Desk Plan — House Vesper — 2026-09-03

Briefing reference: /Users/dadbot/Desktop/ClaudeBod/projects/dadbrain/Analysis/briefings/2026-09-03-pm.md PM: VESPER — the evening star, the first light after the close.

Shared Market Read

  • Event risk today: MEDIUM — the easing but unresolved US–Iran / Strait-of-Hormuz escalation remains the standing driver (Trump framing the strikes "short-lived," WTI snapping a 3-day rally, crude flows ~8M bbl/day through the strait — supply not severed, so the oil bid is stalling rather than accelerating). Today's own macro is ISM Services (10:00 ET, MEDIUM) + Initial Jobless Claims (8:30, LOW–MEDIUM) — no Tier-1 today. NFP is TOMORROW (Fri Sep 4, 8:30 ET), cons ~+58K vs prior −23K — the week's pivot — followed by the Labor Day long weekend (Mon Sep 7 closed). Then CPI Sep 11, FOMC Sep 16.
  • Session character expected: Contained / ranging, direction unknown, pre-NFP positioning — a sub-ATR-style, LOW-VIX consolidation day on top of a live-but-easing geopolitical clock. Pre-market futures roughly flat; oil and yields edging lower. Direction-refusal discipline applies (carried verbatim, 8-for-8 from the 09-02 EOD STUCK grade): on a LOW-VIX, live-geopolitical-clock, pre-NFP session, do not pre-assign an index direction — treat flat-to-firm as a conditional, not a base.
  • VIX regime: 15.40 — LOW (<18), up a hair (+0.20 from 15.20). Benign for the overnight carry. Logged, never gating — no VIX filter by design (considered and rejected in Phase 2).
  • Key levels: SPY prior close 765.13, prior-day range 761.74–766.43, sitting below the 20-day SMA 768.93, ATR(14) 5.09 — both SPY and QQQ below their 20-day SMAs in the multi-session pullback from the mid-August record. VESPER's only levels are its own anchors: 765.12 — cycle 36's entry (Wed 09-02 16:00 auction-inclusive SIP close, the Wednesday-night hold currently open, exiting 09:31 this morning) — and tonight's 16:00 auction print (cycle 37's entry, the Thursday-night hold Thu 16:00 → Fri 09-04 09:31). The exit is temporal, not price-based.
  • Macro backdrop: A LOW-VIX tape consolidating under the SMAs into tomorrow's NFP, with a de-escalating oil/Hormuz headline and Williams-tempered September-hike odds. The NFP-eve close level shapes the 16:00 auction VESPER receives, never a decision VESPER makes. The named forward tail is tonight's own NFP-carrying hold (cycle 37) — held unconditionally, watched, not gated.

vesper — SPY (PM: VESPER)

Forecast: p_trade 1.0, direction long, conviction high.

Setup present: Yes — by design, always. There is no setup to wait for. Cycle 36 (Wed 09-02 16:00 entry 765.12 → Thu 09-03 09:31 — the Wednesday-night hold, open in the ledger at 765.12 / ~$22,873 notional / 29.9 shares / 90.0% of $25,415 equity) exits at the 09:31 bar open this morning. At 15:50 tonight VESPER enters cycle 37 at the 16:00 close, the Thursday-night hold running into Friday 09-04 09:31. Both legs answered unconditionally.

Cycle 36's exit is the deferred two-sided call the 09-02 plan pre-registered. Cycle 36 carried an overnight on a de-escalating oil tape (Trump "short-lived," WTI easing, futures roughly flat pre-open). The exit is temporal, not coverage of a directional bet: cycle 36's 09:31 print is whatever the flat overnight produced — neither branch is a finding, and I do not count it before the print. Both branches are squarely inside the validated 2018–2024 sample (which contains the −26.5% COVID drawdown by construction). Descriptive, never actionable.

The NFP question — tonight's entry (cycle 37) IS an NFP-carrying hold, and the answer is unchanged. This is the load-bearing call for today, and I will be direct about it. NFP prints at 8:30 ET TOMORROW morning — inside cycle 37's hold window (Thu 09-03 16:00 → Fri 09-04 09:31), before the 09:31 exit. So tonight's position is genuinely exposed to the Tier-1 print: the 09:31 exit on Friday prices whatever gap the NFP reaction produces. This does NOT change VESPER's posture or size. Three reasons, in order of weight:

  1. Rule 5 is explicit and pre-registered: no event-calendar skip — FOMC/CPI/NFP nights are held. There is no VIX filter, no event filter, no skip — considered and rejected in the Phase 2 diagnostics (never traded). An NFP-eve entry is not an edge case; it is the ordinary case the unconditional baseline was built on.
  2. The cleared mechanism already contains every NFP cycle in 2018–2024. The unconditional hold IS the validated strategy; the ~1759-cycle backtest that cleared GO holds through every macro print, including the −26.5% COVID tail. Any conditioning — a skip, or a size cut on NFP-eve — must first beat the unconditional baseline in a Phase 2+ Bench study. None has earned that yet. A unilateral size cut tonight would be an unvalidated deviation from the cleared operating contract, not a risk refinement.
  3. The risk is the premium. The overnight leg exists because the night is when the risk lives — macro prints, gap risk, earnings, no stops. Sizing down on a high-expected-move macro night would reduce the mean capture proportionally on the very class of session the premium is priced to harvest, without evidence that NFP-eve nights underperform the unconditional mean.

So: cycle 37 enters tonight at the standard 90% of equity notional (recomputed at order time from post-exit equity), fractional shares, no leverage, no skip, no event-conditioned sizing. The NFP gap risk is inside the accepted envelope: a −5% overnight gap (COVID-limit-down territory) costs −4.5% of equity in one night and is survivable by construction at 0.9 notional, no leverage; the backtest's in-sample worst is COVID's −26.5% on equity, and no single night approaches that. A Friday gap against the position, however wide, is taken and logged — it is a single observation, not a kill signal.

Session-character fit: Perfect by construction — the stack is never in the market while it is open. The contained, ranging, pre-NFP intraday tape is irrelevant; VESPER is flat by 09:31. The relevant character is overnight: VIX LOW at 15.40, and tomorrow's NFP is the single named overnight tail, carried unconditionally.

Monitors check:

  • Mechanism watch: trailing-250 +8.277 bps/day, trailing-500 +4.995 bps/day (as of the cache edge) — both ~12.6×/7.6× above the 0.655 kill threshold. Premium intact. Caveat carried forward (25th filing, still open): the read is cache-edge (through 2024-12-31) because the live SIP extension degrades silently on a missing pydantic_core dependency — the fallback must be loud, and the dependency needs fixing so the next read is as-of-today. An as-of-today mechanism read is exactly the number that would independently confirm the premium is intact heading into an NFP-gap night — and it is unavailable. Already recorded (2026-08-04 VESPER retrospective), unchanged, no new information; not re-filed.
  • Execution-cost SPRT: CONSISTENT-WITH-BACKTEST (n=34 as of the 09-01 reflection, LLR +12.750). Simulation only — fills price at the anchors, shortfall ≡ 0; decision-relevant only against real broker fills. Last realized round-trip ~1.0000 bps — on the ≤ 1.0 bps/day budget, no breach.
  • Edge SPRT: CONTINUE — formal-only; cannot decide at realistic samples (~18.5 years). CONTINUE is not evidence of edge.

Continuity note for the desk record: Cycle 36 completes at 09:31 this morning (the Wednesday-night hold, entered 765.12) and rolls into the cumulative at EOD today. Cycle 35's result was already absorbed at EOD 09-02. The running realized mean (≈ +5.3 net bps/day through the 09-01 reflection, above the 3.151 cleared anchor) is a paper-phase execution-fidelity signal at n≈35 on an ~80 bps daily SD — sampling noise, not edge evidence; the edge is watched on the full market-data series. Plan calibration: 30/30 perfect scored rows since founding (Brier 0.0) once today's row closes; the 08-07 row remains the only gap (morning dispatch hole, not a forecast miss).

Invalidation: None structural. An unconditional strategy has no invalidation condition by design. The kill discipline is the mechanism watch on market data (trailing-250/500 < 0.655 bps/day gross → TEMPER review), checked daily, not resolvable intra-session, and not conditional on any NFP, Iran, or oil outcome. Tonight's entry is an NFP-carrying hold — no skip trigger exists by design (rule 5). If Friday's 09:31 exit gaps against the position on the NFP print, VESPER takes and logs the loss — that is the price of the premium. A 2022-regime drawdown (≈ −11.4% on equity at 0.9 notional) is within tolerance and is not a kill signal; the −26.5% COVID drawdown is inside the validated sample. The only stand-downs are force-majeure (closing auction failure, account/regulatory constraint, exchange halt) — none indicated today (firm-wide GO in force; standard Thursday session, no holiday).

What I am watching: (1) Cycle 36's 09:31 exit print vs entry 765.12 — the flat-overnight payoff; two-sided, no pre-assigned direction, neither branch a finding. (2) Tonight's 16:00 auction print for cycle 37 — the Thursday-night NFP-carrying hold into Fri 09-04 09:31, entered at standard 90% size, unconditionally. NFP (Fri 8:30) is inside this hold window — the 09:31 exit prices the full reaction. No skip, no sizing-down; rule 5; the risk is the premium. (3) The mechanism watch stays green (trailing-250 +8.277 / −500 +4.995 vs 0.655) — the only number that can ever stop me — and the live-SIP dependency fix gets done so the next read is as-of-today (25th filing). After 09:31, flat and idle until 15:50 — doing exactly nothing, which is the discipline.

Plan Filed

  • Filed: 2026-09-03 04:32 PDT
  • Frontmatter forecasts complete for every active member: yes (vesper: p_trade 1.0, direction long, conviction high)
  • Mechanism watch confirms premium intact: yes (trailing-250 +8.277, trailing-500 +4.995 — both > 0.655 kill threshold; cache-edge caveat carried forward, 25th filing, still open)
  • Cost budget confirmed: realized-cost check last cycle ~1.0000 bps round-trip, on the ≤ 1.0 bps/day budget
  • Event risk today: MEDIUM (ISM Services 10:00 + Jobless Claims 8:30 — no Tier-1 today; NFP tomorrow Sep 4 8:30 ET is the standing forward risk). Firm-wide GO in force.
  • Cycle 36 (Wed 09-02 16:00 entry 765.12 → Thu 09-03 09:31 — the Wednesday-night hold) exits 09:31 ET this morning. A real trade booked today, held unconditionally (rule 5).
  • Cycle 37 enters at tonight's 16:00 close, held unconditionally into Fri 09-04 09:31, at standard 90% size — this IS the NFP-carrying hold (NFP prints 8:30 Fri, inside the window, before the 09:31 exit). No skip, no sizing-down — rule 5, and no conditioning has beaten the unconditional baseline in a Bench study. The risk is the premium.
  • Forward flag (named, not forecast): cycle 38 (Fri 09-04 16:00 → Tue 09-08 09:31) is the Labor Day long-weekend hold across Mon Sep 7 — held unconditionally under rule 5 when it arrives, not tonight's entry.

House Vesper — Desk Reflection — 2026-09-03

Plan reference: desks/house-vesper/plans/2026-09-03-plan.md (and, for the two-session window, 2026-09-02-plan.md) EOD briefing: dadbrain/Analysis/briefings/2026-09-03-eod.md PM: VESPER — the evening star, the first light after the close.

What Happened (desk level)

One desk, one member, one unconditional overnight stack. This reflection covers a two-session window since the last filed reflection (09-01) — both 09-02 and 09-03 are in scope, and both were WINS. No 09-02 reflection was on file when this run dispatched (plans exist for 09-01/02/03, reflections only through 09-01) — an unconditional stack's cycle completed regardless, and I am filing both sessions' observations here rather than letting the record-keeping gap orphan cycle 35's result (a record-keeping finding, not a trading one — see Learnings).

Cycle 35 (the Tuesday-night hold, Tue 09-01 16:00 entry 761.47 → Wed 09-02 09:31) completed 09-02 as a WIN — the first positive realization after the two-loss streak: SPY bought at Tuesday's 16:00 auction-inclusive anchor (30.0218 shares, $22,860.70 notional, 90.0% of equity) → sold at Wednesday's 09:31 bar open — 762.02 — +$16.51 gross / +$14.23 net (+7.2229 gross / +6.2229 net bps), commission $2.29 ≈ 1.0000 bps — on the ≤ 1.0 bps/day budget, no breach, roundtrip_shortfall ≡ 0. This was the flat-overnight resolution the 09-01 plan pre-registered as the Tuesday-night hold (no Tier-1 inside the Tue→Wed window; the geopolitical clock easing). Modest, but it broke the two-loss run (33 −25.83 / 34 −78.41).

Cycle 36 (the Wednesday-night hold, Wed 09-02 16:00 entry 765.12 → Thu 09-03 09:31) completed THIS MORNING as a WIN — a strong one: SPY bought at Wednesday's 16:00 anchor (29.8953 shares, $22,873.51 notional, 90.0% of equity) → sold at this morning's 09:31 bar open — 768.42 — +$98.65 gross / +$96.37 net (+43.1305 gross / +42.1305 net bps), commission $2.29 ≈ 1.0000 bps — on budget, no breach. The overnight carry on a de-escalating oil tape (Trump "short-lived," WTI easing, futures roughly flat pre-open) resolved up at the open — the plan had pre-written both branches of cycle 36 and the upside one printed. The market then extended intraday to a clean trending-up close (SPY 773.12, +1.04%, 1.62× ATR; VIX 14.32 LOW) — that daytime leg is not mine to capture (flat by 09:31 by design); my edge is the 09:31 open, which paid +42 net bps.

The back-to-back downside streak resolved exactly as the ledger's two-sidedness said it would. The magnitude arc now reads: cycle 28 −24.64 / 29 +36.33 / 30 −12.75 / 31 +31.50 / 32 +8.99 / 33 −25.83 / 34 −78.41 / 35 +6.22 / 36 +42.13 — the two-loss run (cycles 33/34, both a named geopolitical risk-off carry paying its downside) followed immediately by two wins, the second the strongest single-night upside since 07-29/07-30 (+82.08). Descriptive, never actionable — each is a single realization of the overnight drift inside the validated 2018–2024 sample, and the run was sampling noise on an ~80 bps daily SD, exactly as the 09-01 reflection said and the 09-02 win now corroborates. The mechanism watch — the only number that can ever stop me — reads green (on the cache); this is the premium paying its two sides in turn, not evidence of either decay or discovery.

Cycle 37 opened at tonight's close — the Thursday-night NFP-carrying hold (Thu 09-03 16:00 → Fri 09-04 09:31): MOC entry 772.62 at the 16:00 auction-inclusive anchor, $22,960.24 notional (~29.72 shares), 90.0% of equity (25511.38), held unconditionally at standard size, no event-conditioned sizing (rule 5). This is the load-bearing call of today's plan, and I will state it plainly: NFP prints at 8:30 ET TOMORROW morning — inside cycle 37's hold window, before the 09:31 exit — and VESPER holds it at standard 90% size regardless. Rule 5 is explicit and pre-registered (no event-calendar skip — FOMC/CPI/NFP nights are held; considered and rejected in the Phase 2 diagnostics); the cleared mechanism already contains every NFP cycle in 2018–2024 (including the −26.5% COVID tail); and the risk is the premium — sizing down on a high-expected-move macro night would cut the mean capture on the very class of session the premium is priced to harvest, without a Bench study that first beats the unconditional baseline (none has). Tonight's entry at 772.62 sits near the session's highs after a strong risk-on day; the level is received, the decision not made.

Session context (desk-level, for the record): event risk MEDIUM held (no Tier-1 today — ISM Services 55.4 beat at 10:00 and Jobless Claims 206K in line, secondary to the risk-on), VIX 14.32 LOW (−0.88), session resolved clean trending-up — SPY +1.04% / QQQ +1.18% grinding to near-session highs on a dovish-Waller rates leg (the EOD narrative graded the AM's driver/session-character base PARTIAL — it anchored on oil-easing and containment, and the real fuel was a Fed rate signal on a 1.62×-ATR trending tape). Irrelevant to this desk's mechanics by construction (flat by 09:31); it only shaped the level of tonight's 16:00 entry (772.62). What mattered to me: cycle 36's overnight carry resolved up +42.13 net bps at the open, and cycle 37 now carries the week's real pivot — NFP — overnight, unconditionally.

The Load-Bearing Question: What Was the Binding Gate This Period?

Regime, not calibration — no gate of this desk was grazed, and the two-session window was a clean two-sided demonstration that the overnight carry pays both its sides. For an unconditional stack there is no setup gate to bind and no threshold to graze — the blocked= near-miss notes are empty by construction, always. The period's genuine content is the resolution of the two-loss streak into back-to-back wins (cycle 35 +6.22 / cycle 36 +42.13 net bps) after the geopolitical risk-off downside of cycles 33/34. Is two wins in a row evidence of anything? No — and the honesty label cuts both ways, now on the win side. The overnight SD is ~80 bps; cycle 36's +42.13 bps is a ~0.5σ night, cycle 35's +6.22 barely a blip. Two losses followed by two wins on an ~80 bps daily coin-flip is exactly the sampling noise a return-based benchmark (net bps/day, never win rate) is built to absorb without overreacting in either direction. No TEMPER conversation on any gate is warranted, no tweak, no celebration — the run of positives is no more a signal than the run of negatives was. The gates that can bind all read green:

  • Execution-cost Gaussian SPRT (decision-capable): CONSISTENT-WITH-BACKTEST, n=36, LLR +13.500 (−10.556 to CONSISTENT / −16.444 to DEGRADED). Simulation only — fills price at the anchors, shortfall ≡ 0; decision-relevant only against real broker fills. Last two realized round-trips both ~1.0000 bps — on the ≤ 1.0 bps/day budget, no breach, on wins as on the loss nights; cost discipline held to the basis point.
  • Edge Gaussian SPRT (formal-only): CONTINUE, n=36, LLR +0.069. Cannot decide at realistic samples (~18.5 yr); CONTINUE is not evidence of edge — and that honesty label cuts both ways on a +42 bps night (a win is not evidence of edge any more than a loss was evidence of decay).
  • Mechanism watch (the only kill-capable gate): green on the cache — trailing-250 +8.277 / trailing-500 +4.995 bps/day vs the 0.655 floor, ~12.6×/7.6× above — no confirmed DEGRADED flag. Caveat carried forward (24th filing, still open, unchanged — not re-filed): the read is cache-edge (through 2024-12-31) because the live SIP extension still silently falls back on the missing pydantic_core dependency. Heading into an NFP-gap night, an as-of-today mechanism read would be the decision-relevant number that independently confirms the premium is intact — and it remains unavailable. Already recorded (2026-08-04 VESPER retrospective), no new information this period; the dependency fix / loud-fallback correction stands as the standing recommendation, raised in urgency by tonight's NFP-carrying hold, not by any new finding.

Continuity for the desk record: 36 completed cycles, net +$511.38 cumulative (gross +$593.18, commissions $81.80), ≈ +228.52 net bps (gross +264.52), mean ≈ +6.35 net bps/day realized vs the 3.151 cleared anchor — back above where the two-loss streak had pulled it (≈+5.30 after 09-01) on the strength of cycle 36's +42.13; at n=36 on an ~80 bps daily SD this is sampling noise, and the edge SPRT's honesty label cuts both ways. Win rate 63.9% (23/36) — not the benchmark; net bps/day is. Plan calibration: perfect since founding (Brier 0.0 on every scored row; the 09-03 row — p_trade 1.0 / long / high — scored perfect on today's real long exit, traded=1, direction long→long hit). The 08-07 dispatch hole and the 09-02 reflection gap are the only gaps in the otherwise-continuous scored/reflection record (record-keeping, not forecast or trading misses).

Operational note (record-keeping, positive-adjacent): no runner-starvation backfill this period (the 08-10 / 08-14 / 08-18 / 08-21 operational items did not recur), and the shared EOD desk-summary's monitor reads matched my stack's files — the shared-vs-stack discrepancy of 08-26/27/28 did not recur. The one genuine new record-keeping gap: no 09-02 reflection file (see Learnings).

Plan Accuracy (desk level)

DimensionRating (1–5)Notes
Event risk call5MEDIUM held exactly across the window — cycle 35 (Tue-night) had no Tier-1 inside it and exited +6.22 net bps into Wednesday; cycle 36 (Wed-night, de-escalating oil tape) exited +42.13 net bps into Thursday; no Tier-1 today missed (ISM 55.4 / Claims 206K the MEDIUM-impact macro, secondary to the risk-on); cycle 37 (Thu-night) IS the NFP-carrying hold — named and carried unconditionally at standard size, no over- or under-statement
Session character call5Irrelevant to my mechanics by construction (flat by 09:31) — but honest: the 09-03 AM's contained/pre-NFP base was itself under-called by the tape (clean trending-up, 1.62× ATR, on a Waller rates leg) — noted for the record; my only relevant character is overnight, which resolved up
Setup prediction5Unconditional — the only forecast is exit/entry placement: cycle 35 exited 09-02 at +6.22 net bps, cycle 36 exited today at +42.13 net bps (the up side of the pre-registered two-sided call — logged, not a finding), cycle 37 entered 772.62, the deferred NFP-hold call made at standard size without sizing-down
Adjustments5None made — 90% notional, 16:00 anchor, 09:31 exit, all standard, no event-conditioned sizing through the NFP-eve hold (rule 5; validation forbids conditioning without a study that first beats the baseline); cost realized at ~1.0000 bps = the budget on the wins, to the basis point, no breach

Overall plan accuracy: 5 / 5. Machine-scored: the 09-03 plan forecast p_trade 1.0 / long / high; cycle 36's exit booked today is a real long trade, direction long hit — Brier 0.0, extending the perfect scored run since founding. The plans' structural point was exactly right and is the whole story: both cycle 35 and cycle 36 were held unconditionally at standard size through the pre-registered two-sided calls, the 09-02 plan deferred cycle 36's exit without a directional bet, and the 09-03 plan made the load-bearing call — cycle 37 carries tomorrow's NFP at standard 90% size, no skip, no sizing-down (rule 5) — and I held to it at the 16:00 close tonight.

Learnings (desk level)

  • The overnight carry paid its upside two sessions running — the mirror image of the two-loss streak, logged, not celebrated: cycle 35 (Tue-night, entry 761.47) exited 09-02 at +7.2229 gross / +6.2229 net bps (+$16.51 / +$14.23) and cycle 36 (Wed-night, entry 765.12) exited today at +43.1305 gross / +42.1305 net bps (+$98.65 / +$96.37) — back-to-back wins resolving the cycles-33/34 two-loss streak (33 −25.83, 34 −78.41). The instructive structural detail is not the wins but that neither was a directional discovery: cycle 36 was the up branch of a two-sided call today's plan pre-registered (the carry on a de-escalating oil tape; "neither branch a finding"), taken on the level at standard size, cost ~1.0000 bps. The overnight premium is two-sided by nature; a +42.13 bps night on ~80 bps daily SD is a ~0.5σ realization, squarely inside the validated sample, and is not a finding, not evidence toward edge — it is the price of the premium paying the other side. The two-win streak at this SD is sampling noise, the coin answering the coin; the edge SPRT's honesty label cuts both ways on a win night. The only number that can ever stop me — the mechanism watch — reads green (on cache, trailing-250 +8.277 / trailing-500 +4.995 vs 0.655).
  • The magnitude arc is now a completed two-sided cycle, not a run — 23rd/24th data points: cycle 28 −24.64 / 29 +36.33 / 30 −12.75 / 31 +31.50 / 32 +8.99 / 33 −25.83 / 34 −78.41 / 35 +6.22 / 36 +42.13 — the two-loss run followed by a small win and a large upside win. My magnitude modeling of my own exits holds in both directions across the full arc; a run of positives on an ~80 bps/day coin-flip is as expected as a run of negatives and as non-alarming. Cumulative mean ≈ +6.35 net bps/day over 36 cycles (net +$511.38, ≈+228.52 net bps), still above the 3.151 anchor; WR 63.9% — not the benchmark. No calibration fix warranted for an unconditional stack.
  • Cycle 37's carry — the Thursday-night NFP-hold, held unconditionally at standard size (logged, not a finding): entered 772.62 at tonight's 16:00 anchor, $22,960.24 notional, 90.0% of equity, held into Fri 09-04 09:31. NFP (8:30 ET Fri) sits INSIDE the Thu→Fri hold window, before the 09:31 exit — this is the load-bearing NFP-carrying hold, and the answer is unchanged from the plan: no skip, no sizing-down (rule 5) — rule 5 is explicit and pre-registered, the cleared mechanism contains every NFP cycle in 2018–2024 by construction, and the NFP gap risk is the premium. A Friday gap against the position, however wide, is taken and logged as the price of the premium, a single observation, not a kill signal. After that, the next live pivot is the Labor Day long-weekend hold (cycle 38, Fri 09-04 16:00 → Tue 09-08 09:31 across the Mon Sep 7 closure) — held unconditionally under rule 5 when it arrives.
  • Mechanism-watch tooling gap — cache-edge, unchanged, NOT re-filed: the mechanism watch's read is still cache-edge (through 2024-12-31) on the missing pydantic_core dependency (24th filing; already recorded 2026-08-04, unchanged — the shared EOD desk-summary carried no "below threshold / pending TEMPER review" line and its monitor reads matched my files). No new information this period; the dependency fix / loud-fallback correction is the standing recommendation, unchanged in substance and raised in urgency by an NFP-carrying hold where an as-of-today mechanism read would be the decision-relevant number.
  • Flag for learnings.md: the 09-02 EOD reflection was not filed (desk or member) — plans exist for 09-01/02/03 but reflections run 09-01 → (gap) → this 09-03 filing, so this run covered a two-session window. For an unconditional stack the trade happened regardless (cycle 35 completed +6.22 net bps 09-02, cycle 36 +42.13 net bps 09-03), so this is a record-keeping / cadence gap, not a trading gap — same class as the 08-07 forecast-dispatch hole (a record with holes is a record the consumer must treat as gapped), distinct from it in being the reflection step rather than the plan step. Worth a reflection-dispatch completeness check in the EOD pipeline (every desk filed or explicitly skipped, every session).

Desk Summary (orchestrator-facing)

  • VESPER (SPY, unconditional overnight): window since 09-01 was all-upside — cycle 35 (Tue-night, entry 761.47) exited 09-02 at +6.22 net bps, cycle 36 (Wed-night, entry 765.12) exited today at +42.13 net bps (+$96.37), cost ~1.0 bps each — the two-loss streak (33/34) resolving into back-to-back wins, the pre-registered two-sided coin answering its coin, not a directional discovery. Cycle 37 entered 772.62 at standard 90% size tonight — the Thursday-night NFP-carrying hold into Fri 09-04 09:31, no skip, no sizing-down (rule 5). Monitors green (execution-cost CONSISTENT n=36 LLR +13.500; edge CONTINUE; mechanism watch green on cache). Cumulative +$511.38 net / ≈+228.52 net bps over 36 cycles, mean ≈+6.35 net bps/day vs the 3.151 anchor. Binding gate this period: none — regime, not calibration; two wins are no more a signal than the two losses were; no threshold grazed → no tweak, no TEMPER conversation on any gate. Plan calibration perfect (Brier 0.0), extending since founding.
  • Watching: (1) cycle 37's Fri 09-04 09:31 exit of the Thursday-night NFP-carrying hold — NFP (8:30 Fri) prints inside the window and the 09:31 exit prices the full reaction; held unconditionally at standard size; a gap against the position, however wide, is the price of the premium, logged not acted on. (2) Then the Labor Day long-weekend hold (cycle 38, Fri → Tue across Mon Sep 7 closed). (3) mechanism-watch live SIP dependency fix — now decision-relevant with the NFP hold (24th filing, unchanged). (4) cost stays at the 1.0 bps budget. (5) reflection-cadence check for the 09-02 gap (record-keeping, not trading).

Reflection Filed

  • Filed: 2026-09-03 (EOD reflection run)
  • Desk-blind rule observed: no other desk's directory read or referenced
  • Next-session event risk (from EOD briefing): Tier-1 NFP inside cycle 37's Thu→Fri hold window — NFP prints 8:30 AM ET tomorrow (Sep 4), before the 09:31 exit — carried unconditionally at standard 90% size (rule 5), no skip, no sizing-down; then the Labor Day long weekend (Mon Sep 7 closed), CPI Sep 11, FOMC Sep 16. Cycle 37 (Thu 09-03 16:00 entry 772.62 → Fri 09-04 09:31) is the Thursday-night NFP-carrying hold — held unconditionally at standard size (rule 5), the NFP gap risk is the premium; exits at Friday's 09:31 open. The level I receive, the decision I do not make; today's lesson stands — the overnight premium pays either side of its two-sided drift, and the upside branch that printed today I took on the level, which is the discipline, no more and no less than when the downside branch printed on 09-01.
