, no trade): the period's dominant finding — B/C data observability persists unresolved for a second full week (all-window blanks 09-01/09-02, A-only sub-bar 09-03 with B/C still blank) — OPERATIONAL hand-off to ASSAY, the desk's highest-priority open item, not calibration; SPRT CONTINUE (LLR −1.703, −1.241 from DEGRADED, −$349.21, 8 trades). Clean calibration throughout (all eight plan forecasts no-trade-leaning or zero, none traded); the 09-04 NFP hard skip (+162K hot print, contained two-tier) is the pre-registered rule working. Learnings flag: TRACE's B/C observability failure is persistent through 09-03 (08-28→09-02 all-blank, 09-03 A-only) — the runner-logging/data-infra ASSAY hand-off stands as the desk's top operational item, not a calibration question. No unilateral gate tweaks. Next session Tue Sep 8 (Labor Day Mon Sep 7 closed); next Tier-1 CPI Sep 11; FOMC Sep 15–16.

Reflection Filed

  • Filed: 2026-09-04 (EOD reflection, desk cadence — Friday weekly trigger)
  • Next session event risk (from EOD briefing): Tue Sep 8 after Labor Day (Mon Sep 7 closed); next Tier-1 is CPI Sep 11 (8:30 ET) — the decisive read-ahead into the Sep 15–16 FOMC, landing on top of today's firm-labor print (the double). Standing watch: weekend-gap risk from the live US–Iran / Hormuz escalation and oil at ~six-week highs into the 3-day weekend.
  • GHOST: frozen (Phase 2, Decision D2) — no reflection written.
  • MNEME and TRACE per-member reflections filed.
  • Flags embedded for learnings.md (desk-blind, own members): TRACE — the B/C observability failure is unresolved and persistent through 09-03, spanning two full weeks: all-window blanks on 08-28/08-31/09-01/09-02, then A-only on 09-03 (sub-bar 30% vote) with B/C still no_data — A is intermittent, B/C afternoon bars have not reached the engine since ~08-24; the data-infra/runner-logging operational hand-off to ASSAY stands as the desk's highest-priority open item, not a calibration question; SPRT CONTINUE, LLR −1.703, −1.241 from DEGRADED (clock deferred, not reduced, by the no-trade week). MNEME — no new flag: full-data sub-bar-vote week on two-sided-geopolitical/contained tapes is clean REGIME behavior (the two consecutive 60% A-votes are the family-documented natural-resolution clustering, not a threshold graze; the two-tier Window B whipsaw watch, N=2, carries forward unadvanced).
