Briefing reference: /Users/dadbot/Desktop/ClaudeBod/projects/dadbrain/Analysis/briefings/2026-08-26-pm.md PM: Wicker (persona; own stack retired 2026-07-14 — plan covers active members Null + Meridian only)
Both active members' is_event_day() Tier-1 hard-skip gates FIRE TODAY. This is a hard-skip macro session — there is no live window for either stack. Bucket A flags July PCE (8:30 AM ET) — the Fed's preferred gauge, releasing at the open — plus NVDA Q2 after the close (consensus $92.07B rev / $2.09 EPS; China the swing factor) and Jackson Hole / Warsh keynote (Friday) as the week's next central-bank pivot. The Scanner watchlist declares firm-wide NO-GO: "Tier-1 macro data release hard-skips the session. No session today; watchlist is situational awareness, not trade inputs." The briefing is the authoritative price source and it is unambiguous.
The structural reason this desk stands down: reversal strategies live on the line between noise-shaped overnight imbalance and fundamental repricing. A Tier-1 macro print at the open is fundamental repricing — the exact population both mechanisms are built to exclude. A hot PCE read presses the elevated-rates narrative into Jackson Hole; an in-line read clears the path into tonight's NVDA binary. Either way the 8:30 AM print makes the opening a price-discovery process, not a clean fadeable imbalance: structures do not form coherently until the PCE dust settles, and the NVDA after-close reaction does not resolve until tomorrow. There is no gap to be faded and no prior-high sweep to be taken on a tape that refuses to pre-assign direction. Do not extrapolate pre-event strength or weakness as a trend — today is a binary resolved in two separate legs.
is_event_day() hard skips fire. Firm-wide NO-GO. No live window. No trade expected today — the Tier-1 PCE event filter closes my session before any entry logic runs. My is_event_day() hard skip (FOMC / NFP / CPI / PCE) returns before gap size, volume, or trend alignment are even read. The 06-18 sequencing lesson is explicit: on a Tier-1 day, the event filter must sequence ahead of gap measurement — a LOW VIX at the open must not re-enable a session the event filter has already closed. The 8:30 PCE print is precisely the fundamental-repricing population my mechanism excludes; a small in-band gap on such a day is not noise to fade, it is the first leg of a binary being priced. Setup present: NO (hard-skip, deterministic). Even setting the gate aside, the overnight is a flat, directional-unclear hold-fire — no gap to measure, no clean imbalance to fade. Sizing: none. p_trade 0.0, direction none, conviction low.
Why not a residual/legacy read: the NVDA filter is notable but not bindng today — NVDA reports after today's close, so its gap-driven hard-skip belongs to tomorrow (08-27), not today; and the PCE Tier-1 skip already closes today regardless. There is no defensive posture to hold: a hard-skip day logs a no_trade and the desk moves on.
Context/calibration: SPRT CONTINUE (n=9, W9/L0, 100% WR, LLR +1.695); 9 of the first 30 on the 2026-WR watch (≤60% triggers mandatory review — currently 100%). Today is a scheduled no-trade, forecast as such (p_trade 0.0). I rejoin with a live window on the first non-Tier-1 session after the PCE/NVDA/Jackson-Hole pressure comes off; NVDA's post-close print on 8/26 makes 8/27 a likely-hard-skip for the mega-cap-earnings filter, so the next realistic surface is the first clean session after the earnings-residual window clears.
No trade expected today — the Tier-1 PCE hard skip closes my Kill Zone before per-symbol evaluation. Since the 2026-07-14 fix, paper_trade.py calls is_event_day() and returns before the per-symbol data fetch, matching Null's pattern — PCE is a Tier-1 decision day, so the hard skip fires and there is no 9:30–11:30 window. Setup present: NO (hard-skip, deterministic). The mechanism needs price to push up into a prior-session high and reject with RSI(2) ≥ 88 on a trend-character tape inside the ADX 18–32 band — but a Tier-1 8:30 print makes the opening a repricing discovery process, not a structural drive-into-a-level that produces an exhaustion sweep. Two-sided churn off PCE denies the one-sided over-extension the setup is built on. Sizing: none. p_trade 0.0, direction none (bearish-only is moot), conviction low.
Session-character fit: N/A — the kill zone opens into the binary, structure is not yet formed. Even the "reachable in principle ≠ likely to be reached" framing is beside the point: on a NO-GO day the reach itself is undefined until PCE resolves, and the after-close NVDA reaction doesn't feed the tape until tomorrow. No vol/ADX gate is even read. I will not loosen the sweep/RSI/ADX stack to manufacture frequency (standing rule) — this is a hard skip, not a gate-adjustment case.
Context/calibration: SPRT CONTINUE (n=2, W1/L1, LLR −0.175); spy_leg n=1 WR 100%; iwm_leg n=0. QQQ sweeps the prior high 5× with no RSI exhaustion (max 46.5 vs 88) on 08-25 was a correctly-filtered no-trade — regime, not calibration; that pattern stays the watch. IWM (n=15, honest live anchor ~56% WR) remains the leg to watch for coherent volume on the small-cap rate pressure, on the first non-Tier-1 session after the cluster clears.
