Shared Market Read
- Event risk today: LOW — and crucially this is NOT a skip day for either KNN stack. No Tier-1 in the next 7 days. The only scheduled macro is routine weekly jobless claims (8:30 AM ET, ~208K, low-impact). NVDA reported after the close on 08-26 — today is the earnings aftermath / read-through session, not the report day, so the mega-cap earnings hard-skip (
is_event_day(tier_filter=2)) does not fire. Firm-wide status per the watchlist: GO. The live forward risk is Friday's Warsh keynote (Jackson Hole, 10:00 AM ET) — expect some pre-positioning caution / possible dry-up into it; do not over-commit a one-day direction into that pivot. - Session character expected: tech-led gap-up open with a trending/extension bias AND explicit gap-fade risk. NVDA's beat-and-raise (+$96B rev, +106% YoY; Q3 guide ~$108B) refueled the AI trade overnight; futures point to Nasdaq-100 +1%, S&P +0.5%, Dow +0.2%, NVDA +6% pre-market. The briefing's standing whisper-fade read is live — NVDA has fallen the day after its report in six of the last eight quarters. If NVDA holds its gap, the AI complex extends (continuation day); if it fades, expect churn and a two-sided tape that may not structure cleanly. This is a catalyst-assignable direction (corporate, not a policy coin-flip) but two-sided on the marquee name.
- VIX regime: 14.94 — LOW (<18), easing from 15.21. Both stacks' best backtested regime (MNEME VIX<20 PF 2.39; TRACE VIX<20 PF 2.46). Unlike yesterday's skip day, the regime is now a live and favorable input.
- Key levels: SPY prior close 765.94, prior range 763.94–767.32, SMA20 766.58 (SPY marginally below its SMA20), ATR(14) 4.69. QQQ prior 711.28, SMA20 714.61 (below) — the tech-vs-broad split persists. DIA Phase 3 band ~$515–524 (not in the briefing price block — confirm the gap at the open). A gap-up that clears SMA20 766.58 and holds = continuation shape; a gap-fade back below prior close 765.94 = churn, structure may not form until the AI complex finds a level.
- Macro backdrop: Nvidia's beat-and-raise reasserted tech leadership off a contained data-cluster week; elevated yields (~10-yr 4.65%, 30-yr ~5.18%) and a restrictive-Fed read persist into Jackson Hole; oil extending its slide on Hormuz de-escalation. LOW-VIX, near-record, stretched tape — a NVDA hold extends, a NVDA fade churns.
- Desk-wide call — LIVE day, GO, but two-sided. Both Family 5 KNN stacks can trade today (no skip). The direction is more assignable than a policy day (tech-led extension if NVDA holds), but the gap-fade tail is real and tomorrow's Warsh keynote caps how far any gap-up extends. MNEME and TRACE diverge sharply today: MNEME is hot (two-in-a-row decisive-A wins, SPRT CONSISTENT) and reasonably placed for a continuation; TRACE is 26 sessions dry with a structurally sub-bar Dow A-vote base rate and a broken B/C data path — a Dow laggard day gives it little to work with. I keep them separately reasoned, as the pool requires.
MNEME — SPY KNN (p_trade 0.45, long, med)
A live continuation setup is genuinely present today, and it is my best-fit day in two weeks. Yesterday was a forced no-op (Tier-1 PCE skip); today is not — no event day fires, VIX 14.94 is my best regime, and the character is a tech-led gap-up, the closest thing to the contained-recovery/continuation shape my KNN edge is built on. I am on a live two-in-a-row decisive-A winning streak (08-21 vote=73.3%/+$213; 08-24 vote=86.7%/+$150, the most decisive A of the run), SPRT CONSISTENT-WITH-BACKTEST (LLR +4.602), 55% WR over 20 trades, +$1,126. I am not the marginal, cautious 0.38 I kept writing through the cluster — my own 08-24 reflection flagged that my Window A p_trade has been under-stated ~0.1–0.2 since the 60% cluster resolved (2-for-2 low-confidence forecasts traded-and-won). I am applying that honest nudge today: 0.45, long, med conviction.
- Setup present: YES-likely. The decisive-A base rate has clearly risen since the cluster resolved (decisive, profitable fires on consecutive live sessions), and a gap-up continuation open is a favorable library-matching condition. But it is not a lock — gap-fade risk is explicit, and a NVDA fade pulls SPY with it.
- Sizing vs. event risk: standard 0.75% ($187.50), no reduction. Event risk is LOW (no Tier-1 today); the gap-fade tail is a single-name corporate risk, not a macro event, and my windows' hard-flats are my risk control. Window A is the preferred path — it observes 9:30–10:00, enters 10:00, hard-flat 12:00, so it completes before the afternoon and before most pre-Warsh positioning, carrying the least two-sided risk. Window B (anchor, enter 12:00, flat 16:00) is live but carries afternoon execution risk if the NVDA fade unfolds later; Window C stays the flagged, lowest-trust window — I will not add to it.
- Session-character fit: good-to-fair. A tech-led continuation open is my edge's natural habitat; a gap-fade churn day is the failure mode — the shape is set by whether NVDA holds in the first hour, which Window A's observation window will directly measure.
- Key levels: SPY prior close 765.94, prior range 763.94–767.32, SMA20 766.58. A sustained open above SMA20 766.58 (and ideally above prior-range high 767.32) is the continuation precondition; a fade back under 765.94 breaks it. ATR 4.69 frames the 1.5× stop.
- Invalidation / stand-down: If SPY gaps >1% (~7.7 pts) at the open and VIX pushes >18, I sit the AM out entirely. More relevant today: if NVDA's gap fails in the first hour and SPY falls back under prior close 765.94 / SMA20 766.58, that is a fade-and-churn day — I expect Window A to show a sub-decisive vote and I stand down rather than force a continuation. I will not take a Window C afternoon signal on a fading tape. If the engine fails to recognize a live day or misfires, that is a data-path bug to flag, not a trade to take.
- What I'm watching to learn: (1) Whether Window A clears decisively on a live gap-up (the post-cluster decisive-fire base rate in a favorable character — the strongest test of my calibration nudge); (2) whether the NVDA hold-vs-fade in the first hour is faithfully reflected in my A vote vs. SPY's path relative to 765.94/766.58; (3) whether the Window C rolling-15-trade PF monitor stays quiet (it should — I am avoiding C today).
TRACE — DIA KNN (p_trade 0.10, long, low)
No trade expected — this is the honest read, not a manufactured signal. Today is a live (non-skip) day, so the mechanism can fire — but the evidence says it will not find a decisive DIA continuation. I am now twenty-six sessions dry since my last qualifying trade on 07-27; SPRT CONTINUE at LLR −1.350, only −1.595 from DEGRADED; 7 trades W1/L6, −$349, 14.3% WR. Two structural facts dominate today:
- The Dow A-vote base rate is sub-bar even on firm Dow days. The 08-21 and 08-24 reads both produced genuine Window A market reads (sim 0.808/0.779, both above the 0.60 floor) but voted 40% — below the 62% bar — even when the Dow was the session's up-leg. That is the K=10 6-of-10 resolution-point cluster, and it persists on the Dow leg regardless of tape direction.
- Today the Dow is the laggard, not the leader. The driver is NVDA/tech (Nasdaq-100 +1%, S&P +0.5%); Dow futures are up only +0.2%. A tech-led extension day does not produce the kind of decisive DIA continuation fingerprint my library needs — the Dow has no catalyst, and a modest laggard leg is the least favorable condition for the sub-bar A-vote base rate to break decisively.
- B/C observability is still broken (
B:no_data C:no_data again on 08-25). Window A is the only dependable window, and it keeps voting 40%. The DEGRADED-protocol clock still cannot start on a no-trade day.
- Setup present: NO. No decisive DIA continuation is likely on a tech-led day where the Dow is the laggard leg; the A-vote base rate on this leg is sub-bar regardless. This is regime + observability, not a threshold graze — my gates (K=10, max_sim ≥0.60) are locked and correct.
- Sizing vs. event risk: n/a — no size expected. If (unlikely) a decisive A vote forms, standard 0.75% ($187.50) — but the explicit expectation is a no-trade session. Zero exposure is the plan; the dry-streak/SPRT hazard is a probability concern on qualifying days, and today is unlikely to produce a qualifying signal.
- Session-character fit: poor. A tech-led extension day is structurally hostile to a Dow continuation; the gap-fade tail and tomorrow's Warsh positioning add more two-sided noise to a leg my library already finds sub-decisive.
- Key levels: DIA Phase 3 band ~$515–524 (last entry 07-27 at $523.31); not in the briefing price block — confirm the gap at the open for framing only.
- Invalidation / stand-down: Absolute — if DIA gaps >1% at the open and VIX >18, I sit out the AM. Beyond that, today's stand-down is structural: I do not force a continuation on a laggard Dow. Data-path watch: if B/C remain
no_data, that is the carried observability flag (an operational hand-off to ASSAY), not a signal; if the engine produces a decisive A read, I evaluate it on its merits. - What I'm watching to learn: (1) Whether Window A finally breaks the sub-bar 40% base rate or clusters again (today's laggard-Dow day is a clean test — it should cluster); (2) whether B/C data delivery recovers or stays broken (the desk's highest-priority open item); (3) nothing about the dry streak can be concluded today — a no-signal on an unfavorable character is evidence of regime, not of a gate being too tight.
Pooled note (Family 5)
Today is a live, GO day — the first in a week with neither a Tier-1 skip nor a stale read. Both KNN stacks are unskipped and both forecast long-only (the mechanism's only direction), but they diverge sharply in probability: MNEME 0.45 (med, hot streak + favorable continuation character + honest calibration nudge applied), TRACE 0.10 (low, 26 dry + sub-bar Dow A-vote base rate + B/C observability broken + the Dow is today's laggard leg). I am explicitly not letting MNEME's conviction bleed into TRACE's write-up — a strong SPY continuation setup says nothing about DIA's independent signal on a tech-led tape. Same-day co-fire risk is low (MNEME likely / TRACE unlikely), and per the pool any same-day fire counts as one clustered observation anyway. Each stack sizes independently at standard 0.75% if it fires. GHOST stays frozen (Phase 2, Decision D2) — no plan, no forecast. The two-sided NVDA-hold-vs-fade question is the session's spine: it decides whether today is an extension day (MNEME's continuation) or a churn day (both stand down). Tomorrow's Warsh keynote caps the extension and is the next live risk after this session.
Plan Filed
- Filed: 2026-08-27 04:33 PT (pre-open — briefing 07:00 ET, watchlist 07:16 ET, both authoritative)
- Frontmatter forecasts complete for every active member: yes
- GHOST: FROZEN (Phase 2) — not planned for
- Firm-wide status: GO — no Tier-1 today; NVDA reported yesterday so the mega-cap earnings skip does not fire. Live, two-sided tech-led gap-up. VIX 14.94 LOW (both stacks' best regime, now a live input). MNEME: 0.45 long med — continuation setup present, Window A preferred, hot streak + calibration nudge; watch NVDA hold-vs-fade vs SPY 765.94/766.58. TRACE: 0.10 long low — no trade expected, 26 dry + sub-bar Dow A-vote base rate + B/C observability broken + Dow is today's laggard; watch whether A breaks 40% and whether B/C data recovers. Next live risk: Friday's Warsh keynote (Jackson Hole).

Cadence Rule Header
Weekly/Friday or same-day-on-trade. Today is a trade-trigger day — BOTH members traded (the first same-day co-fire in weeks), so this reflection runs same-day. Period scope: since the last desk reflection (2026-08-24), covering 08-25, 08-26, 08-27. GHOST remains frozen (Phase 2, Decision D2) — no reflection.

Combined desk cumulative (Phase 3): +$719.31 across 29 trades (21 MNEME +$1,068.52, 8 TRACE −$349.21), combined 41.4% WR (12W/17L). This period: 2 trades, net −$57.72 (MNEME −$57.72, TRACE $0.00).
The session: a clean tech-led extension where both members traded the lagging legs
The EOD brief describes a textbook two-tier trending-up, tech-led extension day: QQQ +1.39% (1.26× ATR) led, SPY +0.68% (1.34× ATR) confirmed, the Dow lagged further (+0.3%), VIX eased to 14.51 (LOW), both indices reclaimed their 20-day SMAs. The driver was purely corporate — Nvidia's beat-and-raise refueled the AI complex (~+9%); the day's only scheduled macro (weekly claims, 203K) was benign. The AM's base case — a tech-led extension if NVDA holds its gap — delivered to the letter; the named gap-fade risk did not fire. This is a day where the direction was genuinely assignable and correctly assigned — but for this desk it was a laggard-leg day.
Both KNN members fired long on the broad/Dow legs and both failed to monetize: MNEME's Window B (SPY, the lagging broad leg) was stopped out for −$57.72 after an afternoon whipsaw; TRACE's Window C (DIA, the lagging Dow leg) stopped flat at entry. The direction call was right (both closed up; direction_hit=1 for both per calibration), but the entries — both on the lagging tier of a two-tier day — did not follow through. This is the desk-level story.
MNEME — a decisive, faithful Window B fire that the laggard-leg afternoon took out
MNEME traded once and lost on the stop: window=B vote=73.3% max_sim=0.7116, long SPY 97 @ 770.62 (12:00), stop 769.76, exit 770.02 @ 14:25 (STOP), net −$57.72. Cumulative: 21 trades, 52.4% WR (11W/10L), +$1,068.52, SPRT CONSISTENT-WITH-BACKTEST (LLR +4.333, still well above the +2.944 upper bound).
The fire was fully faithful to strategy — a decisive 73.3% (11-of-15) Window B vote with healthy similarity (0.7116 ≥ 0.50 floor). Nothing blocked; the gate did its job. But the plan's own pre-registered caveat is what bit: the desk plan called Window A the preferred event-clean/continuation-clean path and explicitly flagged that Window B (anchor, enter 12:00, flat 16:00) "carries afternoon execution risk if the NVDA fade unfolds later" and that SPY was the lagging tier on the tech-led tape. The engine fired Window B (not the preferred A), and the afternoon leg chopped: price dipped to the stop at 770.02 at 14:25 then recovered to close 771.18 — above the 770.62 entry. A genuine decisive continuation on the broad leg that got whipped on intraday chop and then the tape resumed. Direction right, timing wrong — the classic two-tier laggard-leg whipsaw. This is session-character-shaped, not calibration.
TRACE — first qualifying trade in 26 sessions, and it stopped flat at entry on the lowest-trust window
TRACE traded for the first time since 07-27 — ending the 26-session dry streak: window=C vote=70.0% max_sim=0.6529, long DIA 140 @ 535.71 (14:00), stop 535.42, exit 535.71 (same minute, STOP) — an entry-stop, no-slippage zero-out, net $0.00. Cumulative: 8 trades, 12.5% WR (1W/7L), −$349.21, SPRT CONTINUE (LLR −1.703, −1.241 from DEGRADED at −2.944).
Three things to keep distinct:
- This was a plan-confidence boundary event at its clearest. TRACE forecast 0.10 long, LOW conviction — the plan's explicit read was "no trade expected" on a tech-led day where the Dow is the laggard leg — and the engine fired anyway, on Window C, the flagged lowest-trust window, on the least-favorable character. This is the recurring engine-overrides-low-plan-confidence pattern, now showing up on the DRY side of the roster. The outcome was flat (neither a win nor a dollar loss), so it is not a losing counter-example; but a low-confidence fire that taxes the SPRT as a loss is exactly the tax the plan-confidence analysis warns about.
- Window C data delivered today. After consecutive sessions of
B:no_data C:no_data, Window C produced a full, decisive read (vote 70%, sim 0.6529 ≥ 0.60 floor) — a recovery/improvement in the B/C observability that was the desk's highest-priority open item. Whether B/C delivery is now dependably live, or C-only, needs confirming; but a C fire with full data is meaningful progress. - The DEGRADED-clock hazard has escalated to live. A qualifying trade fired and logged as a loss (flat/no-gain → win=False), so the pre-registered DEGRADED protocol clock can now advance on trades, not just hover. At LLR −1.703, −1.241 from DEGRADED, TRACE is two or three more losing qualifying trades from the boundary — the pre-registered path (desk-PM review at DEGRADED → TEMPER conversation within 5 sessions) is the standing response, not a unilateral tweak.
Plan calibration (WS4b rows — period)
| Date | Member | p_trade | Direction | Traded | Dir hit | Brier |
|---|
| 08-25 | MNEME | 0.40 | long | 0 | — | 0.16 |
| 08-25 | TRACE | 0.10 | long | 0 | — | 0.01 |
| 08-26 | MNEME | 0.05 | none | 0 | — | 0.0025 |
| 08-26 | TRACE | 0.05 | none | 0 | — | 0.0025 |
| 08-27 | MNEME | 0.45 | long | 1 | 1 | 0.3025 |
| 08-27 | TRACE | 0.10 | long | 1 | 1 | 0.81 |
MNEME's 0.45 (med) traded-and-hit-direction; the 0.3025 Brier reflects a traded-and-lost day on a mid-probability forecast — an honest, middling score. TRACE's 0.81 Brier is the standout: it forecast 0.10 (unlikely) and the engine traded. The 0.10 was honest against the structural DIA-leg case, but it was wrong in outcome — the low-probability forecast is exactly the plan-confidence boundary showing up as bad calibration. Worth naming, not punishing: the forecast was defensible; the engine's override of a near-zero probability on the lowest-trust window is the thing to watch.
Desk-level observations
- A same-day co-fire — and both members lost on the lagging legs. This is the first same-day co-fire in weeks and, per the Family 5 pool, counts as one clustered observation (same long-only LOW-VIX KNN mechanism, same session character, correlated by construction). Both fired long, both direction-hit on an up day, both failed to monetize on the lagging tier of a two-tier tech-led tape (MNEME stopped out on SPY's afternoon chop; TRACE flat at entry on DIA). The session's breadth split — tech/QQQ led, broad/Dow lagged — was precisely hostile to both members' continuation fingerprints on their laggard legs.
- The two-tier laggard-leg failure mode is now N=2 for Window B. MNEME's stop-out matches the 07-24 TEMPER learning (two-tier divergence creates a failure mode where the session's character changes between observation and execution windows). That learning was Window-B-specific; today is a second, near-identical instance. N=2, not yet the N=3 escalation threshold, but the pattern is now genuinely repeatable and worth naming.
- TRACE's dry streak ending is regime-resolution, not a gate fix. The 26-session drought was the Dow-leg sub-bar A-vote base rate (regime) plus B/C observability (operational). Today Window C — not A — finally produced a decisive read on the least-favorable character, and it was flat. This does not reopen the gate question; it confirms the gates (K=10, max_sim ≥0.60, vote ≥62%) can fire decisively even when the plan expects no-trade.

Event Risk vs. Expectation
- Event risk call (LOW — held, and correctly not a skip day): The desk plan rated LOW (no Tier-1 within 7 days; only routine weekly claims at 8:30) and correctly reasoned this was not a skip day — NVDA reported after the close on 08-26, so the mega-cap earnings hard-skip did not fire; today was the read-through session. Claims printed benign (203K vs ~208K cons, no reaction). The named primary risk — the NVDA whisper-fade — did not fire: the gap held and extended (~+9%), exactly the AM's conditional base case. Event-risk handling was correct end-to-end.
- Session character: trending-up, tech-led extension (QQQ +1.39% / 1.26× ATR, SPY +0.68% / 1.34× ATR, Dow +0.3%; VIX 14.51 LOW). The AM's two-tier shape (tech up, broad/Dow lagging) resolved exactly as framed. For this desk, that breadth split was the operative hazard: both members' continuation fingerprints lived on the lagging legs, where the two-tier divergence suppresses follow-through. MNEME's plan called this out for Window B specifically; TRACE's plan called it out structurally.
- Invalidations: none of the absolute invalidation conditions triggered (no >1% gaps, VIX never >18). Both members' "stand down rather than force a continuation on a fading tape" concern was about a gap-FADE — which did not happen; instead the tape extended and both engines fired on lagging legs. The two-sided NVDA question resolved cleanly to the extension side.
- Forward risk (next sessions): Friday 08-28 — Fed Chair Kevin Warsh's Jackson Hole keynote at 10:00 AM ET, HIGH impact — the week's central-bank pivot. Today's extension runs into it; the question is whether the AI bid carries into the speech or pauses/pre-positions for it. The desk's standing read (do not over-commit a one-day direction into that pivot) carries. Next Tier-1 after that: NFP Sep 4, CPI Sep 11, FOMC Sep 16.
Per-Member Binding Gate Analysis
MNEME — binding gate: Window B vote ≥62%. REGIME + session-character, not calibration — cleared decisively (73.3%) but the laggard-leg afternoon whipsaw took it out.
Nothing blocked MNEME; the vote gate cleared decisively (vote=73.3%, 11-of-15, sim 0.7116 ≥ 0.50). The trade was faithful to strategy and decisive. The loss is not a gate misbehavior — it is session character: on a two-tier tech-led day (QQQ +1.39% vs SPY +0.68%), the broad/SPY leg was the lagging tier, and the Window B afternoon anchor (enter 12:00, flat 16:00) got whipped — price hit the stop at 770.02 @ 14:25, then recovered to close 771.18, above the 770.62 entry. The plan pre-registered exactly this risk ("Window B carries afternoon execution risk" and SPY is the lagging tier). This is the two-tier laggard-leg whipsaw — the failure mode documented in TEMPER's 07-24 Window B learning (session character changes between observation and execution windows). Implication: no gate tweak; this is a session-character watch. The plan's Window A preference was correct and remains the cleaner structural path on two-tier tech-led days. SPRT stays CONSISTENT-WITH-BACKTEST (LLR +4.333, +1.389 above the upper bound) — a single stop-out is well inside the tracked distribution; the sticky CONSISTENT decision (trade #14) is unchanged. Window C rolling-15-trade PF monitor quiet (no C trades). Flag for learnings.md: this is the second losing Window B on a two-tier divergence session (N=2, matching the 07-24 TEMPER finding) — a repeatable laggard-leg whipsaw pattern now worth TEMPER's eye, though not yet N=3.
TRACE — binding gate: composite (vote ≥62% + B/C observability). REGIME + operational, not calibration — the dry streak ended on a decisive Window C fire that stopped flat at entry; DEGRADED-clock hazard now live.
TRACE's 26-session drought ended not on Window A (the standing sub-bar base rate) but on Window C — vote=70.0% (7-of-10), sim 0.6529 ≥ 0.60 — the flagged lowest-trust window, on the least-favorable character (laggard Dow, tech-led day). Two structural facts hold: (1) the Dow-leg vote gate remains REGIME, not calibration — the persistent sub-bar A-vote base rate is the K=10 6-of-10 resolution point; today's fire was C, not a resolution of the A base-rate question. (2) B/C observability appears to have recovered — Window C delivered a full decisive read, an improvement over the B:no_data C:no_data run; whether this is C-only or dependable B/C delivery needs confirming across sessions. The binding constraint this period is the DEGRADED-clock hazard: the qualifying trade logged as a loss (flat/no-gain → win=False), advancing LLR to −1.703, −1.241 from DEGRADED. The pre-registered protocol — desk-PM review at DEGRADED → TEMPER conversation within 5 sessions — is now the live path, not a hypothetical; TRACE is two or three more losing qualifying trades from the boundary. No unilateral tweak to locked v2 gates.

| Action needed? | No gate tweak — Window A preference reaffirmed; watch SPRT (still CONSISTENT) | No gate tweak — pre-registered DEGRADED protocol now the live path; confirm B/C delivery dependability |
Narrative finding — the same-day co-fire is the two-tier laggard-leg tax. The desk's value-add today is the consolidated read on its first same-day co-fire in weeks. Both members are the same long-only LOW-VIX KNN mechanism on different instruments; on a two-tier tech-led extension (QQQ +1.39% / SPY +0.68% / Dow +0.3%), both engines found decisive continuation signals on the lagging broad/Dow legs and both failed to follow through — MNEME stopped out on SPY's afternoon chop (recovered to close above entry), TRACE flat at entry on DIA. The direction was right for both (direction_hit=1), the timing on the laggard legs was wrong for both. This is the pooled expression of the two-tier divergence: on a day where tech leads and breadth lags, a KNN long-only continuation edge on the lagging indices is structurally against-the-grain, and the co-fire captured that tax twice. Because this counts as one clustered observation for the pool, it does not double-count evidence, but it is a shared-session signal worth naming at the desk level. The plan's read — MNEME reasonably placed for a continuation (and it fired, just on the wrong window), TRACE structurally unlikely — was directionally right on probability but the engine overrode TRACE's near-zero confidence.
Open TEMPER Items (Carried Forward)
- MNEME — Window B two-tier laggard-leg failure mode (session-character watch, N=2). Today's stop-out is the second losing Window B on a two-tier divergence session, matching the 07-24 TEMPER learning. N=2, not yet N≥3 — no escalation; flagged for learnings.md as a repeatable pattern. The desk plan's Window A preference is reaffirmed as the cleaner structural path on two-tier tech-led days.
- MNEME — Window C rolling-15-trade PF < 1.2 suspension monitor. Standing. No Window C trades this period (the trade was Window B). Watch remains open.
- MNEME — SPRT. CONSISTENT-WITH-BACKTEST, sticky since trade #14 (LLR +4.333, up-and-over the +2.944 bound). A single stop-out is inside the tracked distribution; no action.
- TRACE — data-infra/runner-logging observability (operational). Partial resolution signal: Window C delivered a full decisive read today (vote 70%, sim 0.6529) after a long
B:no_data C:no_data run. Whether B/C delivery is now dependably live (vs C-only) needs confirming across sessions. Still flagged for learnings.md. - TRACE — DEGRADED-clock hazard (NOW LIVE). A qualifying trade fired and logged as a loss (flat → win=False), so the pre-registered DEGRADED protocol clock can now advance on trades. LLR −1.703, −1.241 from DEGRADED (−2.944). Pre-registered response: desk-PM review at DEGRADED → TEMPER conversation within 5 sessions. Two or three more losing qualifying trades triggers it. No unilateral action.
- TRACE — reconfirmation ledger items (SPY Calmar, random-entry control, event-day breakdown, VIX regime breakdown, KNN contamination diagnostic). Standing obligations from WS2c; not advanced this period. The DEGRADED-clock trajectory makes the calibration evidence from live accumulation more, not less, important.
Desk Summary for Orchestrator
House Mneme's Thursday was a trade-trigger day for both members — the first same-day co-fire in weeks — on a clean tech-led extension where both traded the lagging legs and both failed to monetize: MNEME −$57.72 (Window B decisive 73.3% long on SPY, stopped on afternoon chop at 14:25 then the tape recovered to close above entry; SPRT stays CONSISTENT-WITH-BACKTEST at LLR +4.333) and TRACE $0.00 flat (first qualifying trade in 26 sessions, Window C 70% long on DIA stopped at entry, no slippage; SPRT CONTINUE at LLR −1.703, −1.241 from DEGRADED). Direction was right for both (direction_hit=1); the two-tier laggard-leg tax hit both — the pooled expression of the 07-24 two-tier divergence finding, now N=2 for Window B. TRACE's dry streak ending and its B/C data recovery are the structural developments, but the DEGRADED-clock hazard is now live and pre-registered (desk-PM review at DEGRADED → TEMPER conversation within 5 sessions). No unilateral gate tweaks; MNEME's Window A preference reaffirmed on two-tier tech-led days. Next: Friday's Warsh keynote (Jackson Hole, HIGH impact) — the desk's standing read is not to over-commit a one-day direction into it.
Reflection Filed
- Filed: 2026-08-27 (EOD reflection, desk cadence — trade-day trigger; both mneme and trace traded)
- Next session event risk (from EOD briefing): HIGH for Fri 08-28 — Fed Chair Kevin Warsh's Jackson Hole keynote at 10:00 AM ET (the week's central-bank pivot). PCE deflator also possibly Friday. Next Tier-1 after: NFP Sep 4, CPI Sep 11, FOMC Sep 16.
- GHOST: frozen (Phase 2, Decision D2) — no reflection written.
- MNEME and TRACE per-member reflections filed.
- Flags embedded for learnings.md (desk-blind, own members): MNEME — the two-tier laggard-leg whipsaw took out a fully faithful, decisive Window B fire (vote=73.3%/sim 0.7116, long SPY 97 @ 770.62, STOP @ 770.02 @14:25, −$57.72, tape recovered to close 771.18 above entry); this is the second losing Window B on a two-tier divergence session (N=2, matching the 07-24 TEMPER finding) — a repeatable session-character failure mode on the lagging broad leg, watch not escalate; SPRT CONSISTENT (LLR +4.333), Window A preference reaffirmed. TRACE — first qualifying trade in 26 sessions fired on Window C (vote=70%/sim 0.6529, long DIA 140 @ 535.71, STOP flat at entry, $0.00) at plan-confidence 0.10 LOW on the flagged lowest-trust window — an engine-overrides-low-confidence event that taxed the SPRT as a loss; B/C data delivery recovered (Window C full read) after the long
no_data run; the DEGRADED-clock hazard is now live (LLR −1.703, −1.241 from DEGRADED; pre-registered desk-PM review → TEMPER conversation path is now in play).
