Shared Market Read

  • Event risk today: MEDIUM — the 2:00 PM Bessent press conference is the scheduled headline clock, and it is the single most important structural input for both stacks today. Treasury Secretary Bessent unveils details of the US economic-isolation plan for Iran at 2 PM ET, layered on the US–Canada tariff escalation (50% tariffs on ~$20B effective Sat; Canadian retaliation Sept 8) and elevated long-dated yields (~4.71%) — the persistent bond headwind the buyback relief failed to calm. The week's later pivots (PCE + NVDA Aug 26, Jackson Hole Aug 27–29) sit outside today. Bessent is not in either stack's hard-skip set (FOMC/CPI/NFP/PCE), so no window is mechanically locked — but the 2 PM event is a window-conviction input, not background: a scheduled geopolitical headline clock is exactly the shape that reprices the afternoon.
  • Session character expected: contained / ranging morning on elevated yields, with volatility potential concentrated at the 2 PM event. Coin-flip profile (5-for-5 discipline): futures modestly soft, Nasdaq-led, no hard gap-down, no pre-assigned direction. Do NOT pre-assign direction and do NOT pre-assign which leg leads — the 08-17 (leaned up → resolved down) and 08-19 (leaned tech-down → resolved up) reversals, plus the standing coin-flip discipline, are the firm's explicit standing pattern. Key levels over bias.
  • VIX regime: 15.94 — LOW (<18, ticking up from 15.13 on the weekend escalation). Both stacks' best backtested regime (MNEME VIX<20 PF 2.39; TRACE VIX<20 PF 2.46). Favorable for any qualifying continuation — IF a clean window resolves.
  • Key levels: SPY prior close 765.64, prior range 764.18–767.84, SMA20 762.28 (above), ATR(14) 5.88. QQQ prior close 713.41, prior range 709.29–715.65. DIA recent Phase 3 band ~$515–524 (last entry 07-27 at $523.31); DIA not in the briefing price block — confirm gap at the open.
  • Macro backdrop: Uptrend intact (both indices above SMA20, near record) but under a persistent bond-pressure headwind (long yields), a geopolitical oil bid (Brent ~$93, easing ~-1.5% as Tehran dismissed the sanctions), and a fresh US–Canada trade escalation. The morning is a range-bound drift on yields; the afternoon is a scheduled-event lottery. Structure may not form cleanly until after 2 PM.
  • Structural mapping for both stacks — the differential event exposure is the day's core read: neither stack hard-skips Bessent, but the three KNN windows have materially different 2 PM exposure:
  • Window A (observe 9:30–10:00, execute 10:00–12:00): event-clean — completes two hours before the press conference. The cleanest structural fit today for both stacks.
  • Window B (observe 10:00–12:00, enter 12:00, hard flat 16:00): holds through the 2 PM event — a 12:00 entry carries direct scheduled-event exposure across the press conference.
  • Window C (observe 12:00–14:00, enter 14:00, hard flat 15:30): entry coincides exactly with the event — the worst fit, and Window C is MNEME's flagged window (holdout PF 1.25). TEMPER's standing 06-17/06-18 observation generalizes here: a genuinely range-bound pre-event coil can admit a low-quality afternoon entry into a scheduled 2 PM catalyst.

MNEME — SPY KNN (p_trade 0.38, long, low)

Setup present: the mechanism is live and just proved itself — 08-21's Window A fire (vote=73.3%, max_sim=0.8499) resolved the four-session 60% vote cluster with a decisive continuation that WON +$213.15. But today is a MEDIUM-event coin-flip morning, and the clean path is specifically Window A. All three windows are mechanically tradeable (Bessent not in the skip set), LOW VIX 15.94, SPY above SMA20 near the record. The 08-21 win is the thing that keeps my p_trade from dropping further: the A-vote finally cleared 62% with healthy similarity on a genuine continuation, and SPRT is CONSISTENT (LLR +3.963). But the honest base rate on a direction-unknown, soft Nasdaq-led open into a scheduled 2 PM event is lower than a clean Friday continuation: my Window A (10:00) needs a real recovery/up-fade off the open, and the pre-event range-bound drift on elevated yields is exactly the tape where my A-vote has historically run sub-decisive (the 60% cluster) or decisive-but-marginal-similarity (08-20 B at 93% vote / 0.399 sim). I forecast 0.38 — the direction is the mechanism's (long-only), not a macro lean, and the 2 PM event keeps me from putting more conviction on a one-day long.

  • Sizing vs. event risk: Standard 0.75% ($187.50), one position — but with an explicit window-quality call. Window A is event-clean (completes by 12:00, two hours before Bessent) and takes full standard sizing. Window B (12:00 entry, holds through 2 PM) carries direct event exposure — I treat it as reduced-conviction: it can fire at standard size per the engine, but the pre-registered reading is that an afternoon long held across a scheduled geopolitical press conference is the loss template I'm least willing to defend, and I will not add on top of it. Window C (14:00 entry, exactly at the event) I do not want to fire at all — it is the flagged window, its entry coincides with the Bessent headline, and a range-bound coil into a scheduled event is precisely the low-quality-pre-event-entry counter-case TEMPER flagged. This is conviction/selection guidance, not a lock-out — the engine retains final authority under the non-binding rule.
  • Session-character fit: Moderate, and only on Window A. LOW-VIX continuation is my best backtested regime, and 08-21 proved a decisive A continuation fires on it. But today's soft-Nasdaq, yield-pressured, coin-flip morning is not a clean single-leg continuation backdrop; a genuine recovery in SPY off the open is the prerequisite, and the 2 PM event means any structure I read in the morning is conditional on it surviving the afternoon headline.
  • Key levels: SPY prior close 765.64, prior range 764.18–767.84, SMA20 762.28. A sustained recovery back above ~765.64 (prior close) into 10:00 is the cleanest A continuation shape — the one that fired profitably on 08-21. A bleed below ~764.18 (prior-day low), or a drop toward SMA20 762.28, is the no-long continuation-down shape I must not fight with a long. Watch the Nasdaq-led softness — if SPY tags it as a broad sector bid rather than a clean recovery, that's the two-tier polarity test against a morning continuation.
  • Invalidation (stand down): If SPY gaps > 1% at the open and VIX ticks above 18 on an oil/Hormuz or tariff headline, I sit out the AM session entirely. A broadening selloff (oil/Hormuz flare, rates re-test, or tariff escalation) that takes SPY below ~764.18 into my Window A observation flips the day — I do not chase a long into it. Afternoon event rule (pre-committed): if the morning produces no clean Window A fire and the session is unresolved into 12:00, I treat Window B's 12:00 entry as the last acceptable line — I will not take a Window C long at 14:00 into the Bessent press conference (flagged window + exact event coincidence). A genuine 2 PM event-repricing that inverts the morning read is an absolute stand-down for any afternoon continuation. The standing Window C rolling-15-trade PF monitor remains the watch after the 08-11/08-13 stops.
  • What I'm watching to learn: (1) Whether SPY holds above ~765.64 (prior close) into 10:00 — the decisive-A continuation shape that won on 08-21, and whether my A-vote stays above the 62% bar now that the 60% cluster resolved; (2) whether the Nasdaq-led softness / elevated-yields tape produces another decisive-but-marginal-similarity vote (08-20's 93%/0.399 B pattern) — a regime signature, not a gate miss; (3) whether the 2 PM Bessent event induces an afternoon repricing that inverts any morning structure — the core test of today's event-exposure discipline.

TRACE — DIA KNN (p_trade 0.12, long, low)

Setup present: the structural case is against a DIA trade today, and it is specific to the Dow leg, not just the standing dry run. Today's DIA-relevant catalyst is the US–Canada tariff escalation — 50% tariffs on ~$20B effective Sat, Canadian retaliation Sept 8 — which lands directly on the Dow's industrial/consumer blue-chip leg (the sector-level "unclear" candidate in the briefing). On 08-21 — a contained Friday where the Dow was actually the up-leader (+~1%) — my Window A delivered a genuine market read (sim 0.808, above the 0.60 floor) yet voted only 40%: my library found no DIA continuation fingerprint even on a firm Dow tape. Layering the tariff headwind (a negative-or-unclear, DIA-specific sector catalyst) on top of that, plus the oscillating data path (08-20 all-blank → 08-21 A-only) and the 2 PM event exposure, a decisive ≥62% vote with sim ≥0.60 today is genuinely unlikely. I forecast a real trade at 0.12.

  • Sizing vs. event risk: Standard 0.75% ($187.50), one position — the risk is not size but probability. Separate live-risk flag (not a size input): SPRT is at LLR −1.350, −1.595 from DEGRADED (CONTINUE), now nineteen sessions dry since the last qualifying trade on 07-27. If I log a qualifying trade and it loses, the pre-registered DEGRADED protocol begins immediately; the clock still cannot start because every dry session is a no-trade day. I do not pre-emptively shrink on this; I am explicit it is the live hazard and the tariff-triggered Dow day could be the one that finally trips a loss if a marginal continuation fires.
  • Session-character fit: Poor-to-moderate, and today the Dow leg's catalyst is a headwind, not a tailwind. The 08-21 observation (firm Dow, no DIA continuation fingerprint in the library) is the most recent direct evidence that even a "good" Dow day does not produce a decisive TRACE vote. Today the Dow/industrials carry the US–Canada tariff escalation — a sector-level uncertainty that argues against a clean blue-chip continuation. The 2 PM event exposure (Window B holds through it; Window C enters into it) compounds the fit problem.
  • Key levels: DIA band ~$515–524 (last entry 07-27 at $523.31). Whether the Dow holds the firm side (flat-ish) while Nasdaq moves, or leads lower on the tariff escalation, is the day's two-tier test. A Dow that bleeds below ~$515 on the tariff/industrial leg is the no-long shape; a Dow that stabilizes and leads up on the oil/energy cyclicals (XOM/DVN/CAT/CVX) is the only real path to a decisive vote — but 08-21 showed even that path may not produce one.
  • Invalidation (stand down): If ANY window returns no_data for Window A (the observability pattern — 08-20's recurrence), I flag it immediately as a data-path event, not a market read, per the 08-17/08-20 reflection; if A blanks AND my low-vote pattern holds, no qualifying signal can form — I close without a trade. Absolute invalidation: if DIA gaps > 1% and VIX breaks 18 on an oil/Hormuz, tariff, or rates headline, I sit out — an event-repricing tape, not a recognizable pattern-library day. Afternoon event rule (pre-committed): I will not take a Window C long at 14:00 into the Bessent press conference (exact event coincidence), and a 2 PM repricing that inverts the morning read is an absolute stand-down for any afternoon continuation.
  • What I'm watching to learn: (1) Whether Window A delivers data at all after the 08-20 all-blank → 08-21 A-only oscillation — the single most important observation: is the data path still oscillating or has it stabilized on A-only?; (2) how the US–Canada tariff escalation actually lands on the Dow industrial leg — does it pressure DIA below the $515–524 band (the no-long shape) or does it get absorbed and the Dow hold firm; (3) whether the 2 PM Bessent event adds a scheduled-repricing tail on top of the tariff backdrop that keeps any DIA continuation sub-decisive.

Pooled note (Family 5)

Both stacks are long-only, LOW-VIX-regime-backed, and mechanically tradeable today (Bessent is not in the skip set). But the 2 PM scheduled headline clock is the binding structural input for the whole desk: Window A (execute 10:00–12:00) is event-clean for both and is the only genuinely favorable path; Window B holds through the event (reduced-conviction); Window C enters exactly at the event and is the day's explicit no-go for both stacks — MNEME's flagged window plus the TEMPER-flagged low-quality-pre-event-entry counter-case. Any same-day co-fire counts as one clustered observation for the pooled Family 5 record per TEMPER's correlated-session rule. I forecast MNEME the more likely to trade (0.38 — mechanism live after the 08-21 winning A fire, Window A event-clean, LOW-VIX-favorable) and TRACE muted (0.12 — nineteen sessions dry, 08-21 showed even a firm Dow day yields no DIA continuation vote, and today's tariff escalation is a DIA-leg headwind on top of the oscillating data path and the 2 PM event). Both direction long (the mechanism is long-only — neither forecast is a macro lean, per the standing no-direction pre-assignment directive). Each stack sizes independently at standard 0.75%; the risk is probability, not size. GHOST stays frozen (Phase 2, Decision D2) — no plan. The desk-level coin-flip discipline (08-17/08-19 reversals) is the standing guard against any pre-assigned-direction thinking; key levels over bias, and the 2 PM event overrides any morning-only read.

Plan Filed

  • Filed: 2026-08-24 08:00 ET (pre-open — briefing 07:01, watchlist 07:16, both authoritative)
  • Frontmatter forecasts complete for every active member: yes
  • GHOST: FROZEN (Phase 2) — not planned for
  • Firm-wide status: GO — event risk MEDIUM, no Tier-1 skip today (PCE Aug 26 + NVDA Aug 26, Jackson Hole Aug 27–29 outside). Coin-flip day, no pre-assigned direction. The 2 PM Bessent press conference is the day's core structural input: Window A event-clean, Window B holds through it, Window C no-go for both stacks. VIX 15.94 LOW — both stacks' best regime. Tails: oil/Hormuz (Brent ~$93), US–Canada tariffs (50% on ~$20B, Canada retaliation Sept 8), long-dated yields ~4.71%.

Cadence Rule Header

Weekly/Friday or same-day-on-trade. Today is a trade-trigger day (MNEME traded), so this reflection runs same-day. Period scope: a single session since the last desk reflection (2026-08-21) — just 08-24 (Monday). GHOST remains frozen (Phase 2, Decision D2) — no reflection.

Combined desk cumulative (Phase 3): +$777.03 across 27 trades (20 MNEME +$1,126.24, 7 TRACE −$349.21), combined 44.4% WR (12W/15L). One observation this period (MNEME traded; TRACE did not — no same-day co-fire, so no correlated-session counting concern; the Family 5 pool adds 1 MNEME-only observation, total 27).

MNEME — the 60% cluster has fully resolved; decisive A fires now win back-to-back

MNEME traded once and won — its second consecutive decisive-and-winning Window A fire. After the four-session 60% vote cluster (08-14→08-20) resolved on 08-21 at 73.3% (+$213.15), today the A-vote cleared even more decisively at vote=86.7%, max_sim=0.8064 — the most decisive A vote of the entire run (prior high 80.0% on 08-17). Long SPY 98 @ 763.42 (10:00, Window A), exit HARD_FLAT @ 764.96 (12:00), net +$150.43. Cumulative: 20 trades, +$1,126.24, 55.0% WR (11W/9L), SPRT CONSISTENT-WITH-BACKTEST (LLR +4.602, up from +3.963).

The trade was the plan's exact thesis. The desk plan called Window A the event-clean path (completes by 12:00, two hours before the 2 PM Bessent presser) and the only genuinely favorable structural fit — and the engine fired precisely that, hard-flat by 12:00, carrying zero exposure into the scheduled 2 PM headline (which resolved benign: oil and yields fell). SPY closed 763.46, below the 764.96 exit, so the hard-flat at 12:00 was well-timed on a session that faded into the close. The pre-committed afternoon rule (no Window C into the event) held trivially — a clean morning fire meant no afternoon question arose.

The load-bearing question — binding gate, regime or calibration? The vote gate cleared decisively; nothing blocked. The 60% cluster has now fully resolved into decisive, profitable A fires on consecutive sessions (73.3%, 86.7%). This is the strongest confirmation of the REGIME reading established on 08-21: for K=15, 62% sits between 9-of-15 (60%) and 10-of-15 (66.7%), so the cluster was the gate's natural binomial resolution point, and the gate was never too tight — it clears decisively when the continuation is genuine. SPRT CONSISTENT (LLR +4.602) continues to track the backtest. No unilateral tweak.

Plan-confidence boundary — now 2-for-2. MNEME forecast 0.38 long, LOW conviction and the engine fired-and-won, the same boundary event as 08-21 (also 0.38, traded, won). Two consecutive low-confidence forecasts that traded-and-won is no longer a one-off counter-case to the 07-20 low-confidence-loss template. The 0.38 was anchored on the resolved 60% cluster base rate; now that decisive A fires are the live base rate, the forecast has not caught up — a calibration observation (n=2) that argues Window A p_trade has been under-stated ~0.1–0.2 since the cluster resolved.

TRACE — the data path has refined from "oscillating all-window" to "A-stable, B/C-blank"

TRACE logged no trade — nineteen sessions dry since 07-27. Today's row: A:vote=40%/62% sim=0.779/0.6 B:no_data C:no_data. Two distinct things:

  • Window A delivered a genuine market read — vote=40%, sim=0.779 (above the 0.60 floor). The block was the vote gate finding no decisive DIA continuation — a market no-signal, not a data failure. This is the second consecutive genuine A read (08-21 sim 0.808/vote 40%, 08-24 sim 0.779/vote 40%).
  • Window B and C blanked again (no_data) — the observability issue is now B/C-specific, not all-window. The desk's highest-priority open item (data-infra/runner-logging) has narrowed its signature.

The load-bearing question — binding gate, regime or calibration? On the Dow leg the vote gate bound correctly: 40% is a genuine no-signal, not a graze, and sim 0.779 was comfortably above the 0.60 floor (the sim gate did not even bind). The Dow was actually the session's up-leg (~+0.3%, the US–Canada tariff escalation absorbed rather than pressuring the blue-chip leg), yet my library found no decisive DIA continuation — the second straight firm-Dow session yielding only a sub-bar 40% vote. That is REGIME (the standing 6-of-10 vote resolution point for K=10), not calibration. The operational constraint is B/C observability. No unilateral tweak to locked v2 gates; SPRT CONTINUE, LLR −1.350, −1.595 from DEGRADED, and the DEGRADED clock still cannot start because every dry session is a no-trade day.

DateMemberp_tradeDirectionTradedDir hitBrier
08-24MNEME0.38long110.3844
08-24TRACE0.12long0—0.0144

MNEME forecast 0.38, traded, direction hit. The Brier (0.3844) reflects a low-probability forecast on a traded-and-won day — the calibration-vs-outcome tension that the plan-confidence boundary analysis above captures (the 0.38 is honest against the pre-cluster base rate but now under-stated). TRACE's 0.12 produced a near-zero Brier (0.0144) on a correct no-trade call — the low-probability forecast was right because the structural DIA-leg case (firm Dow yields no decisive vote) held again.

Desk-level observations
  • The intra-desk divergence has consolidated into an instrument-level regularity. On 08-21 and again on 08-24, SPY's Window A fired decisively and won (73.3%, 86.7%) while DIA's Window A voted a clean 40% — even though on both days the Dow was the firm/up leg. This is no longer a one-session artifact; two consecutive sessions show the same pattern: the SPY library finds decisive continuation fingerprints on contained/mild tapes, the DIA library does not on firm Dow tapes. Same long-only LOW-VIX KNN mechanism, different instruments/libraries — the divergence is information about instrument microstructure, not failure. No same-day co-fire, so no correlated-session counting issue for the Family 5 pool.
  • The plan's Window A event-clean thesis was validated for the whole desk. Both stacks were forecast long with Window A as the only genuinely favorable path (event-clean, completes by 12:00). MNEME executed it profitably; TRACE, flat all day, also carried zero exposure into the 2 PM Bessent event. The desk's pre-committed afternoon rule (no Window C into the event) held for both. On a two-tier tech-led day that resolved mildly down, the desk's structural call was right end-to-end.
  • Standing threads: (1) MNEME — the 60% A-vote cluster has fully resolved into decisive-and-winning A fires (73.3%, 86.7% back-to-back); SPRT CONSISTENT (LLR +4.602), watch don't act; the plan-confidence boundary (0.38 traded-and-won twice) is a calibration watch. (2) TRACE — the data path has refined to A-stable, B/C-blank; the data-infra/runner-logging diagnosis (now B/C-scoped) remains the desk's highest-priority open item, and the DEGRADED-clock hazard grows with every no-trade day (now 19 sessions dry). Neither is a calibration signal that would license a unilateral change.

Event Risk vs. Expectation

  • Event risk call (MEDIUM — held): The desk plan rated today MEDIUM on the 2 PM Bessent press conference as the primary structural input, layered on the US–Canada tariff escalation (the DIA-leg headwind) and the bond headwind. The event fired on schedule and resolved benign — oil fell (relief, not an escalation spike), yields fell, the session stayed contained. The tariff escalation was absorbed (Dow held ~+0.3%), not a blue-chip-leg repricing. The rating was not over-stated and the outcome did not break the contained profile. The desk carried zero event exposure into the 2 PM print — MNEME hard-flat by 12:00, TRACE flat all day.
  • Session character: A two-tier tech-led mild-down day (Dow +0.3%, Nasdaq −0.99%; SPY contained at 0.71× ATR, QQQ active at 1.23× ATR). The plan's refusal to pre-assign direction was right — neither a mild-up nor a tech-down pre-assignment captures "Dow up AND Nasdaq down." The actual downside fuel was the chip/NVDA selloff into Wednesday's print (a same-day, event-adjacent catalyst the plan could not pre-weight), but it did not break the contained character. For the desk, this meant SPY's contained morning recovery offered a decisive A continuation (MNEME won) while DIA's firm Dow offered none (TRACE correctly stayed out).
  • Invalidations: none triggered for either member — SPY/DIA never gapped >1%, VIX stayed LOW (15.85, never >18), no hot-print repricing flip. The pre-committed afternoon no-Window-C rule held for both.
  • Forward risk (next sessions): PCE Aug 26 + NVDA Q2 Aug 26 — Tier-1, hard skip for both members by pre-registered rule; Jackson Hole Aug 27–29. The chip/NVDA slide into its own Wednesday print is the immediate single-name watch. Oil/Hormuz relief and easing yields are the live but benign tails.

Per-Member Binding Gate Analysis

MNEME — binding gate: Window A vote ≥62%. REGIME, not calibration — cleared decisively (86.7%), second consecutive decisive-and-winning A fire.

Nothing blocked MNEME today; the vote gate cleared decisively at vote=86.7%, max_sim=0.8064 and the trade WON. The four-session 60% cluster (08-14→08-20) has fully resolved into decisive, profitable A fires on consecutive sessions (08-21 73.3%, 08-24 86.7% — the latter the most decisive of the run). This confirms the 08-21 REGIME reading: with K=15 the vote increments in ~6.7pp steps, so 62% sits between 9-of-15 (60%) and 10-of-15 (66.7%) — the cluster was the gate's natural binomial resolution point, and the gate was never too tight; it clears decisively when the continuation shape is genuine, exactly as it has done twice in a row. A too-tight gate would not now be producing back-to-back decisive fires. Implication: no calibration tweak; the healthy resolution is confirmed. SPRT CONSISTENT (LLR +4.602) tracks the backtest. Calibration watch (not a change): the plan-confidence boundary is now 2-for-2 (0.38 forecast traded-and-won on 08-21 and 08-24) — the Window A p_trade has been under-stated ~0.1–0.2 since the cluster resolved; this is a forecast-calibration observation for the PM, at n=2 not yet structural. Watch the Window C rolling-15-trade PF monitor (no C trades this period).

TRACE — binding gate: vote ≥62% (Window A) + B/C observability. On the Dow leg the vote gate bound CORRECTLY → REGIME + operational, not calibration. The data path is A-stable, B/C-blank.

TRACE's binding gate today is a composite: (1) the vote ≥62% on Window A, which bound correctly — vote=40% is a genuine no-signal, not a graze, and sim 0.779 was above the 0.60 floor so the sim gate did not even bind — and (2) B/C observability (no_data on both). Where data arrived, the gate found no decisive DIA continuation. The Dow was the session's up-leg (~+0.3%), yet my library produced only a 40% vote — the second straight firm-Dow session with no decisive DIA fingerprint, reinforcing the REGIME (6-of-10 vote resolution point for K=10) reading on the Dow leg. The dominant operational constraint is B/C data delivery, which has refined from all-window oscillation to A-stable/B-C-blank across 08-21 → 08-24. Implication: the data-infra/runner-logging diagnosis (now B/C-scoped) remains the desk's highest-priority open item; no calibration question is posed by a genuine 40% no-signal. No unilateral tweak to locked v2 gates (K=10, max_sim ≥0.60). SPRT CONTINUE, LLR −1.350, −1.595 from DEGRADED; nineteen sessions dry since 07-27, and the DEGRADED clock still cannot start because every dry session is a no-trade day.

Narrative finding: The desk-level value-add today is the consolidated instrument-level divergence. Two consecutive sessions (08-21, 08-24) show the same clean pattern: SPY's Window A fires decisively and wins (73.3%, 86.7%) while DIA's Window A votes a flat 40% — on both days the Dow was the firm/up leg, the opposite of what a naive "strong index → continuation" expectation would predict. Same long-only LOW-VIX KNN mechanism, different instruments and libraries. This is the honest expression of the two stacks' independence and a genuine instrument-microstructure signal, not a shared session effect — and it means the two members diversify each other exactly as the Family 5 pooling design intends (a two-tier day where tech led down and the Dow held up produced one decisive continuation in SPY and none in DIA). No same-day co-fire, so no correlated-session counting issue for the pool. Both members carried zero event exposure into the 2 PM Bessent event, validating the desk's Window A event-clean structural call end-to-end.

Open TEMPER Items (Carried Forward)

  • MNEME — Window A vote clustering at 60% (regime watch). RESOLVED and CONFIRMED this session: the cluster cleared on 08-21 (73.3%, +$213.15) and today cleared even more decisively (86.7%, +$150.43) — back-to-back decisive-and-winning A fires. The regime (natural binomial resolution point for K=15) reading is confirmed; the gate was never too tight. No parameter action; SPRT CONSISTENT (LLR +4.602).
  • MNEME — Window C rolling-15-trade PF < 1.2 suspension monitor. Standing. No Window C trades this period (A drove the single trade). Watch remains open ahead of PCE/NVDA week.
  • MNEME — plan-confidence boundary (calibration watch, new). Forecast 0.38 LOW traded-and-won on both 08-21 and 08-24 (2-for-2). Since the 60% cluster resolved, Window A p_trade appears under-stated ~0.1–0.2. n=2 — observation, not yet structural; flagged for learnings.md.
  • TRACE — data-infra/runner-logging diagnosis (observability). UNRESOLVED — highest priority. The data path has refined from "oscillating all-window" to "A-stable, B/C-blank" (08-21 A-only → 08-24 A-only; A delivered genuine reads both days). B/C data delivery remains broken. Flagged again for learnings.md.
  • TRACE — DEGRADED-clock start condition. Pre-registered protocol (desk-PM review at DEGRADED → TEMPER conversation within 5 sessions) is in place; the clock cannot start because no qualifying trade has fired. Now nineteen sessions dry since 07-27. LLR −1.350, −1.595 from DEGRADED. No unilateral action — protocol handles it if a qualifying trade logs.
  • TRACE — reconfirmation ledger items (SPY Calmar, random-entry control, event-day breakdown, VIX regime breakdown, KNN contamination diagnostic). Standing obligations carried from WS2c; due ~2026-08-02. Not advanced this session — the B/C observability failure remains the binding constraint on live accumulation.

Desk Summary for Orchestrator

House Mneme's Monday session was a clean trade-trigger day and a strong one: MNEME logged a REAL long on SPY Window A (entry 763.42 @ 10:00, HARD_FLAT 764.96 @ 12:00, +$150.43, vote=86.7%/sim 0.8064 — the most decisive A fire of the run), its second consecutive decisive-and-winning A trade after the 60% cluster resolved, pushing SPRT to CONSISTENT-WITH-BACKTEST (LLR +4.602) and cumulative to +$1,126.24 (20 trades, 55% WR) — a firm confirmation that the cluster was regime, not calibration. TRACE stayed dry (19 sessions since 07-27), blocked by a genuine Window A 40% no-signal (sim 0.779) with B/C blanking again; its data path has refined to A-stable/B-C-blank, and the DEGRADED clock (LLR −1.350, −1.595 out) still cannot start on a no-trade day. Both members carried zero exposure into the 2 PM Bessent event, validating the desk's Window A event-clean structural call. Learnings flags filed: MNEME — the resolved 60% cluster now confirmed by back-to-back decisive-and-winning A fires (86.7% most decisive of the run), plus a plan-confidence boundary now 2-for-2 (0.38 forecast traded-and-won twice — Window A p_trade under-stated since the cluster resolved); TRACE — data path refined to A-stable/B-C-blank, with the Dow-leg 40% vote a regime no-signal, not a data failure. Next: PCE + NVDA Aug 26 (Tier-1 hard skip) and Jackson Hole Aug 27–29.

Reflection Filed

  • Filed: 2026-08-24 (EOD reflection, desk cadence — trade-day trigger; mneme traded)
  • Next session event risk (from EOD briefing): LOW–MEDIUM for Tue 08-25 (no Tier-1; Consumer Confidence / New Home Sales non-Tier-1) — but PCE Aug 26 + NVDA Q2 Aug 26 are Tier-1 (hard skip for both members); Jackson Hole Aug 27–29. Chip/NVDA slide into Wednesday's print is the live single-name watch.
  • GHOST: frozen (Phase 2, Decision D2) — no reflection written.
  • MNEME and TRACE per-member reflections filed.
  • Flags embedded for learnings.md (desk-blind, own members): MNEME — the four-session 60% Window A vote cluster (08-14→08-20) is now confirmed fully resolved by back-to-back decisive-and-winning A fires (08-21 73.3% +$213.15; 08-24 86.7% +$150.43, the most decisive A vote of the run), the strongest confirmation of the regime (natural binomial resolution point for K=15) reading; also a plan-confidence boundary now 2-for-2 — forecast 0.38 LOW traded-and-won twice since the cluster resolved, indicating Window A p_trade has been under-stated ~0.1–0.2 (n=2, calibration watch). SPRT CONSISTENT (LLR +4.602). TRACE — the data path has refined from "oscillating all-window" to "A-stable, B/C-blank" (08-21 → 08-24, A delivered genuine market reads both days — sim 0.808/0.779, both voting 40%); on 08-24 the Dow was the session's up-leg (~+0.3%, tariff escalation absorbed) yet my A-vote was again 40%, the second straight firm-Dow session with no decisive DIA continuation fingerprint — a regime no-signal (6-of-10 vote resolution point for K=10), not a data failure; B/C observability remains the desk's highest-priority open item. SPRT CONTINUE, LLR −1.350, −1.595 from DEGRADED, nineteen sessions dry since 07-27.
